49 Aftermath

Fan MeiLi was sitting at one of the tables, waiting for Li Wei to finish speaking with the police. "Oh my god! I can't believe I was able to witness such a grand show." Zhang Jing said with glee, sitting down next to Fan MeiLi.

She could only smile at hearing Zhang Jing's words, "I'm happy you enjoyed yourself, I was very nervous for tonight." Fan MeiLi said letting out a breath.

"Please, you had nothing to worry about. My friend, you were amazing tonight, brave and kind."

"Thanks for saying that, I hope the Li family feels the same way." Fan MeiLi stated noticing Li Wei coming their way.

Zhang Jing just shook her head when she heard Fan MeiLi and gave her a smile, "Listen! I'm sure this isn't the way you expected to meet your boyfriend's parents. Just look on the bright side, compared to that Sarah woman, you'll look one hundred times better in their eyes." She said standing up.

Before she could respond, Li Wei came and interrupting their conversation, "Sorry, Miss Zhang, but I'm going to have to steal MeiLi away." He said while offering his hand to Fan MeiLi. Giving Zhang Jing a smile, she took his hand and walked away to one of the hotel's private lounges.

Once alone Fan MeiLi gave him a cunning smirk, "So, did I do a good job, CEO Li. I hope I lived up to my role as the Hansoo Group's CEO's girlfriend."

Grabbing a drink and sitting on the sofa, Li Wei let out a chuckle, "You did a fine job, Miss Fan. I have to say I was impressed by the speech you gave Sarah Wu. It really made me see you in a different light and I'll have to say the same goes with my family." He said then taking a sip of his drink.

Sitting on the sofa across from him with her arms cross, "That's wonderful. If your mother warms up to me that she will stop bothering you with blind dates and random matchmaking."

"You were worried about such a thing?" Li Wei asked tilting his head.

"Of course! Sir, you might not know but high society woman is hard to please especially when it comes to their children. If you are known as the cold emperor than that would make your mother the queen dowager. I have to become your empress then I need to show my worth in front of your mother." Fan MeiLi said in a serious voice.

Li Wei wasn't shocked by her words, everything she said was correct but he was a little surprised she planned and thought so far ahead. Closing his eyes and taking another sip of his drink he was once again happy about his choice of choosing Fan MeiLi for his plan.

After the two had their private conversation, they joined the Li Family before they left for the evening. When Madam Li saw Fan MeiLi she came over and took her hand, "I'm so sorry, my dear. I was hoping this was going to be a wonderful night, and I was looking forward to meeting the girl who captured my son's heart." She said with a frown.

"Don't worry, Madam Li, none of us could have expected the night to turn so chaotic. Besides, I did have a lovely time meeting you and the rest of the Li family."

"If it wasn't for that crazy child Sarah, the night would have been perfect. We should have a redo, how about we have lunch together?"

"That sounds great! Li Wei can give you my number and you can call me when you choose the date and I'll be ready." Fan MeiLi said giving Madam Li a bright smile.

Madam Li returned the smile and bid the couple goodnight, leaving Li Wei and Fan MeiLi in the empty banquet hall. This shocked Fan MeiLi because she thought Zhang Jing would have waited for her so they could leave together. Seeing her confusion Li Wei spoke up, "If you're worried about your friend, you don't have to be, I had Mo Han send her home." He said leading to the exit.

"Thank you for that, CEO Li. I guess I'll see you on Monday at the office." Fan MeiLi said going toward the front doors only to be stopped by Li Wei.

Surprised by his actions she gave him a confused face, "Miss Fan, the world now sees you as my girlfriend. What kind of guy would I be if I sent you home unescorted?" He asked with raised eyebrows.

Looking out the doors, Fan MeiLi still saw some reporters hanging around probably waiting for Li Wei to exit. For a moment, she forgot that she was still playing a role at the big bosses woman, all she wanted was to go home and sleep. Taking his arm and smiling up at him, "Sorry about the moment of forgetfulness, CEO Li. Shall we go and give the onlookers a good story to write for tomorrow news.

"I already believe they have a full plate but a little dessert won't hurt them." Li Wei said to hold her hand as they left the hotel ignoring the shots of the reports and getting into Li Wei's car.
