26 What Are You Hiding

Fan MeiLi watched as Li Wei walked over to the sofa and waited for her to join him. Looking at the door that just closed, she wonders if running away would be the best choice of actions. As soon as she had the thought she felt a pain so bad she wanted to scream, she looked at Li Wei and sighed inside. When she woke up this morning she knew something was going to happen but whatever the CEO wanted wasn't going to put a smile on her face. Going over toward the sofa, she stood across from him waiting for him to speak.

Li Wei gave Fan MeiLi a cold look, "Why aren't you sitting down?" He asked.

Fan MeiLi felt shivers hearing his voice, it was cold and dark, "I didn't want to sit without permission, sir." She said with a smile sitting down in the process. The two people in the room looked at each other without saying a word, both having different thoughts going through minds.

All Fan MeiLi wanted to do was get this conversation over, glancing at her boss she wonders when he was going to start speaking. One minute became five minutes and the clock kept ticking, seeing that he was not going to start speaking any time soon, Fan MeiLi decided that she need to get the words flowing.

"Sir, what was it that you wished to speak to me about?" Fan MeiLi said in a small respectful voice.

Li Wei didn't say anything but grab a folder and looked through his files, "You are a very unique lady, miss Fan." He said lifting his eyes to look at her.

"I don't know what you mean."

"I had a background check on you to make sure you are a good fit at the company. I just find it interesting that you choose to lead a mundane life when you have great talents." He said putting the folder down and giving her a curious stare.

"Talents?"

"A prodigy at the violin, fluent in many languages, a very high IQ, and a wizard when it comes to computers."

Fan MeiLi heart started to pound when she heard his words, everything he said was true but what got her worried is the computer part. Only one person knows about her amazing talents in computers and that person found out three months ago. She kept her face calm, "Sir, I liked to learn things but just wants a peaceful life."

Li Wei let out a dark chuckle and gave Fan MeiLi a cold glare, "Miss Fan, I don't like talking in roundabout ways. Why did you apply to work at this company?" He asked her in a hard voice, making the room feel like a freezer.

"I was told that this is the best company in China, and as you said I have a lot of talents that would allow me to lead a peaceful life. Sir, any person could tell you that is the main reason they work." Fan MeiLi said with a bright smile.

"Is that the only reason you wished to work in this company?"

"I can tell you with one hundred percent certainty that I had no other reason to join but to earn enough so I can lead a calm, peaceful life."

Li Wei listens to Fan MeiLi without saying a word, deep in thought as he listens to her words. When he got her file, he figured that the one who sent him those secret reports about what was happening behind the scene in his company. While he was grateful to stop those who wished to harm him, he didn't like to have someone who could get his secrets. After hearing her words he changed his mind, Fan MeiLi really was a unique lady that could help him in the future.

"Miss Fan, I hate being lied to but I believe I have a solution to the problem in front of me." Li Wei said giving her a wicked smile.

Fan MeiLi felt a sense of dread and worry, glancing at the door she still wonders if she could make a run and make it out of the company safely.
