Chapter 28：His Monster Wife

Today is Saturday,

Aslan still sleep soundly on the bed, while Athena took a bath and went down to the kitchen making breakfast and bring it to the couch on the living room.

She turn on the television and start to munch on her sandwich.

Aslan open his eye when he heard Athena close the door. Rub his face a little, he flipping the comforter that covering his naked body to half. Sit up on the bed, he turn to look at his side.

Remembering what he do last night with Athena makes him blushed and he hide his smile. He look at the stain which is still on the bed.

"Oh fuck! Her blood. What did you do As..Its shorten her life." he start to feel regret. He was happy, but at the same time he feel guilty to her. Because of his greedy need, she need to sacrifice her few years of life.

After some time, he finally get up from the bed and went to the bathroom.

When he go downstairs, he saw Athena was eating her breakfast while watching a show on the television.

"Hey, morning." like always, he leaned to her and kiss her forehead.

"Morning."

"Are feeling alright?" he ask, worried about her.

"Huh?" Athena look up and scrunch her eyebrow. Not clear with his question.

Clearing his throat, he said "Ahem..I mean..are you okay? Did I tired you out?" he looked at the other way. Blushed a bit.

Athena also blushed. She hid her face with lowering her head. "Umm. Yeah..Its a bit hurt. But I'll be just fine."

Hearing a word of 'hurt' making him suddenly turn to her again. "Hurt? Do you want me to call my mom? She's a great doctor. Maybe she can check on you.."

"Whoa..easy..I'm fine..really." she calm him down.

Sit beside her, he leaned his head to the couch.

"Hey..I'm sorry. About the blood."

Athena suddenly remember about the blood. Her face turn red as she immediately said. "Oh, don't worry. I'll change the bed sheet now."

She put the plate on the table and ready to get up. Aslan immediately grab her hand when she want to go.

"Wait, that's not it." he make her sit back.

"Eh, then?"

"I..your life span..I took it from you. I'm so sorry." he said with a guilty tone in his voice.

Athena silent a moment. She try to find a good word for him, so that he will not feel sorry about it.

"Its..its just few years of my life. I don't mind though.I use it on something that I really want. I don't regret it at all. So, you shouldn't feel trouble by it. I really am okay with wasting it on you." she smile and stroke his back of his hand.

Aslan bring her to his embrace and kiss her lips. "Thanks."

"And now..here is the cute photo of our favorite celebrity. Jye Yin with her 'secret' boyfriend. The rumored said that this picture is taken at the National Art Gallery yesterday. As we all know, that Jye Yin is now in tour program. And she was invited to the grand gala exhibition here, in Imperial City. Athena look up to him when she heard the news on the television. She went back to sit properly while her eyes fixed on the screen, watching the picture of both of them being on air. All the picture look so intimate and the candid pose looks like they are couple. Well, its not new for her though.

Aslan was dumbstruck by the news. He turn to look at Athena which had a calm expression on her face.

"Athena..I can explain this.." he said after a while.

"Mhm?" she still composed. Of course she is, she was there last night.

"We just friend."

"Yeah..I know. You've been friend from we still a child. I know that." she smile.

"About the event..she got me the ticket, I can't just refuse her. I always support her for her career so that's why there is a rumor about us. But we never going out for real. I mean. We don't really date."

She turn to look at him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Like I said, I got it. As long as you didn't sleep with her and cheat on me, that's okay. You have your private life too."

Aslan dumbstruck again. 'Is she really don't mind with me hang out with other woman? Is what Jye Yin said true? I'm her husband. She should at least nag at me or yelled at me when she find out about this rumor right? Or..is she really don't have any slightest feeling toward me?'

"Yeah. Like I said, as long as you didn't sleep with her. She's your best friend right? Just like me, I had my best friend too."

'if she can give you a happiness when I'm gone, I think I'm okay with it.' Her eyes still fixed on the screen.

'Your best friend was your ex-lover. It's different though!'

He stood up and bring her plate on table to the kitchen.

"Eh, what are you doing?"

"Find my breakfast."

"Oh, it's on the table."

Yin Li open his eyes slowly.

His wrist now forming a red line on both of his hand. He check on his ankle. There is also a red line start to forming on his skin around the ankle.

"She really is a beast." he mumble and went to to bathroom, getting ready to go to work.

While on the shower, he start to sort out his plan to getting rid of her. He thought he want to starve her to death or to the point she would run back to her father mansion. But apparently, she start cooking last night. Which mean, she learn to survive and his plan to starve her can't be used again.

Ignoring her and let her annoyed is also not working because she would just drag him and tied him down just to have sex with him. That plan also is a no go. He was the one who suffering right now.

'What could trigger her? What could make her angry and leave me alone? What is it?' he start to think and finally he sigh.

Knowing he had to go to work right now, he finish up his shower and wear his uniform after that.

While he was wearing his uniform, he turn to facing Aurora who still sleeping on the bed. Her face look happy. She even smiling on her sleep.

'Does she really enjoying torturing me? Or she really enjoying the sex?' brush his hair backward, he brush the thought of her.

'Argh! forget it. She still a monster. Once she gets what she want, she will smile like an idiot.'

Took his bag and wallet, he went out to go to work.

While working, he noticed that all the female customer will secretly peeking at him and even grinning to him. It's happening since first day he work at the store.

All the female customer will line up on his counter to pay the bills. 'What a nuisance. Just like that monster back at home.'

After he finish his shift, he went to the grand restaurant. Well, it's not that grand like in the Imperial City. But this is the only restaurant that serve a high class course. He used to eat at the grand restaurant when he still at Imperial City. His life is not that rich but he can say it's quite comfortable. He had a home, had a luxurious car, and he can eat whatever he wants back then. Every month his salary is used to buy a branded shirt, getting an expensive hair cut, changing his phone and buy a lot of gadget.

He even got a lot of 'present' from his monster wife. She like to buy him an expensive accessories such as watch, tie, suit, shoes and fragrance. And he used to wrap up all the present and never use them.

Now when he turn poor, he more appreciates the value of something. Knowing what is needs and wills. All of this teach him a bit about the real life.

However, he still can make it as he turn poor and learn how to survive. But what he really can't take it, is his monster wife. That one, he really can't face it. It's like a poison if he keep close to her.

Open his locker, he change his attire into a white shirt and black vest with a black pants.

His hair, he change it style and put on the smile on his face.
