29 A Contract is Made

Fan MeiLi was holed up in her apartment for the whole day thinking of a way out of her situation. After her little meeting with CEO Li, she found out he did have some connections with the national security bureau and could easily reveal her identity. Sitting in her living room, Fan MeiLi let out a huge sigh, knowing her fate was sealed when she walked into Li Wei's office that day.

The ringing of her phone brought her out of her sad thoughts, looking at the screen she saw that it was Zhang Jing.

"Hello?"

"Hey girl, what's going on? You sound a little depressed." Zhang Jing asked hearing the sadness in her best friends voice.

Fan MeiLi smiled a little when she heard Zhang Jing's question, even without seeing her she always has a sixth sense whenever she was down. "I'm fine, just some things going on at work. What about you, how are you doing?"

"I'm great! My boss picked my proposal for a huge project that we are undertaking and I'm in charge. It's my first real solo job since I started here and I'm super excited." Zhang Jing squealed on the phone.

Fan MeiLi was really happy for her friend, knowing how hard she worked to get her name known in her field. Zhang Jing wanted people to know about her accomplishment and not think she got it because of her family's name, so she personally picked a field away from her family's company. She learned many things but came to love designing and worked hard from the bottom. It took two years but it seems her superiors are now seeing the wonderful talent that Fan MeiLi knew her best friend always had inside her.

"I'm so happy for you, I can't wait to see your designs when your project's complete."

"MeiLi, this could be the start of something big, soon people will be dying to have the collection of Zhang Jing." She said in a high voice.

After talking for two hours, Fan MeiLi's spirit rose and she wasn't as depressed about her predicament as before. Standing up she felt a new sense of determination flow through her, she couldn't change the situation but she could make it work in her favor. Even though CEO Li is a rude and cold jerk in her opinion, he was still a powerful guy that made people think twice before crossing his path.

Fan MeiLi saw lots of problems that will occur with Li Wei's plan, mostly the crazy ladies that will come to harass her because of her status. Even when Fan MeiLi thought of many cons, she still thought that Li Wei could give her a semi-peaceful life for a short while. With those thoughts in her mind, Fan MeiLi decided accepting Li Wei's proposal was the best idea at the very least she will be able to keep the good as hacker Rose alive.

Fan MeiLi told Li Wei to give her three days but she already made up her mind to agree to his demands. Besides, to her boss, he had all the cards and was probably already expecting her to accept or be arrested for hacking.

Taking a deep breath, Fan MeiLi found her courage and knocked on the CEO's door. Hearing a deep voice grant entry, Fan MeiLi opened the door and saw Li Wei at his desk working on some files.

Li Wei lifted his head to see Fan MeiLi enter, putting down his files he stood up and motioned her to join him at the sofa. "Seeing that you are here a day early, you come to your decision?" Li Wei asked the nervous young lady across from him.

"I will agree to your proposal but this is just a job and as such a contract is needed." Fan MeiLi stated in a serious voice pulling out an official contract she put together.

Li Wei looked over the contract and found her demands wasn't unreasonable and was about to sign but stopped. "Miss Fan, this contract is good but there are some parts that are in need of change."

"Changes? Which part?"

"If you are my girlfriend in the eye of the public, I should have some contact with you. Also, I mostly created this plan for my family sake so you'll have to meet them at some point. Lastly, I'll agree to end this in a timely matter but if you create a situation that causes misunderstanding, you'll pay a great fine.

"What! This plan is for your sake, so I should have the right to make my own rules." Fan MeiLi yelled with wide eyes. According to him, she should let him kiss her and deceive some elders, all while making his life better.

"You don't have to agree to my terms but the world would know your identity before the day is over." Li Wei said giving her dark glare.

Fan MeiLi tighten her fist and nodded her head in agreement with an unwilling heart and anger in her blood. She has done too much as Hacker Rose to let it be ruin by some cold, rude CEO jerk of a boss.

Seeing her agree, Li Wei pulled out his own contract and waited for her to sign. He could tell that she was unwilling and hated this whole situation but he could care less about her problem. To him, Fan MeiLi was just a useful person that could get rid of the problems bugging him while he worked on making his company even better.

If Fan MeiLi knew what was going on in Li Wei's head then she would have given him a piece of her mind, no matter the consequences. While signing the contract, Fan MeiLi had a little idea pop in her mind and took a small glance at Li Wei. As his fake girlfriend, she'll send a lot of time around him so maybe she works her magic and help him change into a better person. Not a complete change but maybe she could help him become less of a cold iceberg and into an understanding man of society.
