Chapter 23:The Werewolves’ Powerhouses

Lin Ke quickly went to the entrance to help the three of them into the tower.

It was then when he noticed that Avina's calf was injured.

The rest were not in bad shape.

Avina suffered penetration damage. The object that penetrated had been removed, and the bleeding stopped, but it was obvious that she lost some flesh. Lin Ke could not help but furrow his eyebrows upon noticing a hole through her calf.

"Avina, what other treatment should be done to your wound?"

Lin Ke obviously knew that her wound should be disinfected, but they did not have the items needed for that. Hence, he hoped that Avina's Elven race had unique treatments.

"A small injury like that isn't a big deal." Dra shook her head at Lin Ke. "Just let her stay in the Dormitory for a night, and she'll recover fully."

"What? The Dormitory does that too?" Lin Ke looked at Dra strangely, and questioned, "Is it true?"

"Yes, it's true." Dra nodded, and was surprised that Lin Ke was unaware of that. "The Dormitory helps Heroes with recovery and drives negative states away from them. The higher the Level of the Dormitory, the better the effect."

"Okay." Lucy nodded, then supported Avina as they walked slowly toward Lin Ke's Dormitory.

Lin Ke initially wanted to help Avina, but they rejected his offer. Avina smiled at him while shaking her head, and insisted that Lucy helped her.

On the other hand, Dra stayed where she was as she waited to report to Lin Ke what happened exactly.

"Okay, tell me why you suffered such a huge impact." Lin Ke sighed and sat beside her.

Dra sighed too. "We made a shocking discovery that the Werewolves aren't weak at all. We're in big trouble."

"Is that so?"

Lin Ke was not surprised at all, because the moment he saw Avina injured, he knew that something unexpected happened.

Only one thing could explain this.

"Did you meet extremely valiant Werewolves?" Lin Ke asked, but he was already sure of the answer because this was the most possible explanation.

His guess was further verified when Dra nodded.

When Dra and the others led 10 Elemental Guards toward the Werewolf den, they never expected to face a tough fight.

Perhaps because the Werewolves that they previously met were not strong at all, they underestimated them as a whole.

The instant they charged forward to the Werewolf den, an unforeseen resistance appeared.

While most normal Werewolves were indeed only as strong as how Dra and the others expected them to be, after hundreds of them were killed, over ten significantly stronger Werewolves appeared.

The stronger Werewolves were definitely a threat to Dra and the others, so much so that Lucy who was behind had to be protected too.

On top of that, there were another three more extremely powerful Werewolves.

They were exceptionally strong, such that one of them ended up in an irresolvable fight with Dra.

Without Avina and the others who were able to join hands with Dra well, Dra could have possibly been killed.

Lin Ke trembled with fear after listening to that.

During the battle, Avina's calf was accidentally penetrated by a broken spear that was thrown by a powerful Werewolf, but she also took the advantage to injure that Werewolf and managed to kill it together with Dra.

Following that, the other two valiant Werewolves abandoned their partners and escaped as fast as they could.

However, the other Werewolves that stayed lost their consciousness to judge and began attacking Dra and the others, but they ended up being killed.

The Werewolf den was destroyed in the end, but two Werewolves with exceptionally powerful strength got away.

"If we let those two Werewolves live, we'll suffer more serious damages in the future."

Dra was extremely solemn, and by more serious damages, she meant that Lin Ke might lose one or two of his Heroes.

Although Lin Ke could experiment if the Altar could be used to revive Heroes, he would rather not find out unless it was really necessary.

"It's hard to attack a Werewolf den, I didn't expect that many Werewolves to gather there. This is a really huge problem." Lin Ke's face took on a ghastly expression.

He rubbed his temples as his head ached from worrying too much, but he quickly took a few deep breaths to recollect his composure.

Though things did not go smoothly as planned, he was still glad that a Werewolf den was destroyed, and that one of the powerful Werewolves was killed.

He was just concerned because it was almost as powerful as Dra.

"No, they're very strong indeed, but I can feel that their Nature is far from mine, and is at most the same as Lucy's."

Dra negated Lin Ke's guess by voicing out her opinion.

Lin Ke figured that Nature was probably a Rating for Heroes.

She had the Rating of Disaster Level, whereas Lucy's Rating was only Leader Level.

There could only be one reason if the powerful Werewolves were matched in strength with Dra if their Rating was so far from hers.

"Lucy's Nature…" Lin Ke came to a sudden realization. He understood why the Werewolves' Nature was far from Dra's when they were well-matched with her.

It was their Level!

Their Level was insufficient.

If the Werewolves were categorized according to the game's Levels, they were probably monsters above Level 10. If they also had Three Stars, a Blue Grade, as well as a Leader Rating like Lucy, it would make sense for them to be able to match with Dra.

Once Dra was above Level 10, it would definitely be easy for her to kill those Werewolves.

Nevertheless, it was a very serious problem, because Lin Ke did not have enough Diamonds to purchase EXP Scrolls. Moreover, while EXP Scrolls gave a lot of EXP Points, he was unsure if the Level of his Heroes who used them had an upper limit equivalent to his own Level.

Subsequently, Lin Ke opened the Market. He remembered that there were Golden EXP Scrolls that cost 50 Diamonds, and Purple EXP Scrolls that cost 12 Diamonds.

A Golden EXP Scroll could give a Hero 10,000 EXP Points, whereas a Purple EXP Scroll only gave 2,000 EXP Points.

Even though Lin Ke did not have enough Diamonds to purchase a Purple EXP Scroll, he recalled seeing discounted Purple EXP Scrolls as one of the hot-selling items the day before, by which each of them cost only 9 Diamonds.

The discounted price was no longer valid at that moment, but he would refresh the Market again the day after to check if the scrolls would be on sale again.

If he could purchase one for Dra to help her level up, they would stand a higher chance against the Werewolves.
