33 Night of Surprises 3

Li Wei saw Fan MeiLi looking slightly red and it made him raise a brow at her in confusion. "Are you okay?" He asked whispering in her ear.

Fan MeiLi took a deep breath and gave him a calm smile, "I'm fine just a little worried."

"Worried? What about?"

"I don't know how much you wanted me to speak tonight and it seemed that you're in need of some help." Fan MeiLi said with a smirk.

Li Wei wouldn't deny that he was intrigued and wanted to see where Fan MeiLi was going with her statement. Taking out her phone and she showed him a picture from two years ago and smiled hoping he would understand her meaning.

Li Wei took Fan MeiLi's phone and was shocked, he let out a dark chuckled and wondered what other surprises this little tiger had in store for him. Emily Xu focused on the two of them after noticing that Li Wei wasn't contributing to the conversation. She really wished she could yell and hit Fan MeiLi, she tried to exclude her like the outsider she was but that slut still found a way to get Li Wei's attention.

"Li Wei, what's wrong?" She asked seeming all the sincere and concerned.

Li Wei lifted his head and gave each other a cold smile, "Everything's fine. My girl was just giving me a surprise but was a little shy to announce it in front of everyone."

"Surprise? What kind of surprise?" Adam Xing asked feeling curious.

Li Wei didn't bother answering and showed the other Fan MeiLi's phone when the others looked at the photo they were surprised. It showed Fan MeiLi and Jenny Young hanging out together and working together. James Lu gave the phone back and looked at Fan MeiLi with a smile, "So Miss Fan tell us about how you know the CEO of JY Jewelry."

Fan MeiLi felt better after telling Li Wei about her connection with Jenny Young and the weird feeling pain started to dim and she was calm once more. Putting her phone away, she looked at the group, "I have known Jenny since before she started her company when I was living abroad the two of us were roommates until her company rose off the ground. We still kept in contact and we have been friends ever since I was just shocked to hear about the partnership between the two companies."

James nodded his head and could figure out where Li Wei's thoughts were going when he saw Fan MeiLi's photo. If this young miss could talk to her friend and convince her to sign the contract then the project would be a shining success. Adam Xing was also impressed, he knew that James hated having to rely on his family for help but now Fan MeiLi could solve all our problems.

Emily Xu clenched her fist and bit the inside of her lip, she couldn't believe the luck Fan MeiLi held. First, she took the love of her life away and now she could solve the problem the group was having for months, it was like fate was messing with her and laughing.

"Do you believe you get Miss Young on board with the project of SX mall." Li Wei asked looking at Fan MeiLi.

Looking back, Fan MeiLi shook her head, "I said I could possibly help but I can't be sure, the two of us are friends but I never got involved in her business. I'll ask her but I advise you have a back-up plan just in case."

Li Wei agreed with her notion and was about to respond but was cut off by Emily, "Oh no! None of us want to put you in an awkward position with your friend. Li Wei, maybe we should forget about working with JY Jewelry and go with James's alternate idea."

Li Wei instantly declined, "I wished for any of my projects to be perfect and have high success. Even if Jenny Young is being difficult she has a great talent which made her number one in her field, and I wished toshowcase that talent."

Emily frowned and looked down, she felt that Li Wei was scolding her for dismissing his original idea. "I'm sorry, I just didn't want to put your girlfriend in a difficult position." She said with a sad smile.

Li Wei didn't say anything more and believed this dinner should come to an end, "Since we finished our conversation and came up with a plan, I believe we can end this evening."

Sensing that Li Wei was a little upset, James and Adam agreed and started to pack up to leave. Emily was a little disappointed and upset, she didn't want Li Wei to leave but she had no way to stop him and could only sadly pack up her things.

Fan MeiLi was super happy to finish this evening and leaving this uncomfortable situation. Seeing Li Wei standing, Fan MeiLi grabbed her purse and prepared to follow him out of the room. Just before she reached the door she felt a hand on her shoulder, making her turn around to see Emily Xu.

"Miss Fan, I'm so happy to meet you and I hope we could be friends," Emily said with a smile.

Fan MeiLi held a calm smile and just stared at Emily, she could feel that the lady in front of her didn't like her and her smiles never reached her eyes. Since she wasn't getting her weird feelings, Fan MeiLi knew that keeping her distance away from Emily wouldn't harm her in any way.

"Miss Xu, I think you're a kind lady and would be happy to know you better." Fan MeiLi stated with the exact same emotion that Emily was giving to her. Emily Xu felt that something was off with Fan MeiLi's answer but couldn't put her finger on the problem.

After saying their goodbyes, Li Wei and Fan MeiLi left the restaurant and entered his private car. Once inside, Fan MeiLi let out a long sigh and could finally breathe better, not caring about Li Wei looking at her with cold eyes.

Seeing his stare, Fan MeiLi gave him a stare of her own, "What?"

"Feeling relief?"

"Of course! Do you realize how much I worked tonight not to act suspiciously in front of your business partners? I couldn't really enjoy my meal because of I so uncomfortable." Fan MeiLi said with a frown.

"Oh? You feel like you suffered?" He said in a cold icy voice.

Not liking his question, Fan MeiLi looked out the window and enjoyed the scenery, "I didn't suffer it was just a lot of pressure in that room. Besides it wasn't all bad I did get to enjoy a great meal at one of the shops on Millie Ave." Fan MeiLi said a smile.

Li Wei didn't respond and just looked at the unique woman sitting next to him, this little tiger really is something. The two stopped talking and drove home in silence both having different thoughts playing through their minds.
