Evan had to face a little shock, when he heard what the Ambassador was saying. It sounded very odd that he suggested something like that. As far as he observed, ambassador Cyrus, doesn't suggest things like this. But, then again, he didn't know him that much, so he can't conclude anything.
But, he realized whatever he said was true. If he handles the situation, there would be more surity that the people won't do an act like this again. He being a true Royal bloodline can assure and has more power to take any decisions.
As far as security is concerned, he can handle himself and protect himself wel. And, he was very much sure, his father won't send him alone, to a place like East. It was a most attack prone area, as it has an easy entrance for people from the sea.
But, what bothered him was, Aeinshia. He told her that morning, that he would accompany her to City Sylter, to visit her mother. And, now, he was turning away from his words. He is breaking his word to her, and a prickling pain shot his eyes as he thought more into it.
He was sure, she would understand his sense of duty, but he couldn't help but feel guilty for not able to stand on his words. Compared to everything, he was worried on not accompanying her and making her unhappy. He isn't even the emperor yet, but duties hindering him already.
He didn't had to worry, as Felix would still accompany her and for some safety measures, he could leave Peter to accompany them.
He would have enough security with him to the East and he knew there would be a lot of guards accompanying Aeinshia. So, he was assured.
With these thoughts running in his mind, Evan finally made his decision.
"I agree with Ambassador Cyrus words. The citizens might be more assured if it's the Royal family and I would be happy to gain my citizens trust." He declared while facing his father.
Alexander smiled a bit. He was happy and satisfied that his son is learning well and he took up a good decision.
Milan smirked to himself when he heard the Prince accept his words and was ready to go to the East. Everything was happening as he expected it to be. "Oh, my Prince, I hope you would enjoy your journey. And please do make sure to not let me down with your performance there, " He internally celebrated.
Alexander smiled a little, barely noticeable to anyone and announced, "General Hendrel, as the Crown Prince is also joining, I would grant more guards to accompany you to the journey. "
Since the future emperor himself involved now, no one could take any chance of any risk and should be extra cautious.
Albert Hendrel bowed his head, "Your orders would be followed, your Highness."
He could have asked, but Felix was seated a bit far away from his seat and he just couldn't stand and go to him.
Alexander's words suddenly cut through the air, "As our Crown Prince is going in his very first mission, I would like to question the young people here about their feelings. Or if someone would like to accompany the Prince to his mission. "
But, his eyes were strictly trailed in Felix. Andrew observed this. Maybe, he too observed Felix's troubled and distracted expression. He just hoped. Alexander won't take it otherwise or offendable.
Of course, whatever Aeinshia or Felix does, Alexander never tells them to do otherwise. But, Andrew always made sure they were respectful to the Emperor and never forget their place and behave well with him. Even though when they were talking light heartedly or joking around. One should always be conscious of their position no matter how they related and know where their limits stand at.
Felix suddenly jolted from his frozen stature. It was like all his blood was running with full speed in his whole body. His eyes looked around the throne room and realized two sets of eyes lingering on him.
One, his father's and other was his uncle's. He sighed, when he realized they were expecting something from him and he didn't even listen to what happened till now. Literally, from the moment Evan began to speak, he entered into his own thinking world and forgot to follow up.
Well, he was listening until, Evan stated his point atleast. Something from his words seemed to click something in his brain and he couldn't remember what it was. After thinking and recollecting, he finally got it.
But, the problem is he didn't know how to give his stance. He never spoke in the throne room, before. That wasn't an excuse, but he has to get a grip and keep his opinions in open.
He was confident in his thought process and his argument and he knew one thing for very sure, his uncle would support him, that was a given.
But, still something gave him an odd vibe, like they were being watched closely. There was some uncomfortable vibe he felt, the moment the Emperor explained the situation about the government officials in the East. He isn't sure, but it would be no wonder if another samuel cullen is among them here.
He slowly stood up and glanced awkwardly at the Emperor. Andrew was observing his son and could feel he was feeling uncomfortable about something. He raised a brow at this behavior of Felix.
Felix was never afraid to speak what was in his mind, then he didn't understand the reason for the fidgeting and the awkwardness. He was behaving like a newly wed woman, first time facing her husband, finding it hard to talk back.
"I.." Felix stopped and sucked a deep breath and lifted his head to face the Emperor and bowed down his head.
"I apologize for my late opinion, but I really think this has to be brought to your notice, your highness." He stopped and the room once again, regained its silence.
Alexander furrowed his eyebrows. Felix must've found something really odd. Else, he won't be speaking so sophisticatedly to him. "What has this boy found, that he is speaking like this." He thought and waited for him to go ahead.
"Every gentleman in here knows about the letter or code, that was found in the Marques Samuel Cullen's house." It was a statement not a question. Everyone looked at Felix with confused faces, why was he bringing that thing, into this discussion? That's a past matter and it's ended up wasting their time in the end, as they got zero leads. Their enemy sure is intelligent enough to clean all steps, leaving no traces for them.
Felix paused for a while, trying his words to get into their head and continued, "And, everyone knows a troop was sent to the mountains in the West and City Belgonia." He paused again, and was satisfied when he saw the expression on his uncle's face. He was expecting it from his uncle.
Alexander's eyes widened and he felt Felix looking at him and gave a small smile. 'Yes, its definitely what I'm thinking that he would say.' He thought, but nevertheless listened to Felix speaking.
"The report came after few days and the result is known by every person who is present here. No traces were found. So, the case was dropped in middle and the death of Marques Samuel Cullen remained a mystery.
Now, I would like to point out that after few days, we suddenly knew about the suspicious movements in the West and now a riot in the East. "
At this point, everyone were listening intently and some almost figured out what Felix was going to say.
"I am suspecting the point that these are all connected. Marques' death, the suspicious movements in the West and the riot in the East. As pointed by his highness, Crown Prince, our guards are hard to take down, so possibly there maybe other people than the citizens, who might possibly be the trigger to such riot. I not only think there is a third party involvement, but some powerful people involved here. Maybe those who want to harm our empire behind our backs, since they clearly knew they can't take us down facing directly which means they can't win in a battle with us, they might be the one's whom marquees Samuel cullen might have contacted with. "
" They might have disguised as commoners, and rasied aggression in people. Now if we connect all doubts, they might have already are spread across our empire and trying to get us weak from the core and hence, their target would be our citizens. They may possibly be trying to form an allaince with our insiders to get the information and thats how, Marques death can be concluded, according to me. "
Felix finished his speech and purposfully eyed everyone in the throne room, but he was not that obvious. He knew, their true colors and he is not afraid to point out the truth.
They have the potential, so everyone are under the suspicion radar.
Alexander was totally silent after this and all the official as sported different expressions. Some were impressed by his deduction and some were in disbelief that a young boy, who didn't even have much experience in this throne room, managed to say that they could be potential betrayers.
In any case, Felix didn't care. He knew what he was doing. If they fight, then he can fight back. He also wants to see, who is foolish enough to fight back with a duke aka a generals son. Adding to that he is a part of imperial family blood line and direct nephew of the current emperor. On top of that, his sister might become the future empress. So who would dare to get on bad side with him? If they do, then they sure are dumbest in this whole empire.
Felix smirked being overpowered everyone present here with his status and power he held. Of course, he can't compare to his uncle or crown prince and his father, but after them, the most power is in his hands.Who could deny such fact?
"This is what I wanted to share with your highnesses and all the great officials." Felix respectfully bowed and proceeded to take his seat. Is that what called spitting venom while honey smeared on your lips?
Andrew was speechless. Felix has taken a risky step here. He is totally not accustomed to the throne room and the officials and he is going around passively accusing them. He has to talk to his son. Maybe, knock some sense and sense of speech into him.
Evan was thinking on what Felix has said. It is true and it seemed to justify his words. He had been wondering, how and what can trigger people. Now, that Felix gave an oppurtunity to see a bigger picture, he was satisfied with it.
He looked at Felix just when he was about to sit, and they made an eye contact. Evan smiled and nodded, which Felix gladly returned and resumed his poker face.
Evan smiled to himself. Felix would be in his throne room, no matter what. A good emperor is not someone who could do anything in everything and excel in everything he does. A good king is someone who could assign a person in the role they perfectly fit.
He knew, Feliz, that guy has a potential and isn't afraid to tell his words. And, mostly importantly his deducting skills are the best and he would be a fool to let go of a potential person like Felix.
Felix seems light hearted and care free, but the guy is a secret weapon in a disguise of a weakling. He was more than capable to be his royal advisor.
Alexander cleared his throat to speak and give out the final orders, "General Hendrel, round up your part of the army. Increase the security at the internal borders and see the check polls are installed and try not to make it suspicious. The Prince, would be leaving the first thing in the morning." Albert Hendrel bowed his head and stood back straight, waiting for his dismissial orders.
"General Wilson, increase the security, all around the country and borders. And the Palace security should be increased as well." Charles Wilson, bowed and he too, mimicked General Hendrel's actions and stood back straight. Since general Rutz would be going to west, his duties were shouldered on general Charles Wilson.
"General Rutz, there is no change in plans. You would be proceeding to the West for the negotiations, with part of your army. And, as said earlier, dispatch spies and informants and tell them to keep a very keen eye and immediate reports should be sent to the Palace, if seen anything major. "
Andrew Rutz, bowed his head and stood back up. Alexander raised from his seat and everyone else, raised as well.
"Gentlemen, I hope everyone would cooperate and contribute to the safety of our empire. Now, I suggest everyone to get to their duties and go ahead to plan accordingly. The court is dismissed."
Alexander finished with a firm nod and everyone bowed to him and uttered a final sentence in unison before leaving the throne room,
"Long live Seazle empire. Long live the emperor. "
