Anastasia Honchar's POV
I cannot believe it. Marco Conti will be my new supervisor. The person that I loathed the most has been my boss. I wanted to scream my gut out. I need to get away from him. I need to get away from here.
"deep breath, Anna, deep breath," I said as I was in the stall of the toilet. I need to get my thinking straight before I can face him. He might be smiling but I know people like him. He was the vilest person that I cannot wait to take out from the equation.
"if you're going to be in there any much longer, I think I might have to report you," that voice was known to penetrate all my thoughts. Can't I have a few moments alone with my mind?
"I have a stomachache," I lied. He chuckled before he fumbled the handle. I abruptly went to the door to stop him. But I failed before Marco went inside the stall.
"what are you doing? This is not a unisex bathroom," I hissed at him. He shrugged before he smirked at me. god, I wanted to smack his face. His godly handsome face.
"Why did you not tell me that you are the new supervisor?" I asked him. I can sense his hot breath on my face as I was looking at him. He was smirking at me before he leaned back on the wall.
"well, I need to make sure that you don't blow my cover,"
"well, can I trust you to not blow mine?" I asked him. He chuckled. deeply. huskily. My stomach turned at the sound.
"no, we're not," I replied. He arched his eyebrow as he went forward and stalked over me with his large frame. I was stumbled back before my back hit the wall. He trapped me between his two arms.
"And you know I will never uncover you. You're the key in this job," he said as he was looking into my eyes. I cannot look away from his beautiful eyes. It was magnetic and he was too strong to pull away. I gulped. I wandered to his lips and when I looked at his eyes again, he was looking at mine. instantly, I wetted my lips before his eyes flickered to mine.
"you're driving a hard bargain to control me, Ms. Honchar," he whispered as he traced his fingers along my throat. I gasped at the contact. I never knew he could ignite such fire in that touch. He chuckled darkly.
"can you be quiet?" He asked me and before I can answer him, he claimed my mouth. My eyes were big as a saucer and I did not think that I would be attracted to him like I was right now. He was a great kisser and kissing with him always left me wanting more.
"Hmm," was the only sound that I can master as I snaked my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me. I need to feel him. I need to make sure that he will not disappear. I have to glue to him to make sure that he was alive.
my eyes were wide open when I thought that word. Alive. Not a single person would like to die, especially if that person to get them to kill was me. I pushed him away as strong as I could but I don't think I can. I was pushing at his chest but he was too strong.
"you cannot deny me anymore, cara. I wanted you. You wanted me. Why don't we save ourselves from misery?" He said as he was roaming my body with his hands. I was too dazed to reply before someone knocked on the door.
"Hello, someone else needs to use the stall. And get a fucking room," someone said from the outside and Marco was smiling wickedly at me.
"well, we cannot be busted. I see you on the other side," he said before he kissed me again. I fell for his charm and when I looked again, he was gone. His trace in the stall was gone. I did not know how he did it but I need to learn it.
I opened the door as I can sense the next person would be yelling at me. She did not. Maybe because my face was red as a tomato or she did think that I have a stomachache.
I went back to my desk before I pulled out my laptop and I opened my lab reports from last time. I need to complete it before I can submit and, I gulped, see that old man again.
I sighed. I don't want to see him, ever again. But in the meantime, I have Marco back me up whenever he got too close to me. I can use that excuse to get him away from me, as fas as I can.
I looked at the data and started to make some calculations as I went back and forth to the lab to check on them. I don't have time to think for Marco as I was busy to get my work done and get out of here, as fast as I can.
I did not know how long has it been. 4 hours? 7 hours? Who cares? I was on the breakthrough to get my data finished when someone knocked on my cubicle. It was the guy from this morning. I don't even know his name.
"the boss wanted to see you," he said as I was looking at him, dumbfounded. He rolled his eyes.
"hurry," he said before getting out. I scrambled to my feet as I went to follow him. He was swift and fast. My short legs cannot catch up with him. He then stopped before I bumped into his back.
He rolled his eyes before mentioning me to get inside. I thanked him and before my eyes, I saw the old man, Marco and that young woman who entered the stall after me. panic strike me as I looked at the old man greeting me with his wicked smile.
"Ah, Ms. Honchar, please join us, we were about to start," he said as he gestured a seat next to Marco. I thanked him before he brought a letter in front of his desk.
"do you know what it is?" He asked us as he was looking at each of us. We shook our heads, well except Marco.
"This is an agreement that stated it was prohibited to have an office romance. And I think Ms. Armadas thinks that it was inappropriate to have a rendezvous in the stall. Is that correct, ms. Armadas?" He asked the woman. She nodded, not meeting his eyes. Something does not seem right.
"well, can you leave us, Ms. Armadas? I am sure you have so much paperwork to do," Marco said as he was keeping his eye contact with my boss. I was looking at the retreating figure before she scrambled to her feet out of the room. She closed the door but I can sense the tension was growing in the room.
"so, you wanted to play that card, huh?" Marco said as he stood up from his seat and went to the window. He looked around before he pulled the blinders and making us invisible to the workers outside. He did all the windows before he was leaning against the door. I heard a click. He just locked the door.
Great. We stuck here with a predator and a psycho. Was I the only one that was sane in this room?
"well, what can you do? you're not the boss of me," the old man said as he was pointing at Marco. Marco was leaning against the door as he was looking at his fingers, his feet were rested against the wall. He looked like a devil in disguise now.
"well. We can make a deal or do you prefer to live on the street?" He asked before he walked toward the table before he retrieved something from his jacket.
He put it on the table and when I have a clear view, it was images of women and horrible conditions that were happening to them. I gasped before I turned my head around.
"so, as I said, do you prefer to live on the street?" He asked the old man. He gulped before he pointed at Marco angrily.
"Are you threatening me? This is my company and you do not have anything—"
"might I suggest you call someone from your board. I will be happy to give you their numbers," he said as he went to take out his phone and shove it in front of the old man. He looked terrified at the phone.
"you," he said as he looked at Marco. Marco smirked before he took his phone and my hand before we walked toward the door.
"As you said, I am overqualified but that does not mean I will not have power over you. so, be a good puppet and stay out of my way," he hissed before he looked at me and back at the old man.
"and back off, she's my wife," he said before he unlocked the door and we went outside. That was intense and I never see Marco was this intense. We were walking toward my cubicle before Marco took my bag and went out of the room with everyone was watching us. I did not know how to answer their questions tomorrow. I hope Marco will not pull a stunt like this.
"get in," he said as he opened the door of his car. I looked at him before he glared at me. I scrambled inside as he closed the door. He went to the driver's seat and got inside. He started the ignition before he sped off from the building. It was night time. I did not know that time flies.
"where are we going?" I asked him. He gripped the steering wheel tighter.
"to train," he said and I know there was no argument with him there.
