Lisa and Caleb decided not to join the Company's Annual Symposium since tonight's event is purely the night for the board members, investors and other powerful figures in the company. Aisha tried to convince them but to no avail.
The truth is, Aisha doesn't want to go as well. But her effort to convince some investors and board members might go to waste if she won't show up. She can't possibly ruin this night and she can't possibly fail Ethan as well.
Seeing her father Demetrius is her least concern since Uncle Archie phoned earlier to inform her that Rio decided not to attend the said event.Aisha tried calling Rio many times but he was ignoring her calls. It pains her heart. Doesn't he care about her daughter anymore? Her heart stings a little.
Rio is not her biological father but she treated him as a real one. She can't even remember how her real father and mother looked like right now. Was she too young back then when her parents left them? Why can't she remember their faces? Her memories for them are also vague! Her childhood memory was only that of with her twin sister, Ethan, Demetrius and the others. Other than that, her real family is already a blur of her past. She only has that bracelet to remind her that she once had a loving mother.
The only memory that she has with her mother was the butterfly bracelet she received on her 5th birthday. other than that, she can't recall any special features about her mom and dad. Though she knew that her mom is kind, sweet and beautiful.
"Cherry Andrews." She whispered. The people calls her mom as Cherry Andrews. But she doesn't care about that anymore. Rio is one of the most important person for her. why dwell on the past that will never come back?
Aisha heard the screeching of a car. Ethan must have gone ahead of her. Aisha told him that she'll be an hour late. Ethan wanted to wait for her but he must be at the event early since he needs to welcome everyone.
"Double our men specially at the entrance. Make sure that the media won't be able to get a hold of her." Ethan called Shawn.
"Yes Sir. We have men scattered all over even at the Hall. There should be no problem later."
"Good. Also tell me when she arrives."
"Copy that Sir."
"Also Shawn, stop calling me Sir." He was irritated. He heard Shawn's crispy laugh on the other line.
Shawn and Ethan were friends for a long time. it was Shawn who taught him how to use guns at an early age. Shawn was just three years ahead of him.
"Are you going to fire me if I continue calling you, SIR?" he was mocking him.
"Yes, I will." He yelled.
"Ha-ha. Anyway, just try to enjoy the night. I'm sure Larry is doing his best to suppress the media." He tried to comfort his friend.
"Yeah I'm sure he is. Thank you Shawn." Then he hung up.
As expected, the entrance of the building was filled with reporters. Flashes flickers everywhere but questions can be seen on the faces of the people present.
"Where is his wife?"
"Won't she be coming?"
"Did he knew about tit already?"
He can hear murmurs everywhere. Looks like he was right, they were here to see her. He walked naturally at the red carpet. Flashes sparkles everywhere. He was thinking of Aisha the whole time. Would she be alright?
"Mr. Williams, where is your Wife? Wouldn't she attend tonight's event?" one of the reporter's asked. He only smiled without any words.
"Are you trying to hide her?" another reporter bravely asked. He paused on his tracks.
"Do you know all along that your wife is a gangster?" another spoke. He was obviously irritated. All the camera was focused on him. Some board members and company investors heard the reporters. They also paused.
"What's your basis to say that my wife is a gangster?" Ethan faced them. He stood valiantly. The aura that he is emitting right now is like of the emperor ready to slaughter anyone that comes against him. some of the reporters gulped in fear.
"I'm sure Mr. Williams knew what we really meant." Said another.
"And what if your wrong? I believe that everyone here knew the complexity of fake news, right?" he challenged them. Some of the reporters step back. They definitely knew the density of going against the Williams.
"Don't you think your wife is gangster or maybe she's one with some Mafia organization?" a brave reported stepped in. they suddenly heard Ethan chuckled.
"And If she is? What is it to you?" he was laughing when he turned his back to them. he entered the building.
There were some powerful figures who was about to enter the hall when they heard the commotions outside. They choose to stay and hear Ethan out. one of them was Archie. He's been listening to the conversation since it started. He became anxious. He tried calling Rio but to no avail. He called the butler to notify Rio. He's not sure if Rio will hear the butler out but it's a risk. He tried calling Aisha but he can't reach her.
"What is happening?!" he was in deep thought. He tried to dial Aisha's number again.
"Hello?" she answered!
"Aisha! where are you? Are you sure you want to attend tonight's event?"
"ha ha, are you really asking me that uncle? Of course!" she chuckled.
"But Aisha ----"
"Don't worry uncle I'll be fine. Besides, I'm already inside." She interrupted her worried uncle.
"What? Since when did you came in?" he was shocked. He only heard Aisha laughed on the other line.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." She hung up.
What was that for? Archie thought. Did she know this would happen?
