Chapter 374 - Attacked

After meeting with both President Li and Chairman Li for almost two hours, Liang Sheng finally left the headquarter. He planned to visit his parents briefly and then, catch the last flight back to Y City. 

Although he was sure that his mother would nag him for not staying over, Liang Sheng would not be at ease until he left Capital City. He can only tell his parents that he needed to return to Y City soon as he was busy with the project. His parents were aware that he had to take over the project as his boss was on her maternity leave and therefore, they won't say much about it. Liang Sheng can only promise that he will accompany them once the project was completed.

Remembering that his mother liked a pastry from a shop around the headquarter, Liang Sheng made a stop to buy something for his mother. Just as he was queuing to made his payment, Liang Sheng could not shake off the feeling as if being watched. Turning around, he then scanned for his surroundings only to find that there was nothing amiss.

Liang Sheng took a deep breath at the thought that perhaps, he was being too sėnsɨtɨvė because he did not like to stay in Capital City for too long.

Once he made his payment, Liang Sheng took the paper bag and grabbed a cab, and head back home.

He spent time with his mother, chatting and catching up for hours. Once he had dinner with his parents, Liang Sheng left for the airport. With only one backpack that he brought earlier, Liang Sheng checked in and waited for his flight. He took out a book and started to read it to kill some time.

Just then, there was an announcement, paging him and mentioning that his father was looking for him. At the thought that his father had come for something important, Liang Sheng quickly stood up and walked over to the meeting place.

However, once he arrived at the place, Liang Sheng could not find anyone. The place was dark and there was no one around. 

Sensing that something was amiss, Liang Sheng turned around to leave. Just as he turned around, someone had hit him around his neck area and he fell unconscious.

Li Mu Chen entered the hotel room and glanced at the two men that Shan Zi had lent for her. She tilted her head sideways and asked, "Where is your boss?"

With Shan Zi's men help, they had knocked Liang Sheng unconscious and had brought him to the nearest hotel around the airport.

"Miss Li," one of the burly man smiled. "Mr. Shan could not come over and accompany you tonight. However, he did leave his message for you. He said that you should enjoy your prey. He had instructed us to help you with anything you need. Miss Li, if there is anything that you need us to do, just say the word." Once his words fell, the man glanced at his friend and smiled.

Previously, their boss, Shan Zi had briefed them of Li Mu Chen's plan and once they heard what the woman was about to do, they were excited. They were instructed to stay to record what was going on in the room and the men were happy that they were about to enjoy an interesting scene.

Li Mu Chen nodded. Then, he walked over to the queen size bed and frowned when he saw the unconscious man on the bed. Her lips curled into a smile as he watched him with his eyes close and he was breathing steadily. Li Mu Chen's gaze fell on the man's face and a snicker escaped her.

Under the dimmed hotel light, Liang Sheng was very good looking. If she can ignore the man's identity as an ȧssistant's son, Li Mu Chen thought that Liang Sheng could be a good catch.

As the thought ran through her head, Li Mu Chen sat at the edge of the bed and ran her finger on his face. 

"Such pretty face, and you dared to reject me countless times," Li Mu Chen patted on Liang Sheng's face a few times and frowned when he did not wake up. Turning to the men that Shan Zi sent, Li Mu Chen then asked, "What happened to him?"

"Miss Li, you did not have to worry," the man spoke again. "Our boss had instructed us to feed him with some sleeping pills. This way, this man would not be able to fight you no matter what you wanted to do to him."

Li Mu Chen let out a laugh. "Well, your boss is very considerate. Later, you have to help me to convey my thank."

The men nodded. "Yes, Miss Li."

Li Mu Chen continued to watch the unconscious man and her hand ran over his upper body, feeling his muscle underneath. A chuckle escaped her. Surprisingly, the bespectacled man can be muscular as well.

Suddenly, Li Mu Chen stood up. Just as she was about to give her instruction to Shan Zi's man to leave her alone, Li Mu Chen caught the sight of Liang Sheng's backpack on the table. She walked over and unzipped the bag.

"Miss Li, this backpack was the only thing that this man had with him," one of the men spoke.

"Hmm," Li Mu Chen nodded. She rummaged through the bag and saw that there were a few A4 envelopes, books, a power bank, and some snacks. Just as she was stuffing those things back into the bag, Li Mu Chen's hand stopped. She then took out the envelopes and the documents in it. 

Looking at the familiar QL Group logo, Li Mu Chen then leaned on the table as she studied its contents.

Although she did not stay to work with QL Group for too long, Li Mu Chen was still familiar with a few terms and understood very well what was those documents about.

Her cousin's project had entered its third phase and it will not take too long for her to enter the final phase. Li Mu Chen could already see her cousin's triumph smile once the project was completed. Their grandfather will undoubtedly praise her and her brother will tell her to follow Yao Yao's example.

These thoughts alone made Li Mu Chen unhappy. 

"Miss Li?" one of the men called upon noticing that Li Mu Chen had taken a seat to read the documents. Her face turned dark as she read the progress report of the Tourism City.

"Shut up," Li Mu Chen snapped. "Let me read this first." She slapped the documents on the table, hard and took out other documents. 

Just as she continued to read its contents, a malicious smile curled on her lips. Suddenly, Li Mu Chen was reminded of her mother and knew that this was a perfect chance and way to get back to her cousin.

Li Mu Chen looked up at the men and smiled. "Well, there is a change of plan."

Liang Sheng woke up with a jolt when he felt someone slapped his face softly. He looked around in panic and was surprised upon seeing an elderly staring back at him.

"Young man, are you alright?" the elderly asked.

Liang Sheng shook his head and frowned when the pain ȧssaulted him. He tried to recall what happened to him and instantly panicked. His first reaction was to check on his body and surroundings. Once he found out that he was still at the airport, Liang Sheng heaved a sigh of relief.

"Young man, what are you doing sleeping here?" the elderly asked.

Liang Sheng thought of the attack last night and started to check for his belongings. Fortunately, his backpack and those important documents were still with him. The only thing that was missing was a few cash from his wallet.

Thinking that someone had attacked him to steal some cash from him, Liang Sheng frowned.
