Chapter 24:Dungeon, Or Library?

The Werewolves may have aces, but Lin Ke's side was strong too.

Hence, after a den was destroyed, Lin Ke discovered, from observing the whole afternoon, that the Werewolf "eyes" that were initially watching his side from far away were gone.

It seemed like they dared not stay around his place anymore as they were afraid.

Nonetheless, Lin Ke knew very well that it was impossible that the Werewolves really left, because they were known for bearing grudges.

In fact, this was only the calm before the storm. Once the Werewolves had sufficient combat power, they would flood Lin Ke's tower immediately to kill his people, and might actually eat them up.

Fortunately, the Werewolves suffered a huge loss this time, so they probably would not attack in the next few days.

As such, Lin Ke could take advantage of the situation to improve the combat power from his side.

For example, he could acquire more Elemental Cores and Silver to purchase Equipment or for upgrades, and could think of a way for Dra and the others to level up.

Avina's injury was quite severe that her calf was not completely healed even after midnight, but new flesh had already started regenerating. Judging from the situation, she would be fully recovered by tomorrow.

Lin Ke was finally relieved.

Dra cleaned her hands and walked over, then nodded when she looked at Avina's condition. "Not bad, she's recovering well. Once she recovers in two days, she can join me in guerilla warfare against the Werewolves."

She had been processing the meat of the wild beasts captured in the afternoon into jerky.

Apart from that, she also found a rock salt near a Werewolf den, so she brought it back to the Elemental Tower.

According to Dra, the rock salt's Grade was terrible, and it was easy for one to be poisoned from consuming too much of it. It could only supply some salt for a human's body during times of need.

Lin Ke sent Dra to hunt for wild beasts because he noticed that the Werewolves no longer surrounded the area, so he needed her to capture more beasts to stock up on food.

This way, they could sustain themselves longer if the Werewolves surrounded them again.

The longer they could sustain, the more Lin Ke's Elemental Tower could upgrade, and the higher their combat power.

Since it was a new day, Lin Ke quickly opened the Market to check the panel for hot-selling items.

The Purple EXP Scrolls were not on sale, whereas the Golden EXP Scrolls were being sold for 40 Diamonds, which was a much cheaper price.

Unfortunately, Lin Ke could not afford them.

"What should I do now? How can I build new facilities?"

Lin Ke frowned. Normally, he should be building Dormitories and Elemental Ponds to obtain plenty of Resources because it would be easier to build other facilities after.

However, they were not under normal circumstances at the moment because the Werewolves would attack them at any time. As such, they needed to increase their combat power even if it would delay their future development, or they might not have a future at all!

Of course, Lin Ke considered leaving for some time to escape from the Werewolves, but he dared not do that when he looked at the Elemental Tower.

'If the Elemental Tower is unoccupied when the Werewolves attack, it'll likely be destroyed by them.

'Without the Elemental Tower, what will happen to my female Heroes? Would they still exist?

'Will my strength be sealed? Will everything else stop growing?

'Without the Elemental Tower, would I be able to still survive in this world?'

Lin Ke had too many doubts that he dared not take the gamble by leaving the tower with Dra and the others.

Therefore, they could only stay to defend against the Werewolves and to kill all enemies who would attack them!

As he exhaled deeply, he put his troubles aside and began checking his gains to see which facility could be built.

With the advent of a new day, Lin Ke's body became hot when he upgraded to Level 3, but it was no longer painful and unbearable as before. Instead, hot streams filled his body, and he could clearly feel a comfortable feeling in his head.

It seemed like it was painful for him yesterday because it was his first time receiving an Upgrade benefit from the System, so he was probably remolded thoroughly.

Other than his Level, he gained a lot of Resources too.

Due to the Dormitory that was upgraded to Level 2, Lin Ke gained a total of 10,000 Silvers - 6,000 Silvers from 3 Level 1 Dormitories, and 4,000 Silvers from 1 Level 2 Dormitory.

He was elated because he lacked Silver the most, and 10,000 Silver could benefit him very much.

Additionally, he also acquired Elemental Cores. Since the 2 Elemental Ponds were still in Level 1, he gained only 100 Elemental Cores, which could be used to recruit 20 Elemental Guards.

Lin Ke found out from Dra that the Elemental Guards' combat power was equivalent to a normal Werewolf, but because they did not fear death, they executed the order given to them without fail and gathered together to kill over 20 Werewolves.

Needless to say, they were able to do that because Dra and the others were distracting the Werewolves too.

If the number of Elemental Guards increased, they could resist a considerable amount of Werewolves.

This was also why Lin Ke wanted to build another Elemental Pond to recruit more guards.

Nevertheless, it was obviously fine if Lin Ke were to do that earlier in the morning, but after Avina was injured, and after knowing that there were a few super aces among the Werewolves, he realized that the Elemental Guards were very weak.

Even if he were to recruit more Elemental Guards, they would not be able to go against the Werewolves that could contend with Dra.

Besides, there was more than one Super Werewolf, and they did not know how many of those there were. For now, there were 3 when Dra and the others attacked the Werewolf den.

Thus, Lin Ke needed items that could upgrade Dra and the others. While Equipment could improve their combat power, each set cost 3,000 Silver, and the ones sold were not upgraded ones.

He needed the cheapest way to upgrade Dra and the others, but a way that could also increase their combat power the most.

Hence, he considered the functions of two new facilities.

He put the Trading Hall aside for now because he figured that the facility only offered some normal items, but he reserved it for the future as it only cost 1,500 Silver.

The important ones were the Library and the Dungeon, which cost 4,000 Silver and 3,000 Silver respectively. They both cost a lot, and Lin Ke could very well buy an equipment set with the money.

'An equipment set can increase fixed Attributes, so between the Dungeon and the Library, which one is more beneficial than the combat power gained from an equipment set?'
