436 Leaving On A High Note 2

Mikaela was dropped off at the academy with her two companions by Prince Ailwin and General Gilwenys.

Since only a selected few of the students were at the banquet, news had spread of Mikaela' and Ailwin's engagement.

Most people didn't want to believe the rumors going around, though it is mostly females who held out hope of marrying Ailwin themselves. With the two of them arriving together hand in hand it was evidence enough to support the gossip, however.

"We are going to have some trouble…" Saavi looked at the young female grinding their teeth with jealousy.

"Well, it not like we didn't know this was going to happen." Jaonos replied. He firmly believes that wherever Mika's goes trouble will follow.

"En." Saavi agreed.

Walking into the academy's plaza they were stopped by a group of school's guards calling out for Saavi.

"Miss Saavi!"

They all turned around to see a group of soldiers coming their way. When Saavi recognize who the person was who called out to her, a smiled naturally graced her face.

As Braeden was looking at her, he saw the change in her expression and wondered who put the pretty smile there.

At the sight of the soldiers coming to them, Braeden's face change dramatically as he stepped in front of Saavi, blocking the guards' view.

Although Saavi always feels the need to remind Mika's of the correct behavior a young miss should have towards the opposite sex, she didn't feel she needed to be the same way. She was Mikaela's personal servant, who was going to care about trivial things about a servant talking to a group of guards.

So when the captain got closer, she stepped from behind Braeden and walk to meet the male halfway.

"Hello, are you guys on your way the training grounds again today?"

"En…" The captain spoke to Saavi while glancing over at Ailwin and Braeden. "...is something wrong do you need my help?"

Saavi looked over to where he was looking and noticed a very fuming General behind her; not understand what was General Gilwenys' problem, she turned back around and smiled politely at the males.

"No, those two are...are….my friends." Though not really, but she felt it was a better than overly explaining their relationship with her.

"Oh, okay." Hearing Saavi call them friends made the captain smile more brightly at her.

Braeden felt like he ate a tub full of vinegar. Rubbing the nasty feeling away, he turned around and walked back towards the shuttle.

"Braeden, where are you going?" Ailwin called out to him.

"I'll wait for you back at the shuttle…" Braeden didn't bother to turn around as he spoke.

"What the hell is his problem?" Mika stared at the retreating General.

"Mika, you may be smart, but you don't understand males." Jaonos replied. He could tell that the talented General has feelings for Saavi, it was plain as daylight to him.

"First, I am intelligent not smart...I will even take the term genius if you like, and second, you are right, I don't understand males and that one," Pointing at Braeden's back, "tend to be too damn imperious for my logical mind to want to understand." Mika corrected.

Finish with her conversation with the academy's guards, Saavi walked back to the awaiting group minus Braeden.

"Where did General Gilwenys go off to?" She asked, realizing they were missing a person.

"He had to take a sh*t. He couldn't wait anymore….it was coming out." Mika answered.

"Oh...okay." Saavi turned away with a revolted expression on her face.

Ailwin and Jaonos said a prayer for their fellow male. It seems Braeden will have a long way to go with Mika around.

Making their way to the dormitory, they were met by blatant stares and whispers.

Those who knew what Ailwin looks like, could identify him immediately.

"I think you should stop here, anymore and we will be followed into my dorm room by everyone." Mika stop him just outside of the dormitory building.

"En." Ailwin stared down at Mika's face before moving in for a hug. They won't be able to see each other for some time. They each will have to handle the problems that come their way on their own.

Trapped in his bear hug, Mika breathed in Ailwin's scent until he let her go.

"Stay safe." He said and gave a light peck on her forehead before turning to walk away without looking back.

Seeing Mika stare at his retreating back, Saavi wondered if she was going to be okay.

"Mikaela…"

"It's fine, everything will work out this time…" Saavi and Jaonos didn't know what she other time she was referring to, but were glad to see she wasn't too sad about the parting.

Entering the dorm building, they found Celaena, Hycis, and Nylian sitting on the entrance stairs.

"You guys are back!" Jaonos ran towards Hycis giving him hard slaps on the back, "That's for tricking us!"

"Ow! Ow! Okay, don't hurt me anymore. I won't do it again." Hycis pleaded, trying to quickly move away from the oncoming attacks.

"You better not." Saavi cracked her knuckles. She also wanted to pay him back for the stunt he pulled.

"Come on, I said I was sorry." Hycis hid behind Nylian.

"You didn't even need to go-"

"Enough. Let's discuss this else where." Mika reminded them that they weren't in a private place and that they shouldn't speak anymore about it until they got to a secure room.

Guiding everyone upstairs towards her dorm room, Mika opened her door to a creepy surprise.

Flowers of different shape and sizes filled greeted her. Checking the number on the door and realizing it's indeed is her room, made her see red. Someone trespassed into my room…!

"Whoah, did Prince Ailwin do this?" Hycis came up behind Mika to peer into the room.

"No." Mika walked further in, the layout of the plants reminded her of the imperial gardens. Turning towards her desk she found a note made out to her.

It read:

My dear little daughter in law,

I hope you like my engagement gift.

See you soon.

P.S. Let's play hide and seek again.

Mika didn't find this gift beautiful nor delightful. The King was very clearly threatening and toying with her.
