117 CHAPTER 117: THE PAIN OF LOSING

She looked at him with eyes full of contempt but her body is too weak to pull away from him.

"Give me your car keys." Hunter spoke indifferently while still holding onto her waist. She made a face.

"Why should I? go back to your date cause they're surely waiting for you. I can manage myself." She pouted.

"Just give me the damn keys! I'm going to send you home." he was irritated.

"I told you I don't need your help! I can go home all by myself!" she yelled.

"Can you see yourself right now? you can't even stand up properly so how can you drive, huh?!" Hunter snatch her purse and look for her car keys. He stooped and carried her and force her in the passenger seat. Then he fixed her seatbelt. Sophie scowled.

"Where to?" Hunter asked the shivering woman.

"Anywhere as long as not in the Villa. Caleb can't see me like this." She murmured.

"Do you have the key to your house?"

She shook her head. "I left it at Ethan's safe house. Just drop me anywhere."

"You!" hunter scoffed. He saw the woman shivering in cold so he lightly threw his jacket to her. "Take this. Any sane woman wouldn't get herself drench in rain specially with a dress like that!" he was upset.

"It's your fault anyway." She murmured lightly.

"What did you say?" hunter creased a brow.

"Nothing!" then she averted her eyes outside the window. The rain is pouring hard, it makes her want to sleep.

After a few minutes, they arrived at Hunter's house but Sophie was fast asleep. How couldn't she? She usually get knocked out after one bottle of wine so how could she remain conscious after taking two bottles? He sighed.

"Hey! Sophie! wake up!" his been shaking her for some minutes now but to no avail so he got off the car, open the passenger door and scoop Sophie in his hands.

How could she sleep with her dress wet? Hunter creased a brow. He doesn't have a choice but to change this drunk woman. Hunter tried to find some clothes at the closet that Aisha had used before. She might have left some of her things.

There she found a few. He looked at Sophie sleeping soundly in his bed as she twirls around over and over again. It maybe because she's uncomfortable with her wet dress. He smirked. Sophie will definitely kill him once she discovers that he himself will change her entire clothes tonight.

***Her heart is in so much pain. The pain of losing a daughter whom you can't even remember and haven't seen for years hunted her thoughts. She's dead and she can't remember why. Silver told her that she didn't survived the sea.

"Is her name Emily?" Sherry asked Silver.

"Yes."

"Where did you bury her? I want to see her." she pleaded.

"You will see her tomorrow. For now, rest if you must." Silver stood up, "I'll see you later since I need to see someone today." Silver kissed her forehead then went out of the room. As soon as he exited the house, he called someone;

"Set up a grave. I'll send you the details." He sighed after he hung up then he called out his driver. "At the lab, faster." He ordered.

Meanwhile, Demetrius decided to stay in the North State for a couple of weeks. He needs to supervise the organization and their business as well. That alone caused Liam to stop his secret transactions. Rio is not stupid not to find out about it if he continues the transaction. Isn't he the king of the North? He needs to stop it for a while.

"You told me that Aisha is dead! How come my brother is confident that she's alive?" Liam was aggravated over the phone.

"Boss, I saw it with my two eyes. she lost a lot of blood! you've seen it too, right?" The woman in the other line responded.

"Yes, I saw the report but my brother said that she's alive. You should confirm it if she's alive or not."

"I'll let my team know about this. We'll dig deeper."

"You better do if you want to get your team to get the full payment!" he threatened before he hung up. He punched the wall.

"Damn that woman! why is she so lucky? She's not even a real Mikasa so why is she getting all the favor?!" he scoffed. He won't allow that to happen, not anymore.

He jolted when he heard a knocked at his study room, "Who is it?" he called.

"Sir, your brother asked you to see him in the garden, now."

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute.'' His brow creased. Why is he looking for him? is this because of what happened last night during the council meeting? Whatever it is, he needs to go.

He found Rio tending his garden, removing some of the dried leaves while Archie was standing in a corner.

"Brother, you were looking for me?"

"Ah yes. please give me a minute." He asked Liam to seat for a while, "You know I haven't been here for some time and some dangerous weeds started to grow without me knowing, but that's fine. Sometimes, it's okay to let them grow among the plants so it could be easier to uproot them when the right time comes." He is speaking in metaphor.

"You'll have a hard time pulling off the weeds when they are still small. Some useful plants might look like a weed in the beginning that's why you can't just clean the whole garden just like that. you have to wait patiently. Wait for them to grow, then you can distinguish which are weeds and which are not. That way, it is much easier to remove the weeds." Rio continued.

"Why are you telling me these brother? You know I don't have any interest with gardening." Liam asked although he knew that his brother is speaking in metaphor. Rio laughed.

"I know Liam. But who knows someday you'll want to learn how to grow plants? There's a lot of useful plants in the whole world that could be useful you know?" his facial expression change but it only last for some seconds.

Liam faked a smile. His brother wants to say something but his using an indirect approach.

"Liam, I'm sorry that I kept you in the dark about Aisha. I should have told you what had happened to her." Rio stood up and removed the gloves in his hands then he sat opposite Liam.

"What do you mean brother?"

"Aisha is in the central city. My men had located her in there." Rio started to explain.

"You mean you sent someone secretly to find out where Aisha is?"

"Yes that's right. when Aisha left the mansion, I received a report that she flew to the Central State so I sent men to watch her secretly. That's why I heard about the bounty hunters searching for her."

Liam was silent for a few minutes, "Did you catch the hunters?"

"No. someone else did. But not all the hunters. They are moving in packs. However, right now, they seemed to lay low."

"But is she alright?"

"Yes. but the problem now isn't the hunters. there are some people who wants to harm her, Hayato was one of them."

Liam's eyes widened in surprise. Did he say the Hayato? But he thought there good now.?

"They had recently attacked her that's why she is currently hiding."

"But why did you decide to tell me all about these?" Liam probed.

"Cause you deserve to know." He smiled. they talked a little longer. After a while, Liam excused himself.

"Are you sure about these, Rio?" Archie approached him.

"Yes. We need to try this method if we want to watch over his steps." His eyes were fixed at his brother who entered his car and drove off. "I need to confirm my doubts." his brows became rigid.

Liam was restless. Did Rio said that the Hayato family is in the central city and that they had attacked Aisha? So it is possible that Rogue is with that old man! he took his phone and dialed a number.

"Is it true that you are in Central State and that you attacked Aisha?" he irately asked. But the next thing he heard made him furious.

"What the hell were you thinking, huh? Why do you have to involve my son in your stupid revenge?!" He punched the steering wheel. His eyes flared in anger.
