The fist-sized blue stone in the pangolin's paw shone brightly in Shin Jiao's eyes. The teleport crystal is actually a rare raw spatial stone and may contain a Dao of space. As a crystal in itself, the teleport crystal is useless unless it is refined and the crystal essence is extracted. Once the crystal essence is extracted it can be used as a raw teleportation artifact. It is said that the raw artifact can make a person teleport in any direction within 100 kilometers in an instant. Of course, no one can prove this as none who have tried to refine a teleport crystal succeed, except for the great immortal artificer Gubu.

Shin Jiao's heart is in turmoil, although he is not that greedy, he feels the crystal is calling him and telling him to get it. It's like an evil enchantment that gradually fills his mind.

"That is one big teleport crystal. If I can refine that, I can make tons of artifacts with spatial properties."

Shin Jiao glared at the crystal like a hungry beast.

As he gazes at the shiny blue crystal, the pangolin noticed it and looked up. Its sparkling black eyes shone in curiosity at the empty space. It clearly felt something is looking at it but when it looked up it saw nothing.

Shin Jiao was also confused as to why the pangolin is looking at him. He is sure that his stealth suit is activated and that he is properly blended with his surroundings. True to his thinking the pangolin can't see him as it searches the surroundings for something.

"This creature truly has a sharp sense. It can even sense my gaze, truly amazing! But that crystal it is holding is a treasure, let's try to get that."

With a plan in mind, Shin Jiao carefully got up and prepares himself to lunge at the confused creature which tries to find him as it roams its gaze around. When Shin Jiao made his move the creature suddenly disappear from where it stood, he just grabbed an empty air.

"What the… How did it do that?" Shin Jiao was a bit confused and curious at the same time.

The pangolin stood not too far from Shin Jiao, it seems like it was amused by the sudden appearance of a human.

"You can't escape from me, little buddy!"

Then with a rush, Shin Jiao dashed towards the pangolin.

But before he could grab the little creature it suddenly disappears leaving no trace. This froze Shin Jiao in place, as he was stupefied at the same time awed at what he is seeing.

"It can actually use the crystal, this is amazing. I need to catch this little creature and research on it."

Shin Jiao made up his resolve and without second thought tried his best to catch the creature.

After a while, a youth sprawled lying on the ground panting. He actually didn't know how long he has been chasing after the pangolin but he felt tired. Although he felt a little frustrated, Shin Jiao had a great insight, he uses different kinds of tricks and continuously chases after the pangolin who also seems to enjoy playing with the human. He now had a good understanding of how the pangolin uses the crystals energy. Using his goggles while trying to catch the creature, he saw the flow of energy from the crystal to the pangolin and vice versa. These findings made him exhilarated, although he couldn't catch the pangolin, it showed him an almost complete understanding of how the teleport crystal works. With this knowledge, he now had full confidence to be able to extract the crystal essence and learn the Dao within it.

"Thanks, little buddy, I owe you one this time. He, he, he."

Shin Jiao slowly stood up patted the dirt off his clothes while chuckling.

He didn't actually know how deep he went to the forest this time as he was too engrossed in chasing and learning after the creature. As he started to walk back, he noticed that the pangolin is following behind him, it was a bit cautious but it looks at Shin Jiao with interest.

"Go, I won't bother you anymore."

Shin Jiao waved his hand to shoo the creature.

But the creature upon seeing the gesture thought differently, it suddenly stuck out its long tongue and panted like a dog. Then it jumps happily in place as it expects something from the human.

"What are you doing? Go! Geez… Acting cute eh… ha, ha, ha."

Shin Jiao thought that the creature's actions are a little weird. But he didn't mind it as he continued to walk back. The pangolin actually felt a little down, it was expecting the human to chase after it again. It wanted to play with the human which seems fun. It lived in the forest for a long time and it always escapes for its life as those scary demon beast chases after it. The human didn't have any killing intent so it felt weird and wanted to get close to him. So it decided to follow behind, thinking that maybe the human will play with it again sometime.

"Why is it following me? It didn't take a liking at me, right? Ha, ha. Well, it's not that bad, at least I won't be bored when hunting."

Shin Jiao decided to turn his attention to the pangolin and signaled for it to come closer. Then taking some demon beast meat inside the mansion space, it threw it to the pangolin. To his amazement, while the meat is still in the air, the pangolin suddenly disappears and reappear with the meat on its mouth. Then Shin Jiao noticed the sharp teeth on its mouth.

"What the? I though pangolins don't have teeth. Crap, those are really scary fangs." Shin Jiao gasp in disbelief.

After gulping the meat down, the pangolin showed a happy face. It ran closer to Shin Jiao with expectant eyes. It blinks its clear black eyes as it looks at him while it's hard shelled tail wags heavily and its tongue extended out.

"You still want more, do you? Ha, ha, ha."

The pangolin nods excitedly as if understanding what Shin Jiao said. This made Shin Jiao amazed, he had a suspicion that the creature is intelligent but now he confirmed it.

"Ok, here… have some. I can't eat all this meat anyway, you'll be my buddy from now on okay?"

Shin Jiao gave the pangolin a large chunk of meat, as he decided to stop for a while and accompany the creature while it eats.

After some time, Shin Jiao decided to go back to town. So he stood up and started walking, now the pangolin didn't follow him from behind but instead walks beside him.

"Ha, ha. Little buddy, you want to come with me to town?"

The pangolin nods even though it showed a bit of confusion what the human meant. But it knows that wherever the human goes, delicious food will follow. It is already fed up from scavenging and eating rotten meat as with its size it can't even hunt its own food.

"Okay let's go then, I'll give you more meat and you'll be my buddy. Ha, ha."

Shin Jiao became happy as a sly glint shone in his eyes, he can now do more experiments and observe the teleport crystal, at the same time, he won't get bored as he hunts in the forest. He can't hunt with other humans as he always uses his BARRETT and other artifacts if anyone could see those it would only cause him more trouble.

While walking, Shin Jiao suddenly heard a loud booming sound not too far from where they are. Then he noticed that he has already entered a territory, he was too preoccupied with his thought that he didn't notice it.

The pangolin was also a little cautious because it already knows the situation, but since the human was too calm, it felt that the human could handle the demon beast king in the area. If in case there is trouble it can still jump out of its territory in a blink and could even bring the human with it.

"Hmm… this is weird, we've already entered the territory for a while but still, no demon beast king has chased after us."
