Chapter 26:The Library’s Unique Function

After leaving the Level 2 Dormitory that Avina was in, Lin Ke began to head to the new facilities.

Avina struggled to get up, but was stopped by Lin Ke, who asked Dra and Lucy to keep her company. He then left by himself.

Since he was inside the Elemental Tower, nothing dangerous would happen to him.

First, Lin Ke went to the Trading Hall that was nearest to him. Many things appeared the moment he opened the interface.

He was dispirited after taking a look.

Sure enough, the Trading Hall was full of things that were extremely useful.

For instance, exquisite wooden chairs, peppers, silk, and so on. The items were clearly marked with their price, and could be bought using Silver.

There was only a page with 6 items listed, which would refresh every 6 hours.

However, the items were not useful at the moment as Lin Ke and the others were in a dangerous situation.

The Trading Hall was probably a utility facility by the System for Players to earn Silver, because one could purchase items to sell them in other Players' territory at certain prices.

Since Lin Ke was the only Player around, he could not sell them to anyone else.

Nevertheless, he wondered if he should purchase a packet of pepper to try.

There were a total of 10 packets of pepper, and each packet cost 500 Silver, so 10 packets cost 5,000 Silver.

If he could sell them to other Players, he would be able to earn a few thousand Silver.

Seeing as he was the only Player, he decided to test if he could purchase it for his own usage.

In any case, it only cost 500 Silver.

Lin Ke decided to buy a packet, and he tried to retrieve it from his Inventory.

Pop, the packet dropped into his hand.

The pepper was black, and the packet contained roughly 2 kilograms worth of pepper. When Lin Ke took one out to test, it tasted well, and was definitely real.

After taking the packet out, he could not return it to his Inventory.

The game allowed Players to retrieve Items from their Inventory, but disallowed them from putting items back, which was a flaw that really disappointed Lin Ke.

Other than the pepper, Lin Ke was interested in the other items too.

For example, silk, cane sugar, and porcelain.

Those items were not as cheap, but, compared to the other items, were what Lin Ke and the others needed.

"Forget it, now is not the time for us to have fun."

Lin Ke closed his eyes. He was done making comparisons by the time he opened his eyes again, and he headed to the Library with the packet of pepper.

The Library was a facility that he was clueless about. It was a gamble that he took, but was a facility that could possibly increase his team's combat power the most.

He smiled the instant he looked at the Library's interface.

"Indeed, this is the facility that I need the most now!"

The heavy pressure that Lin Ke had been feeling for some time was lifted right away, because the Library was exactly what he needed.

All along, he found it strange that his Heroes' interfaces did not have options for him to upgrade their Levels.

Items like EXP Scrolls should normally come with prompts to upgrade, but he could not find them even after looking for a long time.

Back then, he wondered how his Heroes could be upgraded if he bought EXP Scrolls - should he let them tear the scrolls?

His questions were answered by the Library.

The Library was a place where Heroes were upgraded.

A few empty slots could be seen on the Library's interface, where Players could place their Heroes in the slots to undergo the Library's unique function - Advanced Development.

There were a few Grades for Advanced Development, which were listed out according to the duration.

There were Advanced Developments that lasted for 1 hour, 4 hours, and 12 hours. In addition, there were also options for 24 hours, and 48 hours, but they could only be activated using Diamonds.

Heroes could gain EXP Points from Advanced Development. 1 hour, 4 hours, and 12 hours of such development yielded 400 Points, 1,600 Points, and 4,800 Points respectively.

Advanced Developments activated by Diamonds gave more EXP Points, such that a hero would gain 20,000 Points after 24 hours, and 50,000 Points after 48 hours.

Throughout the development process, Players could use EXP Scrolls on Heroes to speed up the leveling up process. This was how EXP Scrolls could be used.

Without the Library, EXP Scrolls were useless.

What else did Lin Ke need to know?

It was exactly his desire for Dra and the others to level up as soon as possible, so that they could be stronger against the Werewolves. With that, he quickly shifted Dra and Avina's virtual avatars to the Library's slots for an hour of Advanced Development each.

Of course, Lin Ke wanted to let Lucy do it too, but there were only 2 free slots, and only a VIP Player could have 3 slots.

Though it applied to VIP1 Players as well, he could only sigh as he was only a cheapskate Starter Packer.

Nonetheless, two was better than none.

Since Lin Ke let Avina and Dra undertake an hour of Advanced Development each, they gained 400 EXP Points. While they could not advance to Level 3 with those Points, they could get to Level 2.

He could then ask them about the difference in their strengths after they leveled up.

If the difference was big, things would be much easier for them.

Lin Ke did not go anywhere during that hour. He stayed to build a Refinery Hall, and also upgraded a Dormitory.

He upgraded a Dormitory instead of building a new one mainly because he did not have enough Heroes, and he could only be rewarded twice the Silver if Heroes stayed in the Dormitories. Thus, he would receive less rewards if he were to build a Dormitory that would be unoccupied.

Furthermore, a new facility required more Wood and Stone, whereas the Resources needed to level up were lower - of course, the demand for Silver was higher.

While Lin Ke was trying his best to survive in this world, behind a giant tree outside the Elemental Tower, a few shadows were observing the tower that was out of tune with the forest.

The tower was not tall, some ancient trees were actually a few times taller than it, but its construction form was very rare.

"Jonas, is this the Mage Tower that you saw? It's just a small tower with two floors. It might not actually be occupied by a real Mage. In fact, it looks nothing like a Mage Tower. It's probably just a normal building."

A brawny man with a full beard asked his partner, "Is this what Vice Captain sent us to see?"

"A fella who can build a tower like this in the Werewolf Forest is definitely not simple."

Jonas rolled his eyes at the brawny man. "We need to observe the Mage Tower's owner for a while. There have been some movements in the Werewolf Forest lately, so we mustn't allow any mishaps."
