31 Night of Surprises 1

Holding onto Li Wei's arm, Fan MeiLi looked at the beautifully decorated restaurants. Even though she hated being forced to attend this business dinner with Li Wei, she really wanted to try the food at the restaurant on Millie Ave. Zhang Jing once went to a corporate dinner at an Italian shop on Millie Ave and she always talked about how the price was worth the food. This street had the best-rated shops in China, but only the most powerful and wealthy could enjoy its brand.

While Fan MeiLi made enough money to live a stress-free life, it didn't mean she would throw money away for fun. So putting on a bright smile, Fan MeiLi tried to decide to make the best of the evening and enjoy the free meal.

The water led the duo to a private dining room, inside there were two men and a lady chatting with each other. Upon seeing Li Wei the group quieted down and stood to greet him with smiles and warm welcomes.

"Li Wei, you finally graced us with your presence." A blonde hair guy said with a smile. From the way Li Wei smiled and the way he returned the greeting, Fan MeiLi could tell that these business partners were close friends. All of sudden, she could feel a heated stare on her, looking around she found the beautiful lady looking right at her with questions in her eyes.

Feeling weird, she squeezed Li Wei's arm to get his attention. Since he brought her here to play a role than he should do his part as well. Feeling a tug on his arm, Li Wei noticed Fan MeiLi glancing at him with nervousness. Leading her to the table, he got the other's attention.

"Everyone, I would like to introduce you to my girlfriend, Fan MeiLi." He said with a smile.

Hearing his words everyone was shocked, especially the short red-haired lady, Emily Xu. It was a deep secret of hers that she was deeply in loved with Li Wei, and she always tried to keep a close relationship with him. Even when his mother tried to fix him up other women, she never worried because Li Wei never put them in his heart.

Trying to keep her emotions from exploding, Emily Xu put on a forced smile, " Li Wei, when did you start a relationship? Last, I heard you were stilla single bachelor looking for love." She asked.

Fan MeiLi almost laughed after hearing Emily Xu's question and took a quick glance at Li Wei. She couldn't believe this cold guy was ever on the prowl for love.

On the other hand, Li Wei was calm, "As you know I'm a reserved person when it comes to my personal life, so I kept my relationship quiet. It worked for both of us but now I have to bring it to light to keep my mother from setting me on a more arranged date with random women." He said giving Fan MeiLi a loving stare.

Returning his affection, Fan MeiLi could only roll her eyes on the inside. She wanted to clap at how easily Li Wei could make up that story and still have the gall to make a loving expression. Emily was so upset and wanted to hit Fan MeiLi. She has known Li Wei since their days in high school and he never made such a caring face toward her. Looking at Fan MeiLi, she found that the woman in front of her wasn't anything special. She only had a slightly pretty face, but Emily Xu believed she was still better if the two were compared.

While Emily was on the brink of exploding from Li Wei's news, the others were still in a state of shock. All of them were business partners but still close friends, so hearing Li Wei publicly announce his girlfriend was a first for them. The dark-haired, glasses guy was the first to break the silence, "So our cold emperor finally found his empress." He said with a chuckle.

The blonde haired guy also chimed in, "You have great taste Li Wei, she looks like a kind lady." Lastly, the guy who was quiet all this time finally spoke up, "Tell us, miss. When did you start dating this guy, he can't be easy to get along with considering his personality."

Hearing his statement, Li Wei glared at his friend James Lu. While the guy is a renowned lawyer he stills gives off the same vibes as Li Wei, which is probably why the two are close friends.

James let out a chuckle and raised his hands, "Li Wei, you don't have to glare at me, I was just curious. "Don't you know the saying, curiosity killed the cat." Li Wei said in a cold voice.

Adam Xing the blond haired guy felt the pressure raising in the room so he interpreted the conversation, "Okay, let's calm down and enjoy our evening. How about we order then our guy Li Wei can tell us more about his girl."

Everyone agreed with his idea and started to browse the menu. When Fan MeiLi saw the prices of the dish her eyes went wide in surprise. Even though she knew Li Wei was paying for her meal, she still didn't want to spend crazily.

Li Wei noticed that Fan MeiLi was hesitating so he leaned down and whispered in his ear, "Don't worry about anything and play your part and order anything you want."

"Have you seen the prices, I can't let you pay for such a fancy meal."

"You're supposed to be my girlfriend and I would never let my girl worry about things such as a meal."

"Fine but don't get upset if I order the most pricy dish and dessert." Fan MeiLi whispered giving him a sly smirk.

Li Wei smiled at seeing the little tiger in Fan MeiLi start to awaken once more and let out a low chuckle and continued to browse the menu.
