Chapter 32

Two days later…

Shin Jiao found himself in front of the Green store auction house. Looking at the people dressed in fine clothing, he can't help himself to admire those rich people. As he enter the auction house a pair of eyes caught him and started to follow discreetly from behind.

Inside the auction house a store clerk is checking the identity of every person coming in. When it was Shin Jiao's turn and as he was about to take out his VIP card, a woman suddenly walks up beside him and wrapped her arm around his. This sudden action shocked Shin Jiao, then he noticed the hint of red on the woman's cheek. What astonished Shin Jiao is that, though the woman is wearing a veil, her eyes shines like a sapphire. Her thin curved brow matches the color of her dark blue hair. The woman had a pleading look while she gaze at Shin Jiao.

"Sorry I'm late." She said in a shy voice.

Although Shin Jiao was surprised he just nod his head and showed his VIP card. He was curious of the woman's motive. As he didn't feel some malicious intent he just let her be.

They were led to a private room on the second floor. The room has a window with a basic concealing rune to prevent people from seeing who is inside. With elegant decorations and some fruits and snacks already prepared on the table, this shows how much Green store auction house values their guest.

Once inside, Shin Jiao just casually sat on one of the chairs and look outside.

"So care to explain yourself miss?" he asked as he personally serve a tea to the woman who stood by the door.

"I mean no harm lowly one. I am Mae Namgung a disciple of the Lotus Sect. My purpose is to bid for a certain artifact which is going to be auctioned today."

The woman's demeanor suddenly changed from being shy to confident and cold.

Shin Jiao almost choked on the tea he was drinking after hearing her cold and aloft voice. He had an incredulous look as he saw the woman walks towards the window but she remained standing. Shin Jiao politely gestured for her to sit on one of the empty chairs.

"This humble one is Shin Jiao, I'm a mere commoner and is new to the town."

The woman turns her gaze towards Shin Jiao and knitted her brow as if she was in deep thought. Then she look at him again, but this time Shin Jiao felt some energy coming from her that's like flowing through his body. Feeling helpless, he could not refute the woman as he is hiding his true power. His trump card is his strength once it is exposed it would be hard to surprise attack his opponents.

'That's weird, I can clearly see that he are only at the peak of body refining stage. But his body is very strong, like that of a gold core realm or stronger. Hmmm… maybe he practices some secret body refining art.'

Then Mae Namgung stopped scanning him and casually take a seat behind Shin Jiao.

From where they are they can see that people coming in and started to fill the vacant seats as it is almost time to start the auction. On the first floor lays almost 500 seats and in front is a stage, the second floor contains 20 VIP rooms which is almost occupied judging from the activated runes in each room.

After some time, a well-dressed man walked up the stage. This was the same person who assisted Shin Jiao 2 days ago, Manager Lee.

He delivered some speech and give pleasantries to welcome the people. Then he introduced the main host and the auction officers. After that he went back to his seat at the side of the stage. After Manager Lee takes his seat, a woman with a voluptuous body and a mature aura walks in the podium in middle of the stage. She wore a body tight blue sleeveless robe, her hair is tied up neatly in a bun, and a light make-up on her face.

The men in the audience can't help but gasp while looking at her beauty.

"I am Min Tang the auctioneer for today's event. Let's not wait anymore, let us begin with this century red ginseng. A good tunic for the body and will help maintain good blood and aura circulation. And the starting bid is…"

Everyone started to give their bids as item after item was sold to the highest bidders.

Then after the last item was bought. The stage suddenly darken, a small box caught the eyes of everyone at it emits a low light while it is being delivered on the stage. Shin Jiao became curious of what the thing is, so he used his goggles to scan the object in the box. And judging from the energy fluctuation and power level of the item, it is a powerful but dormant artifact.

Shin Jiao suddenly noticed the uneasiness of Mae Namgung from her heated gaze on the item down below and the strong grip she had on the arm chair which started to make a low creaking sounds. The silence and tense atmosphere was disrupted as Min Tang introduced the item in the box.

"This next item is a palm sized silver slab with a mysterious origin, even our Green store auction house is unable to determine what kind of artifact it is or where it came from. But we found something strange, it emits a strong spiritual energy that helps cultivation speed up to 2 times. And this is at the range of around 3 meters, which means it can be used by more than one person with the same effect."

After saying this she opened the lid of the box and a pure and strong spiritual essence burst forth. Making the cultivators near the stage felt a bountiful pure spiritual energy entering their bodies. They know that if they really cultivated near this silver slab, they can increase their cultivation level faster.

After her introduction the crowd was silent, as they scrutinized the box. Then an old wizen voice suddenly echoed through the hall.

"I bid 100k."

Everyone was astounded as this voice is quite familiar to everyone in the town. This is the ancestor of the Zok clan, the person who united all the clans in the town.

"Ha ha. Please everyone don't be afraid of this old one. I am just here to bid, I implore everyone to bid freely."

Migor Zok stood with an affable and gentle smile cupping his hands to all of the surrounding cultivators. What astounded everyone was that the old man is actually sitting in the corner of the 1st floor. Though he is considered to be the most powerful cultivator in town but his humble gesture gained the approval of everyone.

"Senior is too polite, then I will bid 110k."

This voice was familiar to Shin Jiao, with a dumbfounded look he slowly turns his head toward the woman behind him. In his mind he was scolding the woman for being too impulsive. If it doesn't concern his pride as a man, he would have ran immediately outside so as to not attract more trouble for himself.

With the woman as a catalyst, a lot of cultivators began to also bid. When Shin Jiao return to his senses the bidding price has already reached a whapping 500k mid-grade spiritual stones. Now the woman behind him has the look of uneasiness in her eyes. This means that she doesn't have enough money to buy the artifact.

Upon seeing the price, Shin Jiao couldn't help himself but gasp in amazement. In his mind he was thinking of his artifacts, if he is going to take out any one of those items he had crafted what would happen.

He already know the item in the box after a thorough analysis. It is actually a complete but sealed weapon slab. According to his knowledge he can make this kind of weapon, if he has an essence silver, a meteor ore and the horn of any elemental type demon beast. The slab when in its dormant form will absorb natural energy and when its capacity is full it emits spiritual energy as a byproduct. But when activated it serves as a defensive shield or an energy projector, which has the power of an earth severing nascent.

Only those formation expert like himself might be able to unlock the seal and use its full potential. But Shin Jiao is actually not interested in this kind of artifact, as it can only be used once in battle and it will take 20 days before it can be used again.

The woman suddenly look at Shin Jiao with pleading on her eyes. This made Shin Jiao felt awkward as he himself doesn't have that much money. He was just here to see how much he could gain from the two demon beast materials he submitted.
