Chapter 41 - Ainsley's Path Of Destiny

David stepped out of the hotel room. After making sure Angeline had fallen asleep very soundly, David left her.

David's destination was a bar a few blocks from the hotel where they were staying.

David is not a naive person who travels unprepared. With a pistol modeled after the QSZ-92, a semi-automatic pistol using nine-millimeter rounds made in China in 1994, this mass-produced pistol is now starting to stop being produced due to its relatively high recoil rate, making it less competitive with other weapons that has ewer model handheld fire which is easier to aim than this gun.

However, like weapons that have a high enough recoil, their damage power cannot be underestimated. The 9 x 9 Parabellum pointed bullet model he uses allows him to penetrate a 5.8 x 21 millimeter bullet-proof vest.

Although the effective range of this weapon is relatively low; at around fifty meters, David was still able to shoot very accurately at four hundred meter targets moving at a maximum speed of sixty kilometers per hour, not just passive target objects. In terms of accuracy, perhaps David is 'above the sky' than most people in the Underworld.

And this time, David did not fiddle with the gun excessively. He only added a few minor modifications such as a silencer at the end of the barrel and changed the standard ammunition box model to the extended-quickdraw model.

The extended-quickdraw box model allows David to replace an empty ammunition box with a new one in a fraction of a second faster. And also the number of bullets has also increased from the normal number so David doesn't have to bother replacing them anytime soon.

It didn't take long for David to arrive at the place Catty had planned. This time, David was hundreds of times more angry than when he had faced the group of fools who had dared to kidnap Angeline.

The stupid incident that ended with him wasting his time dealing with a group of people even lower than amateurs.

David's anger is mounting at this time because Catty dares to interfere with his precious vacation with Angeline. These days, David rarely spends time with Angeline. And when he had the chance to spend time with Angeline, she messing it up.

Even so, David, who had been instinctively trained to remain calm under his raging anger, allowed him to think clearly and stay alert.

David walked into a bar that was still full of visitors even though it was this late.

He was not surprised if Catty wanted to meet him in such a crowd with people like this. In fact, the last time they met, that crazy woman blew up the sports arena which caused a stir in the news media of whole country.

David looked around, and when he saw someone, David immediately frowned.

A blonde haired woman from not too far from where David was currently standing smiled up at him. The woman he certainly knew very well.

The woman who had been his direct disciple.

The woman who had fed him mouth-to-mouth.

The woman he had saved and helped her to rise up and fight back against the cruel world that had beaten her.

The woman who helps David get information about the three people on the top list of David's targets for revenge.

That person was Ainsley, the woman who had once thought of David as the lantern of light in her life.

What does this mean?

David thought Catty would be really waiting for him. From the black rose petals he got from a letter delivered by the hotel maid, David was sure that Catty was the one who should hold this meeting.

Then, why is Ainsley here instead?

David walked over to Ainsley and sat directly opposite her. Ainsley smiled, "How was your vacation?" asked Ainsley, opening the cap of the beer bottle and placing it in front of David.

"What the hell are you doing here?" asked David, staring at Ainsley with a gaze that she knew exactly what was going through David's mind. David is now transformed into a very sophisticated scanner. Every move and word Ainsley said would make David even more aware of Ainsley's true meaning.

At times like these, Ainsley knew very well that she could not lie in front of a David Stockholm, the Prince of Hell who was in front of her today. No matter how good the woman tries, it's absolutely no use.

Ainsley took a sip of beer and looked back at David with a lopsided smile. "I also wanna take a vacation, is it wrong?"

David, who had put on an expressionless face, now smiled broadly. "So you're the one who sent the letter."

Ainsley didn't reply to David's words, only to return to drinking the apple-flavored beer in her grasp.

"And black rose petals ..." David hung up, causing Ainsley to look away. "Are you going to turn against me now?"

Ainsley still fixed her eyes to the side, but this time a chuckle escaped Ainsley's mouth.

"Do you know the consequences if you choose the wrong side? You know best what I can do. Why are you being this stupid? What did that brainless bitch offer to you so you wanna take her side?"

Ainsley took another sip of the liquid from her beer bottle and put it on the table opposite her and looked back at David with defiant eyes. "I really know what a devil like you is capable of. But don't think I entered this war without the slightest preparation."

David took out a cigarette from the package, burned the tip of the nicotine stick he sandwiched between his upper and lower lips to enjoy the addictive smoke that always accompanied his daily life, blew the fumes of pleasure into the air and gave a ready-to-slaughter-a-thousand-people-in-a-single-night to Ainsley.

"If you have a stupid idea like making Angeline the guarantee of your life, then your brain really has moved on in to your pussy." David returned to puffing his pleasure smoke again and blew the smoke from inside his breath on purpose Ainsley's face. "And if you think that I didn't realize that there are thirty assassins disguised as visitors to this bar could give me a warm-up to relax my muscles, you should hire more people."

Ainsley laughed again. The woman was so satisfied with David's abilities that he could even spot the thirty assassins she had hired to greet David.

Ainsley stared at David with sharp eyes. "Go on, impress me more."

"What else do you wanna hear? About your plan to make Angeline who was sleeping in the hotel room suddenly come here and see me standing on top of the corpses of those lowly rats you hired?"

Now both Ainsley's hands were on her stomach, trying to endure the pain of her uncontrollable laughter, causing several of the bar patrons to turn their heads at her thanks to the sound of her rather loud laugh.

"There's really nothing I can hide from you, David. Looks like our meeting this time will be enough here. Next time I'll really surprise you."

Ainsley stood up and stepped away, but Ainsley's wrist was gripped tightly enough by David to stop her from walking.

"You think I'll just let you fucking go like that?"

Seeing that the women who had hired them was under threat, the thirty assassins David had mentioned before rose from their chairs. David glanced over and couldn't help to start laughing.

Those people weren't even worthy of being called assassins. More precisely, they were like a bunch of street thugs moving at their will without any instructions they obeyed. Even their response is very bad because they can't read the situation properly.

Supposedly, if they had a slightly better sense of the circumstances around them, they would have known that if they appeared, they would only fall to become a prey to the dangerous wolf who was holding Ainsley's hand right now.

They should have just sat in their seats if they really didn't want to be turned into a pile of useless, lifeless meat by David.

Ainsley turned her head, "Are you really going to kill me right now?"

David tightened his grip on Ainsley's wrist, leaving the woman unable to pretend she didn't feel anything. Her expression that was still being held in response to the pain from the grip of David's hand on her right wrist.

"From the very beginning, I have warned you. And you also know, I never forgive anyone I consider to be my enemy."

Ainsley closed her eyes and smiled bitterly. A drop of tears came out of the corner of her eyelid.

David ignored it. He was waiting for what Ainsley would do next. Since Ainsley had never done anything to injure Angeline, perhaps David would still consider to spare her life.

At the very least, keeping her with only one hand for the rest of her life was enough for David.

Maybe.

Ainsley opened her eyes again and what she was doing was far from what David expected.

Bruaaaakkkk! ...

Ainsley throws a swinging kick that shatters the back of David's chair and hits David's back, causing David to release his grip on Ainsley's right wrist.

Not stopping there, Ainsley stomped David's body as hard as she could with her right foot, making David move away from her about a few steps.

And before David got up and started attacking her back, about thirty assassins hired by Ainsley had surrounded him, while Ainsley had already run away from the bar which was almost becoming her own grave.

David smiled broadly. Without the slightest warning he started slaughtering all of the assassins. But tears came out of David's eyes.

Yes, David was crying as he kept beating those assassins so badly.

Inside his heart, David recalled all the memories he had with Ainsley. Thinking that he would have to kill Ainsley with his own hands in the end made David unable to hold back his tears.

He continued to fight, while still shedding tears.

As for Ainsley, the girl had pulled the gas lever of her motor sport away from where David was. And on her run, Ainsley also shed tears too.

They both cried. Crying over their past memories.

Crying for the fate she chose with her own hands.
