"Don't you think that we should tell mom about this?" Anna asked in a worried tone as she stares at one of the pictures that are placed on the table.
"What are you so worried about?" Aaron asked her back instead of answering his sister's question. He does not understand why Anna is so worried about it. In his perspective, there is nothing wrong with what they are doing.
"I'm worried because mom might get angry at us when she finds out that we are doing this behind her back." Anna can already imagine the fuming face of their mother once she finds out that her children are doing something without her permission.
"Anna, don't think too much about our mother's angry face. Besides, what we're doing is for her sake anyway, so she'll understand." There is no such word, like 'might', their mother will surely get angry at them. But that anger will subside after a few days.
Aaron is willing to take their mother's anger as long as his plan works. What he and Anna are doing right now is for their mother's happiness, and he is not about to back away from making his mother happy.
"I know, but don't you think that this kind of decision should be decided by mom?" Although Anna is a bit reluctant about what they are doing, Anna also wants to make her mother happy. She also thinks that this could be a way to do that, but there is a part of her that does not want the plan to happen.
Aaron looks at her and released a scoff. "Anna, do you really think that our mom has the time to do that? She's practically married to her work." Aside from taking care of the twins, Mary's time is mostly about work and work. Even when she has a day off, she is still working. "It's about time for our mother to go see someone and focus on herself more."
Sighing, Anna replied, "I really hate it when you say something like that." Every time her brother says that it's for the sake of their mother or for the other people that are very important to her she always complies. 'Brother, can you not use that to me.' Anna inwardly commented.
After saying that the twins went back on the files on each possible candidate for their mother.
The twins are currently at a public library, and thankfully nobody in the library is trying to approach them. As the twins are doing their research on potential candidates, two figures slowly approached them quietly.
"Is that the Coleman twins?" A happy voice was heard behind the twins. When the twins heard that they turn their heads around and saw Leon and a man who is wearing a mask.
Anna squinted her eyes when she saw the man beside Leon. Anna felt a sense of familiarity towards that man. 'Have I seen him before?'
"Leon, what are you doing here? And who is that man?" Aaron asked out of curiosity. Just like Anna, Aaron also felt a sense of familiarity towards the man. He tries to remember where and when did he met him, but no matter how hard he tries to remember he could not find a single fragment of memory.
Before Leon could even answer Aaron's question, Anna exclaim, "Oh! You're Leon's dad! Brother, that is Leon's father. It is so nice to see you again, mister." Anna said politely. For some reason, Anna felt great excitement and happiness towards Leon's father. She could not understand why is she feeling that way though.
Leon inwardly smirk as he speaks to the twins in his usual happy tone, "Yeah! This is my father, and we're here because we're going to meet someone here." In the corner of his eyes, Leon saw that his boss took of the mask, and he was really glad that before they went out, his boss put on his fake face.
If his boss had not done that, he is sure that Anna and Aaron can immediately recognize their father. Although he wants them to be together again, his boss told him that they should keep their presence low and that no one must know that Arion Coleman is back in the country.
"That's your father?" Aaron said as if he could not believe that Leon is related to that man. Just like what his sister said to him the other day, Leon did not get his looks from his father.
Arion's lips slightly twitched when he heard that from his son. It is true that he and Leon are not really father and son, but at this moment and for other days that are coming, he and Leon have to play a show that they are blood-related.
The way Aaron asked his question, it sounded like he is not convinced that he and Leon are blood-related. A part of Arion wants to believe that his son noticed that there is something fishy going, but Arion knows better than what Aaron is thinking right now is different from his. Ever since the comment Anna made, Arion already expected the same thing from Aaron.
'I should have made a better looking fake face.' Arion inwardly commented.
"Yup! That is right!" Leon said trying to hold back his laughter. As he is holding himself back, Leon glanced at the pictures and files on the table in front of the twins. Suddenly, curiosity took over him. "What are you guys doing?" He asked.
"This? Uh, we're trying to find a suitable man for our mom." Anna said casually.
Leon and Arion heard that and they both have different expressions on their faces. Leon excited face lit up while Arion's face froze in shocked by what he just heard. His own children are trying to find someone to replace him? He felt that his world just shattered.
"Oh? That's interesting." Leon said as he picks up one of the pictures on the table. Slowly, he looks at the twins and asks, "But I thought you guys already have a father?"
"We do have a father, but--"
"He's dead," Aaron said, interrupting Anna. "Since he is dead, we're going to find a man who could fill his stead." Truth to be told, Aaron is not even sure that his blood-father is dead or not, but he does not care one bit.
As for Anna, she feels complicated about her father. She does not know if she should hate him or not. There is a part of her that believes that there is an explanation of why her father left them, and there is also a part of her that doesn't believe that.
