The video which Benji had been so kind as to forward to every employee of Obsidia, had the face of a single woman all over it.
The image of Maxene Kang as she entered the break room of the Marketing Department, spoke to the women after making herself a cup of coffee was clear for everyone to see.
After she had completed the conversation with the group of women, the smirk she had displayed when she thought that no one was watching her seemed devious to the ones watching the video at this moment.
The video cut out with the image of Maxene dumping the cup of coffee into a flower pot on one of the desks elicited a gasp from the woman whose flower had died without any possible causes.
"You killed my plant?" The woman cried out when she saw that the cause of death of her precious plant was this vicious woman.
Lina let out an abrupt chuckle which was thankfully suppressed by Stephen's loud cough.
"Noona! How many times should I keep saving you today?" He whined into her ear when he saw that everyone was looking at him.
Lina stuck out her tongue and shot him an apologetic gaze when she noticed that he had been watching over her from when he had taken her side.
"Thank you, my little watchful angel!" She praised him wholeheartedly as he had done a lot to help her.
Steph blushed upon hearing the words of praise being aimed at him and he smiled until his dimples were visible causing Lina to smile in return.
While Lina and Stephen were in their cute little bubble of sibling love, Leon was trying to hold onto the woman whose plant had sacrificed its life.
"You monster!" She yelled at Maxene who was glaring daggers at this bullshit being directed at her.
"Enough!" Wade growled while rubbing the space between his brows.
He glanced at Leon who hurried to escort the agitated woman to another room to calm her down.
'People love plants more than other people!' Leon remarked as he sighed because now he would miss out on the main course of this drama.
In his absence, the situation had quietened down as the source of the ruckus had left along with him.
"Now where were we?" Wade questioned as he turned his gaze towards the woman at trial.
The focus was turned back to the one who was standing with her head held high, causing people to frown upon her behavior.
"What exactly does that video prove, VP Luo?" She interrogated with her eyes narrowed.
At first, Maxene had surely panicked but once she recalled that she had a safety net called Talia's Jewelry to fall back to, she became fearless.
Her entire confidence and devil may care attitude could have contributed to her faith in the Zheng sisters who had promised to take her in after her task had been completed.
Stuart was appalled to see her brazen words and he felt ashamed as he was the one who had taken her into Obsidia.
"Why were you in the break room and don't you dare say that you were there to make yourself a cup of coffee!?" He scowled at her while pointing at the screen in his hand.
The video showed that she had taken two sips at best before dumping the hot beverage onto the innocent plant, thus killing it.
"I did not like it and hence dumped it before getting myself another cup from the barista down the street." Maxene replied with utmost confidence as that was what had happened.
If one had checked the video footage after the plant murder scene, they would notice that Maxene had done just what she had announced so fearlessly.
Benji smirked when he heard her seemingly valid justification and tapped his screen once again.
"If that is so… Then explain this!" He tossed those words after right before the entire room was filled with notification pings once again.
This time, the employees hurried to watch the video as they knew that they would get to see something entertaining.
"Heh!? Why is it the same video all over again?" One young man pondered out loud as he watched the video.
The young lady next to him smacked his head and pointed at the people on the screen.
"Those are not from our branch, you idiot!" She scoffed at this blind man who did not know how to differentiate people.
"Neither is that our break room!" Another voice was heard among the crowd.
Upon taking a closer look, they noticed that the entire scene had been repeated but in a different setting with different people.
"What do you have to say for yourself now? Oh let me guess, you had some work with someone in the Jewelry department as well?" Stuart Bai openly mocked the woman who had lost all his respect by now.
Maxene bit her lips as she tried to figure something out in order to save herself from falling lower in the eyes of this man who had accepted her into this company.
If there was someone she cared about even just a little, then that person would be Director Bai who had always encouraged her to do her best.
Even when he knew that she was going to leave the company, he had tried to get her to stay but her departure had already been finalized.
Now, all she wished was to complete her task before leaving while not ruining her image in his eyes.
Sadly, she was a little too late as all she could see in his eyes right now was scorn and disgust which made her feel irked.
"Is it a crime to visit a friend!?" She cried out with tears now welling up in her eyes.
Lina scrutinized her expressions and was sure that these were real tears rather than the fake ones that she would usually conjure in a moment's time.
'So, Stuart holds a special place in her heart?' She speculated and the chances of this being true were high.
She too had come to like Stuart as an elder in the short time that she had stayed in this office, therefore, it was a given that Maxene who had been here for longer would do the same.
"Is this your friend?" Kirk Douglas, Wade's assistant who had been silent all along spoke up.
