Chapter 8 An Immortal Artifac

Morning the next day, a loud roar and the sound of fierce fighting of demon beast broke the tranquility of the morning. Then not long after that a silver furred demon beast monkey cautiously approached a small hidden cave while dragging behind a bloodied green snake like creature. The body of the silver furred monkey is tainted with the dark red color of blood, and some splash of green blood can also be seen. It was as if the silver furred monkey had a life and death battle with another demon beast.

Upon sensing that the cave is empty, it cautiously entered. The silver furred monkey demon beast walked to the innermost part of the cave and then sat on the ground. Looking at its dead prey drool drip from its mouth, then it began biting chunks after chunks of flesh from lifeless green snake.

The creature was immersed in devouring it meal when all of a sudden a human appear out of nowhere holding a weird looking sword. The human looks really young with traces of fatigue in his eyes where dark circles can be seen. The youth doesn't seem to notice the demon beast as he run outside the cave in a hurry as if the weapon he is holding was on fire. The silver furred monkey just stared with a dumbfounded look in its face with some flesh still hanging in its mouth.

Then all of a sudden a loud thunder clap can be heard outside which startled the silver furred monkey. It was followed by a huge wave of energy which burst forth covering 500 meters diameter in radius. Then after that everything was silent, the youth and the weird looking sword is nowhere to be found.

Inside the mansion Shin Jiao excitedly eyed the glowing weapon in his hand. He spent 10 days inside the mansion making this weapon, on the last two days he didn't get some rest because it was the crucial part of weapon forming. Then after he successfully completed the weapon, it suddenly vibrated which means that the weapon became an immortal artifact which will summon the heavenly tribulation. That's why he quickly went out of the mansion carrying the weapon.

The weapon he made is like a one handed Japanese short sword called wakizashi and is just in an arm's length. He wanted it to be longer but because the void ore is too little it was not enough. There is a tiny amount left but he has plans for those.

"He he he, ha ha ha! This is an immortal artifact! After I enchant this, it will become more powerful."

Shin Jiao was really happy while looking at this new weapon made by his own hands with admiration. Then he noticed some sparks of energy dancing along the blade.

"Hmm, there seems to be a large amount of energy covering this weapon, is it the residue of the lightning energy?"

"Maybe I can try to absorb this energy"

Then he started to slowly absorb the raw lightning energy. And to his surprise, the lightning energy coming from heavenly tribulation contains a large amount of all types of energy. So he quickly guide them all to his dantian and fill the empty spheres until the10thsphere started to form and stopped when half of it was filled with energy.

"Now that I have my new weapon, I think it's time to test it out."

He said with a grin.

Shin Jiao remembered that inside the cave when he suddenly got out in a hurry there was a large silver furred ape. Although he didn't really get a good look at it, he still noticed its presence.

In the cave, because of the powerful energy that suddenly burst out the silver furred monkey was hurled and hit the cave wall. And became a little dizzy because of the impact, but because of its thick fur it was not hurt. Instead it became more furious that someone disturbed it while it's enjoying its meal.

Looking around the cave trying to find the culprit, but saw no one, so it curiously look outside. There all of a sudden a youth appear out of thin air holding a weapon and a big smile plastered on his face.

"Growwwl!" The silver furred ape furious howled.

"I guess it is angry. Now that's not right?... I should be the one who should be angry. You entered my cave without my permission you know."

Then pointing the wakizashi to the demon beast he shouted.

"Come on beast! Let me show you who the boss here is!"

The silver furred monkey seemed to understand Shin Jiao's taunting and was angered, so it rushed forward intending to beat the crap out of the human in front of him. Brandishing its large thick arms like a long hammer it ran towards Shin Jiao.

As its arms smashed down Shin Jiao uses the evasion movement from his memory called shadow dance. When he uses this skill, all of a sudden everything began to move in slow motion. He smoothly move to the side and let the silver furred monkey's arms fell and clearly saw it destroyed the place where he was standing. After 30 seconds, everything return to normal.

The shadow dance evasion skill give a boost on agility 10 times the normal speed of the caster for 3 seconds. Shin Jiao notice that using this skill will consume 1 whole sphere of energy from his dantian, which made him dejected.

"Growwl!"

The demon beast was seething with anger as it missed its target. With a roar it started to make its move once again.

But as soon as it moved, Shin Jiao also made his move and this time he slashed. Then in a flash he appear behind the silver furred ape with his sword gleaming. It was as if time had stopped, and a drop of blood slowly drips from the blade. Then a line slowly appears on the neck of the silver furred monkey. Then its head slid down as red blood gushed out from its severed neck.

"Wow, this is a really sharp sword! I think it's too overpowered though, it felt like cutting a tofu."

Shin Jiao is looking in a daze at the headless body of the silver furred monkey. He didn't use any sword skill for that strike but the sword still sliced the creature's head off.

Looking at the ground he noticed that another demon beast, a green snake with missing flesh lays there. After checking the two bodies he was amazed that the two demon beast is a level higher than what he previously always hunts, so he became excited and drag the two corpses inside the mansion.

He absorb the two cores and found out that each 2nd level core can provide more than half the energy in a sphere. This discovery made Shin Jiao happy, but still a little hesitant. Because 2nd level demon beast can only be seen in the outer part of this valley, which he wouldn't want to go as his power is not yet enough.

So he decided to prepare himself. He need to craft other artifacts to help him survive outside the valley. He already noticed that inside the valley, where he first found himself in another world and discovered the mansion, most demon beast are at level one and sometimes there are level two's. His gut feeling tells him that if he goes out of the valley higher level demon beast will be there and since he is located near the middle of the forest of Demon Greens, there is a possibility of a king beast roaming outside.

'I wanted to go and find a village, and have a warm bed on my back and eat good food.'

Shin Jiao suddenly thought to himself that he missed human presence. Though he lives alone but at least once in a while he can interact with people.

"Sigh… I can just slowly improve then and wait for the right time."

With a resolute heart he now set his goal.
