Chapter 535: Sixth Element Part 1

After taking in the memory fragment, Kana no longer needed to be on this world any longer and returned to her ship. From there, she began leveling up and searching for more memory fragments. After forty years, she had already gathered twenty memory fragments and was very surprised at all the different lives she had lived. She was a queen in one life, a slave trader in another. She had even been seen as the holy mother.  With each new memory fragment she gained, the more she understood not only about herself but her powers.

Another thing she learned was that knowledge and practice makes perfect. The more she used her elements, the better control she had over them, which also raised her mastery percentage as well. Even her death element had reached intermediate mastery.

She was still missing a single element in order to evolve once more. She had no idea what their evolution would entail, but she hoped it would raise her power by leaps and bounds. But as soon as she hit level one hundred, she stopped getting any experience from kills, so her main goal now was to find her next element.

"This here is an upgraded version of the elemental detection using ley lines. It will target a location in space that has a good abundance of a certain element. From there, we just need to head to that location." Eie explained.

"Alright, then let's fire it up and head out. Once I get this new element, I already have enough points to meet the requirements to evolve. So the sooner I get it, the better." Kana wanted to evolve as quickly as possible. She wanted to see what her new strength was and what she would need to reach the next evolutionary state.

"Then I will flip the switch!" Eie wasted no time and hit the button on the console in front of her. As she did, a holographic map of the universe they were in came into view. And within it many different colored dots. "Each dot represents a high concentration of an element. The color also represents the element. From this map, our closest one should be lightning. This large yellow dot here. But this is strange… there is no planet here..."

The map showed what looked like a nebula cloud. But from Kana's knowledge that she had gained, she did not know of any nebulas that could produce lightning. So to have such an abundance in an area like this in space was very strange. "Let's set the ship on course then. Eve, if you will."

"Jumping to the location now," Eve replied.

They had upgraded many functions of the ship, allowing them to jump further distances through the void and more precisely.  It was as if they teleported to the location because they had gotten the time dilation down to a fraction of a second.

When they arrived, they looked on the large monitor to see streaks of lightning flashing every which way inside a dense nebula. Kana looked at the display in awe as some of these lightning glasses were light-years in length. "I will be back soon."

Kana's body flashed as she teleported out of the void and appeared just outside the nebula. The nebula was huge, and Kana knew that searching without any idea what she was looking for was not going to get her anywhere. Instead, she sat there crossed legged as she floated in place outside the nebula and looked for some kind of source. She took out her element detector and turned it on. She waved it back and forth before she finally got a decent reading.

"So it's there…. Very deep within." Kana got her general direction of where she had to go and stood up before disappearing.

Kana had to do many continuous teleports each time she would stop to check where she was and check the position of the largest source of lightning element within the nebula. Sometimes she was on course, and sometimes she jumped too far off course. But eventually, she came to a large dense cloud of lightning that was even hard for her to get close to. But even so, Kana was not about to give up so easily. She teleported right into the core of the dense cloud, and what she saw as she arrived amazed her. It looked like a world of its own. But Kana was sure she was still in space. But she saw land and blue skies. She floated down and landed on the landmass that was not actually a landmass. It was squishy under her toes. She bent down and touched the landmass with her fingers and pursed her lips. "Cloud?"

"Close, but no. It is a combination of all the elements within this nebula. I created this space to give me some peace of mind, away from all life. Normally no one would ever enter a nebula which is a volatile space. But you little girl are something else. Can you tell me how it is that you are able to be out here?" A voice came from further in. It was an ethereal voice as if it had no body. But Kana felt that whatever this voice was it must be the cause of the lightning element. Her lips curled up knowing that this might just be another elemental. She couldn't wait to extend her family more.
