'You are done for!' Patrick smirked as his hand reached out to grab the man whose half body was inside the car while the other half was outside.
Patrick positioned himself behind the man and swiftly grabbed his neck after which he yanked him out of the car.
A deep groan left the mouth of the creep who had been snooping around Lina's car when he felt the tight grasp around his neck.
Wade was about to peep into the car to look for Lina's whereabouts but he froze when he heard that voice.
'I know that voice!' He glanced at the face of the intruder with a puzzled look on his own face.
Wade leered at the face which was so similar to his own and scowled in disgust.
"What the hell are you doing here!?" He bellowed at the man who was trying to escape from Patrick's hold.
Uncle Pat noticed the strange atmosphere between his nephew and the intruder and only then did he bother to look at the face of the man he had been holding.
"Wayne?" He called out, now having the same puzzled look as Wade had earlier.
Wayne Luo turned sideways and gave his uncle a sheepish chuckle.
"Can you please let go of my neck?" He requested and sighed when he felt the pressure around his neck relax.
Patrick did not mean to almost strangle his nephew, he was just trying to catch the man who was breaking into his beloved niece's car.
Thinking of the car, Patrick was reminded of the real reason why they were here.
"Where is Nana?" He inquired while peeping into the car only to find it empty with no trace of her inside.
Wade hurried to take a look himself and found that she wasn't there.
Panic and anxiety were once again entering his mind as he tried to make out why her car was parked on this stranded and abandoned road yet she was nowhere to be found.
"Uncle Pat… Do you think the legend about the haunted road is real?" He muttered his terrifying thoughts.
Wade yelped in fear when he felt a hand grabbing his shoulder and quickly jumped away.
He turned around and growled in anger when he saw that the hand which he was imagining to be the ghost was just his elder twin who was also cowering in fear.
'I had not realized that this is that haunted road until Wade said those words!' Wayne gritted his teeth at his little brother who only knew how to make trouble for him.
Patrick was getting a headache just by looking at the two fully-grown men who were acting like toddlers.
"Enough with your nonsense! We need to figure out where Nana went and why exactly is her car here?" He dictated, embracing the role of the only level headed adult here.
The twins immediately stopped their petty fights and came to a consensus of putting the need to find their sister above their feud.
"Why are you here anyway? I thought you don't care about us any longer." Wade murmured in a disgruntled tone.
Wayne heard his brother's whining words and rolled his eyes.
"Uncle Ace told me what happened when I reached home." He revealed how he knew of Lina being missing.
"And I still care about my baby sister!" He scoffed at his twin for even getting an idea otherwise.
Patrick was silent since Wally had told him that there was something that Wayne was keeping a secret from them.
However, Wade was not silent. In fact, he was quite vocal in his animosity with his brother.
"The man who took an outsider's side in a fight does not care about his family." He declared and then hopped into the car.
He ignored Wayne's hurt appearance and then tried to start the car but to no avail.
"Looks like her car broke down in the middle of nowhere." Patrick frowned when he came to this conclusion.
Certainly, there was something wrong with this occurrence as the car was weekly checked and Derek made sure to keep it in pristine working conditions.
The other two men had come to the same conclusion and their eyes darkened.
'Someone was trying to pull something here!' Wayne grimaced and then went to check on the engine of the car.
Just a few minutes and he was able to find what was wrong and what had caused Lina's car to break down.
"So are you telling me that someone did this on purpose?" Patrick gritted his teeth while making sure that he had understood the situation properly.
'Not only were the brakes messed with, but even the fuel was also emptied?' He examined and felt something weird about this situation.
"If the person wanted to hurt Nana then why empty her fuel tank? This way she would never be able to reach the speed that would cause the brakes to fail.' Wayne thought out loud.
A deep and complicated silence engulfed the three men who were trying to comprehend this confusing scenario.
If the perpetrator had serious intentions of hurting Lina then he or she would never have drained the fuel.
Hence this could only mean one thing.
"This was a warning they sent us!" Patrick growled and punched his fist into his other palm.
Wayne had already come to that conclusion but what was more important right now was to find the exact location of Lina.
"We need to find her quick! What if this was a kidnapping?" He was worried that his cute sister was being held hostage somewhere.
His mind went to the time that Reuben had revealed to them that he had handled a few members of the Blind Eagle gang who were planning to abduct Lina at his club.
This made his hands move faster as he plugged his phone into the car's jack. He did not bother about Wade's curious eyes and kept tapping the screen of his phone.
Within seconds, the car's navigation system was back online.
"Restrindigo?" He muttered the name which felt familiar to him.
'Did I sleep with someone in that apartment?' He tried to remember if there was beauty in the said apartment.
When Wade heard the name, a light bulb glowed in his brain and he understood exactly what his little sister had in mind as she ran out of Yang Manor.
'That is where Reuben stays!' He scowled at the big bad wolf who had the audacity to make Lina rush all the way to his place.
'So not a gentleman!' He shook his head in dismay at this worthless excuse of a man whom he called his best friend.
While Wade was cursing Reuben and Wayne was trying to recall where he had heard that name before, Patrick was certain that he knew the reason.
"That is where Benji rented a house." He disclosed the right reason why Lina had driven out in the night.
Wade froze in self-doubt and then nodded his head.
Wayne was still trying to overwork his brain because he was certain that this was not how he had heard that name.
"So if she wanted to meet Benji but her car broke down… then how did she reach her destination?" Patrick rubbed his chin while trying to come up with an answer.
Wayne stopped his attempts of finding the name of the hot woman whom he might have slept with and turned to Patrick with a grave look on his face.
"Or… If she even reached her destination." His ominous words combined with a dog's howl somewhere in the distance made Wade shudder in fear.
"Shut up! Keep your mouth shut if you can't say anything nice!" He snarled at Wayne.
"Just track her phone and give us the location. After that, you can go to hell, you traitor!" He scoffed while giving him orders on what to do.
Wayne looked at him as though he was the biggest fool on the planet earth.
"You think that was not the first thing I tried? I cannot connect to her phone, she seems to be out of the network zone!" He deadpanned which made Wade turn pink in shame.
'This guy is a stalker with a degree after all.' Wade rolled his eyes but kept silent.
"Can't we just call Benji and ask whether Lina reached his place?" Patrick offered after staying silent this whole time as they argued as little children.
This time, it was both the young men who turned red in embarrassment that they had not thought of such an easy solution.
Wade hurried to find Benji's contact and gave him a call.
A few seconds later, his call was answered and he was able to speak to Lina's faithful assistant.
Patrick and Wayne felt like they were standing on pins and needles while Wade was on the call.
"Thank you, Benji. Get her to the office safely." They heard him finish his talk and then sigh.
Noticing the intense gazes aimed at him, Wade turned around and gave them a positive nod.
"She reached his place and is currently asleep. Benji did not know that she had car troubles so it looks like she somehow managed to reach his place without any problems." He summarized his conversation with Benji.
The three of them were relieved that their precious Nana was safe but now was not the time to rest as something else needed their urgent attention.
