Chapter 208 - 188.9

Although, Chun had came with a realization, it wasn't enough to open the door.

(It means that although she had her conclusion and all but before that could be confirmed, she needed first to figure out how to unlock this knob-less door)

'How do we open it?' The black furball landed on the ground while he started to imitate a normal bird, pecking the strange door with his nonexistent beak.

'Currently, he isn't a bird. Why is he acting like one?'

The silver haired young man did not bother the dumb bird while she started to figure out the strange door.

While the black furball was pecking the doorsteps, Chun noticed a conspicuous markings at the ground, just beneath the door.

It wasn't a pattern but darkish-looking dried liquid.

Even the imitating bird Xiao Fen noticed it as well, and while he was near, he smelled an old rustic smell. Like it was…dried blood.

'Master! It's blood!'

Immediately, Chun crouched down and took out a handkerchief as she wiped the blocking dirt on the traces of dried blood.

It was really blood.

"Chi?"

"I don't know if my blood can open this but let me try."

The observing Xuan was interested what was behind that door which was not even present at the setting plot of the generated world but he was a lot more curious to the silver haired young man's actions.

He heard her statement. And playing as a helpful system, he confirmed Chun's guess.

Her blood could open the door but Xuan didn't know the reason. The main system just helped him examined it but it was the same result, it matched.

Chun cut a small nip on her palm using her air charm and blood spurted out from her fresh wound. She then pressed it at the center of the door.

Suddenly, like a bloodsucking creature, Chun felt a warm current flowing in while her blood was being suċkėd by the strange door. The blood proliferated and all of the markings turned red as it shone, blinding the silver haired young man's sight.

Chun didn't know that while the light was blinding her vision, she was being enveloped by it. Bringing her to an unfamiliar place. Meanwhile, Xiao Fen and Xuan was left behind.

The place she was in was similar with the white space inside the silver box but still it felt unusual.

The environment was not like the usual calm and quiet space, the sly deity would welcomed her with his deceitful smile because the one who welcomed her was the other persona of Pandora.

She had the same curve smile like Titus but hers was more of an open temptation, knowing it was dangerous but one would likely volunteer themselves to fall in her trap.

"Mistress, finally, you have come," The persona greeted her with its charming voice. The melodious tone and her lazy smile was setting off an alarm in the silver haired young man's mind.

But Chun was not patient enough to play with her charades. "Let's not pretend anymore. Where is it?"

"What do you mean?" The persona who had the face of Pandora or it might be not truly the face of Pandora but just its facade. No matter what, Chun wasn't the type to dilly dally.

The persona curled her lips in a mischievous smirk. She loved to play with this kind of serious person, knowing that 'he' was so handsome despite she was in disguised.

"I've been waiting for you. I never expected that we would be meeting here."

The silver haired young man frowned from her statement. The implication was obvious.

There was a momentary silence. The persona or let's call it 'Pandora' - smiled and puckered her lips in interest while observing the pretty boy.

"I'm the second one, right?"

'Second?' Chun thought.

Pandora knew the thoughts running in Chun's mind. Silence was a confirmation as well.

Pausing but not contemplating, the persona said, "Then let's start."

The silver haired young man braced herself. The first fragment put her through to a life and death scenario in which she should choose who to save and this one could be…

"You just need to answer three questions and I'll give you the fragment."

'That simple?'

Chun was conflicted. She would never trust a persona of Pandora, why? Let's call it as her instincts telling her not to believe 'herself' - well, her deity-self.

Pandora hummed then nodded thoughtfully.

"I'll begin. Are you ready?"

The silver haired young man looked directly at the direction of the smiling woman. Her white long hair was curly at its ends and the persona was playing it with her fingers while an amused smirk was plastered on her face.

"The first question is rejection. How do you define rejection?"

Surprisingly, it wasn't a riddle. Chun pondered.

She was in deep thought. She had not suspect that this was the first question but she should not answer with a simple thought.

If one put it in simple words, rejection is refusal. Opposition for a belief of the person who asked them. The receiver's refusal to the sender.

Putting it in a love language, rejection to the other party's courtship or attempts of courting. Then another one is the rejection to a business deal, a contract or just a simple attempt of an invitation to an event. There's so many chances of rejection in every situation but how one defines it, depends on the person.

The silver haired young man might be lazy and sometimes lacking with motivation but when it came to serious situations that needed careful thinking, she was like a wise person full of profound wisdom.

A flashed of careful consideration appeared on Chun's expression.

The persona was very observant while at the same time, patient like the time was running for her or the time wasn't even running in this space. The vast white space looking endless as ever was in a standstill as if the movement of time depended to the answer of the silver haired young man.

"I define rejection as a challenge," Her simple answer but direct meaning dealt a momentary surprise to the persona but she masked it with amusement.

"Good thought."

Pandora was then made silent after her response. The one question was just a mere opening.

The second was the desert and and the last one was the main course.

"Alright, the second question."

As if on cue, after the last word left the persona's mouth, the environment changed. The white space which seemed to be endless changed into a forest-like theme.

Pandora and Chun was standing in front of a cabin. The silver haired young man was about to ask the persona about the second question when suddenly a shout came from behind, interrupting her.

"Hey! You let us chase you but you're an idiot to make it easy for us," a man's voice resounded.

"Don't move. We'll shoot you." It was another man's voice but it was more deeper than the former.

Chun instinctively followed their words, it was not due to her will but this body's will. It felt like she was trapped to a body that she had no control off.

Although these sudden happenings baffled her but she saw that the woman with a mischivous smile seemed to be invisible to the two men who took hold of her. She ȧssumed that this was the second question.

The young woman was also bounded but it was on a metal chair with some kind of wirings around it. It felt like it had an electrocution function. The weird things was her vague face, it was all fogged up, not allowing Chun to see the other girl clearly but her memory while on this body was that this girl was her best friend.

While the silver haired young man was being tied as well on an identical metal chair but it has no wirings attached, the silent persona by the side suddenly opened her mouth.

She was unseen to the people inside the cabin but she could still communicate to the silver haired youth.

A smile hunged on her lips while she said, "This is the second question. If you were trapped in a body of your best friend or a loved one and the same with your best friend or loved one, they were trapped in your body, and the torturer wanted you to choose who to suffer the brunt of the torture. Who will you choose?"

The second question was irrefutably difficult but if Chun would tread with cautious steps then a good answer would suffice. The silver haired youth's head hunged low while she thought deeply.

And another thing to ponder was, the body that she was possessing was not hers and the body that the other was ocupying was hers. This was a choice of between body and soul or body and mind.

But there was another vital question.

Chun lifted her head and asked, "Can I go back to my body after the suffering?"

This was the trick test in this situation. It put one in deeper thinking but by carefully uncovering the situation, one would see that this was just a simple roundabout way of confusing the person who would be put in this happenstance.

Pandora did not responded, she just flicked her sleeves and the scenario vanished. They went back to the same white space.

She looked meaningfully at the silver haired young man while Chun was busy rubbing away the numbing pain of being suddenly bound.

"What is it?" Chun asked.

"You're good."

Then silence once again prevailed.
