"That's your only reaction, grandfather?" Aaron asked in disbelief. His grandfather truly has changed. The one who strongly opposed the soon-to-be relationship between his sister and Kyle has now changed.
He is letting Kyle do what he wants now.
"What kind of reaction do you expect me to show?" Marcus can't understand why his grandson is saying that to him. Whatever his granddaughter do it has nothing to do with him as long as it is making her happy. After all, Anna is the age that she can make her own decision.
"Come on now, Aaron. Just let this case be." Mary said in a calm tone. In Mary's perspective, Aaron is being too overprotective towards his sister. She really is glad that Aaron likes to take care of his sister even if he is far away, but being overprotective is a bit too much.
Aaron needs to loosen a bit. He should start letting go of that protectiveness or else Anna will have a hard time between Kyle and Aaron. Mary is also sure that if Aaron keeps this up, her son will be the one who will be the first one to cry on Anna's marriage in the future.
Thinking that her son might cry on his sister's marriage, Mary somehow wants to see that to happen.
Aaron hesitated at first, but in the end, he gave up. "Fine." He said.
Seeing that his mother and grandfather are already fine with what is happening between Kyle and Anna, he will only be wasting his breath if he keeps on opposing it.
"Anyway... as I was asking earlier, are you and Kyle are a couple now?" Marcus asked his question again.
Hearing the word couple Anna blushes. She likes the sound of that. However, as much as she likes the sound of that word, she and Kyle are not a couple yet. She did not confess her feelings for him yet.
If she had not stayed quiet yesterday and told Kyle about her feelings for him, does that mean that they will be a couple immediately? Just like that? Isn't that a little bit too fast?
Somehow, in Anna's perspective, she thinks that her decision yesterday is better than confessing immediately. As a girl, she also wanted to be courted, and she also likes to be the one being chased after because, in her past life, she did not experience any of those.
She only hopes that her wishful thinking won't backfire on her.
"You got it wrong, grandfather. Kyle and I are not at that stage." Anna honestly said, but Marcus seems to be not believing Anna's answer. It's clear to him that Anna feels the same way as Kyle, so it is hard for him to believe that they are not in a relationship yet.
Marcus stared at his granddaughter wanting to make sure that Anna is not joking around with him. But unfortunately for him, Anna is telling him the truth. She and Kyle are not dating. Marcus is utterly in disbelief that this is what is happening between them.
He is not opposing feelings that are blooming inside them anymore, and yet, this is the result of his generosity? Should he pretend that he is against their love? It seems to him that if he does that they will become an official couple faster than expected.
"You know..." Marcus started. "Back in your mother's younger days, she is always being chased by guys, and she could get any man that she wants at any time." Marcus still remembers the time his son pacing back in fort trying to find a way to keep Mary's pursuers in a far distance.
He also remembers the part where his son went all the way just to keep those unwanted guys, like threatening them and some other ridiculous ways to keep those unwanted people away.
"Grandfather, are implying that I should seduce Kyle and have him at my side, then if I get tired of him there is another man waiting next in line?"
"What? That is not what I am saying, you idiotic child." Marcus replied with a hint of irritation on his tone. The way Anna said her words, made it sounded like she is accusing him of wanting to make her a player in the eyes of the public. "What I'm trying to say is that you should not carelessly pick a guy out of simple attraction. But at the very least, it seems to me that Kyle is the most sincere one."
His reason for mentioning the guys who were trying to court Mary is that whenever Mary sees an interesting person she starts to date them immediately, and then after a few days headache keeps coming with those people she dated with.
His granddaughter is very beautiful and he is sure that there is a lot of men wanting to be in a relationship with her. He just wants to tell Anna that even if there is a lot of interesting men out there who want to pursue her, she should not be like her mother who accepts their feelings out of simple interest.
"Grandfather, you don't have to worry about me carelessly picking a guy," Anna said with a bitter smile. She has already learned her lesson from her past life. With just Juan's simple efforts she immediately falls for him, that is how much of a naive girl she is. "Besides, just like what you said: Kyle is the most sincere one. Yesterday, he told me that he likes me and that he will court me."
"Oh?" Mary and Aaron said at the same time. They are somewhat amused by what they have heard from Anna. They already know Kyle's purpose in trying to coax with Marcus, but they did not expect that Anna actually let Kyle do that instead of answering his confession.
"My, my, my, this is going to be quite interesting," Mary said in a mumbling voice.

After breakfast, the twins went off somewhere and the only ones who are left in the mansion are Marcus and Mary. They both are currently in the living room enjoying the peace and quiet. But Marcus broke that quietness.
"Your daughter." Marcus started. "She is just like you."
"What do you mean by that?" Mary replied, acting like she does not know what Marcus mean at what he just said.
"Back then, Arion confessed his feelings to you and you said to him that he should prove to you that his feelings for you are true. At that time, you already knew that his feelings to you were true, and you felt the same way too, but you decided to not reply to his feelings and want him to court you." Somehow Marcus felt bad for Kyle for liking Anna who is in some way similar to her mother.
"Father, every woman needs that kind of treatment, you know?" Mary replied in a matter-of-fact tone.
