Chapter 17 - Mia’s Past

" alright then , I'll ask you a couple of questions and you're gonna answer them correctly and the moment you lie to me my special technique will tell me and you will be punished immediately . So let's start with the simplest question . Who are you ?"

The girl hesitated for a second before she answered him " my name is Mia , I'm from the Alina family .The patriarch of the family is my father and I was his 4th child" she stopped after saying that but then continued

" I was born with a curse . No matter how many doctors came to check my condition no one knew the reason of the curse nor how to cure it" she said in a dejected tone.

Since I couldn't cultivate due to the curse blocking any spiritual energy from reaching my power points and draining my core continuously , some elders in the family started demanding my father the patriarch to end my life so I don't have to suffer from it anymore, they made it sound that they cared about my well- being , but the real reason was that they thought i was an ominous child who brings them bad luck and consumes their resources " she stopped talking to take a break before she continued " my dear father refused the idea absolutely which ended up by starting conflicts in the family . At this point , father knew the elders had bad intentions for him and his family so he decided to send me , my brothers and my mom away from the family for sometime until he got everything under control again. " Shadow noticed that her eyes started welling up but he still listened to her narration.

" What no one expected was , my father's closest friend ,the one he called brother for years and the one he entrusted us with , was the mastermind behind the whole thing. He was the one plotting behind the scenes . Therefore he betrayed my brother snd poisoned him then he killed my mother and brothers right in front of me " she was shedding tears while gritting her teeth .

" The ironic thing is , the fate was playing a joke on me , as the moment he sent his spiritual energy towards me to kill me , i felt like 2 eyes of a demon inside of me just opened . The moment these eyes opened , it sucked dry my family's murderer from all of his energy and then sent a red energy inside his body . I watched the man scream to the top of his lungs , he was tortured in a way no one would even wish to the worst of his/her enemies, but for me that was the happiest moment in my life . It was the first time that I really appreciated the existence of the curse but alas it was the same thing that caused my family's doom " she said with a gloomy expression

" after that , a black portal opened in front of me out of nowhere and it sucked me in , the last thing I remember was when the slave traders captured me . They put me with the rest of the slaves for weeks as they traveled. My curse was at it last end as it was corrupting my body due to the energy it observed from the one she killed . I was dying thus i lost all hope snd couldn't fight back or rather there wasn't anything to fight for so i just gave up and thought i was dead until i woke up here in your bed " she finished narrating her full story.

' She went through hell and came back, how can I respond to her story? ' Shadow was thinking of the best way to comfort her and increase her trust in him.

" it was never the curse who killed your parents, it was that elder " He said to her .

She looked at him weirdly.

"actually, the curse was fortune in disguise . You have one of the rarest constitutions in the world and it triggers a special curse when it appears in someone's body . So you might've eventually found someone to cure it if you kept searching, but your elders were the ones who wanted you dead because of their greed and somehow it was your constitution who took your revenge for you so you should appreciate it more " he said to her .

Mia burst in tears, she was crying in delight after hearing shadow's words.

' Am i a psychopath ? Why does she look more beautiful when she cries ? … Aargh just forget it' he said

After sometime, Mia stopped crying and asked .

" so what now, how do i find someone to cure me?"

" I already did" Shadow said in a casual manner .

Mia didn't immediately respond and merely kept looking at him in disbelief .

" a-are yo-you being serious?" She asked with a shaky voice .

" of course i am , i killed all the slaves traders and saved you " he shrugged his shoulders.

Mia didn't know how to respond to that as her whole life turned upside down after meeting this man in front of her , she just kept thinking to herself.

" yeah and you no longer have the curse inside your body , so you should be able to cultivate now" he said to her .

" i can c-cultivate?" She asked

" yes, and not just like any normal cultivator. You now have the blood constitution so you might as well even surpass me in no time " he said to her after remembering what the system said .

Author's note : i know it's too much drama and you need some thrilling actions so just bear with me as she's one of the main characters and need to build her character with all the small details so you could witness her blooming when the character develops but nevertheless the real slash- bang action is coming so stay toned
