28 Proposed Compromise 2

"A plan? What kind of plan?" Fan MeiLi asked with confusion in her voice.

"I need some help and I believe you could be the right person for the job."

Fan MeiLi was still confused, she was already his personal assistant so what other job was Li Wei talking about.

Leaning forward, Li Wei looked at Fan MeiLi, "Miss Fan, I need a fake girlfriend by my side and I believe you could help me with this problem.

"Girlfriend? What are you talking about, sir?" Fan MeiLi asked tilting her head.

"I have a lot of enemies who try to get females next to me only to destroy me, and I also have my mother trying to set me up with young ladies. As you could see by the annoying lady earlier, my mother doesn't have the best choices with picking out people. If I had someone by my side I could get my business done and not have to worry about so many enemies every day. Li Wei stated never breaking eye contact.

Fan MeiLi calmly listened but still was having a hard time putting her head around the information and looked at Li Wei weirdly. In China, Li Wei would be named the number one guy for any woman, he had power, looks, and wealth; so why did he need to choose her to be his fake girlfriend.

"Sir, I don't understand why you need me for this plan, you could choose any female you meet and I'm sure they'll help you with a smile.

Li Wei smiled and completely understood where Fan MeiLi's thoughts were going and he felt choosing her was really the correct idea. "I could choose someone else but I believe you are the best choice because of what I know."

"Know?"

"Miss Fan, let's not play games, you do know that hacking is a serious crime, correct?" Li Wei asked giving Fan MeiLi a dark, cold gaze.

Fan MeiLi's heart started to pound, not liking where that question would lead. Giving her boss and even equal gaze she toughens her voice, "Sir, where are you going with this?"

"I have some friends in the national security bureau, with your skill I'm sure you're not an ordinary person."

"CEO Li, are you threatening me?" Fan MeiLi asked narrowing her eyes. The weird feeling started to die down and she realizes that it was this moment that made her stay. Now knowing why she was here only started to make her angry, and she was having a hard time calming her emotions. In this world, she hated others trying to force her what to do and really hated other's threatening her way of life.

"A threat? Not at all, miss Fan it was a hard fact."

Feeling her blood boiled, Fan MeiLi stood up in anger, "Sir, you can do whatever you wish but I'll have no part in your plan." Finishing her words, she walked toward the door.

"Hacker Rose." Li Wei calmy stated.

Hearing that name stopped Fan MeiLi in her tracks and looking over her shoulder. She wasn't sure before that Li Wei had all the facts about her being a hacker but hearing the name she had to wonder how he figured her secret.

Li Wei stood up and walked toward Fan MeiLi, "I know who you are and everything you did under the name hacker Rose. More importantly, I know what would happen if others found out who you are and what you do. So I proposed a compromise, a way for both of us to live our lives and keep our secrets safe."

"If you know about the things Hacker Rose has done in secret then you should also know she did everything for a good cause." Fan MeiLi said looking at Li Wei.

"I do but the police won't care and neither would the public because it's still a crime. If you don't want the good task you accomplished to disappear than agree to my proposal."

Looking down at the floor, Fan MeiLi felt like she was put in a hard spot and was really unwilling to bend her pride. Letting out a sigh she looked back at her boss with a tight heart, even if she wasn't happy she couldn't let the things she did as a hacker be revealed our many lives would be ruined.

"CEO Li, let me think about this proposal and I'll give you my answer in three days time. I know you could reveal my secret at any time but this is still something that affects my life."

Li Wei could understand her point of view and saw no problem with letting her wrap her mind around the whole situation. "Very well, take some time but make no mistake that I always do as I say and if you run the whole world will know." He said in cold voice that made Fan MeiLi freeze.

Grabbing the door handle, Fan MeiLi turned it but stopped and looked at Li Wei, "I have to know one thing, how did you know I was the one who sent you the file?"

Li Wei already back at his desk sat down, "The first information I couldn't figure out who sent it but the second one could only be done by someone who attended the gala. I personally checked the security footage, your red dress was really unique and caught my eye. You weren't my only option but was the one who made me interest to understand."

By the time Fan MeiLi was on the elevator she had a frown on her face and was cursing her weird feelings. In the end, that red dress that caught her eye became the bright target for the king to shoot at and she was the only loser in this game.
