Chapter 157 - VAMPIRE’S DEN PART 2

[KYLE POV]

"You sound like a wise man, whoever you are." Thea came into view then, and I finally saw what she looked like. She was pretty, and kind of unique looking. She had deep auburn hair that almost looked as if she had blood mixed into the color itself, and her eyes were a shining emerald green.

"Thea, my love, I am glad you're here. These men have something important to talk to you about." Salazar rose to his feet and walked to Thea's side as she got close. "Of course you have met Laremy before. These here are Baxter and Kyle, both felines and the latter of which is the Alpha of the Greater American Feline pack, and this here is-."

"I know Justin. We have met before." She looked at Justin with curious eyes. "We're not friends, but we've worked together on a few different occasions."

"That is wonderful." Salazar smiled at her.

"So, Justin, what is it that brings you here?" She asked with a slightly terrifying grin.

"These two." Justin pointed at me and Baxter. "I am just here as support." I suddenly remembered that we were supposed to have back up while we were here. Were they waiting outside for us to call them in, or were they not coming at all? Is it possible that Baxter didn't finish telling them the plan because of his mating? Yeah, that sounds about right. If anything happens, he better hope we make it out of here. The only good thing was that I didn't see very many Vampires here right now.

"OK, if that is how it is, then what can I do for you two gentlemen? Kyle and Baxter, right?"

"Yes, Ma'am." Baxter nodded at her. "I am Baxter, and this is my Alpha Kyle. We came here to ask for some help with some undesirables that have entered our city."

"Undesirables?" She just raised an eyebrow and looked at us curiously.

"What exactly do you mean by that?" Salazar asked him.

"Well, there is a group of werewolves that came into the city. They are from a pack in the south. They're from the Blue Run Wolf Pack in Tennessee to be exact, and they're here to kidnap my Felicitas."

"Ooh, sounds like there is a scandal here. Do tell."

At that, Thea folded herself onto a stool next to her mate and looked at Baxter with interest in her eyes. Baxter looked at me for permission before delving into the story. My nod to him was to tell him that he could speak freely.

With the permission given, Baxter started to give the explanation of what was going on. A brief run down of Jacy's past, a brief explanation of what had happened over the last six months, and then the explanation of what had happened last night.

"You mean to tell me that this man wants to drag a woman back to his home against her will, force her to marry him and bear his children, all while she is already married to that man?" She pointed at me while wearing a look that was half shock and half disgust. "And on top of that, this asshole of a man was in my club last night?"

Oh, it was clear that Thea wasn't very happy to hear that.

"Just so you all know," Salazar laughed as he started that sentence, "Thea truly hates it when men try to say a woman isn't as strong as a man. I mean, she is the most powerful vampire in our coven and faces constant criticism from the others. And if you say that this woman that he wants is an Alpha, then that would piss her off even more."

The look on Thea's face at what Salazar was saying looked just like something Jacy would give if someone explained some of her secrets to another person. It was literally giving me a 'shut up and let me look mysterious' kind of vibe.

"Hush, Salazar." She growled while glaring at him. "That is not the way that it is at all."

"Oh it is, and you know it, Thea. That is part of your charm and part of the reason that I love you." Salazar leaned over and kissed her cheek which caused a slight blush to creep up her cheeks.

"Whatever, that is beside the point. What matters is, what exactly do you want from us?" She turned to look at me with her intense eyes again.

"Well, Thea, we would like to try and find out if anyone from the club last night knows where these wolves went, what it was that they wanted from you all, and if they're ever seen here again perhaps you could help us detain them." I grinned at her.

"Ooh, so some nice strategy games. Possibly some covert ops and even some torture." Salazar grinned. "I would love to help out."

"I think that most of that sounds reasonable. However, I will not put my people into danger to detain these men. If it can be done then it will, but if someone tries it, and I am not around, I do not want them hurt." Thea was giving her approval of what it was that we wanted, but she was being careful as well.

"That is all that we could ask for. Thank you for your assistance." I bowed my head and showed her the respect she was due for her help.

We spent a little while longer talking about the things that happened, things that needed to be done, and then Baxter gave them printouts of what each of the suspected members of the pack looked like.

I was truly happy to finally be making some headway here. If this goes well, then we could catch them and take care of them before Jacy ever had to see them.

~~~~~~~~~~
When I woke up from my nap I found out that Kyle once again left without telling me anything.
"That asshole." I growled out in frustration. "Why the hell does he keep leaving while I'm sleeping? At this rate, I just won't ever sleep again. That should keep him from leaving without me."
EZ and Bastian were looking at me with worried eyes as they heard me ranting.
"Jacy, sweetie, I think you need to calm down a little. Kyle isn't gone forever, and he will be back soon." EZ was trying to calm me down but it wasn't working.
"He did leave you a note." Bastian offered his own words to try and soothe the savage beast that was me.
"Oh, really?" I wondered. "So he was considerate enough to do that this time? I guess I will need to read this letter." I forced the words out through my clenched teeth.
EZ immediately went toward the letter that was laying on the table and brought it to me.
"Here." He said holding it out toward me. "I will hold Maya, and you read the letter." He switched the letter in his hands for the baby in my arms. "Just take your time."
I watched as EZ went to sit on the couch next to Bastian. When I looked at them, I felt a little sad that they would never have kids of their own. The two of them looked so much like a family as they looked at my little baby girl held between them. It was actually a very touching sight.
I tried my best to focus on the letter in my hands. The envelope was addressed to 'My Dearest Jacy'. I could tell that he was already trying to be romantic when he was writing the letter.
"That dork." I smiled as I grumbled the words. "He's too cute sometimes." I gently opened the letter so that I didn't rip the envelope and pulled out the paper on the inside.
Jacy, my love,
I know that you are going to be upset with me when you wake up to see that I have, once again, left to take care of business while you were napping. I am not trying to upset you, I do hope that you believe me when I say that. I just know that you were tired for one thing. And honestly, there is another reason I am wanting you to stay back home.
Of course, the only person that can truly protect Maya is you. That is why I didn't want to bring you along with us. Who else could I trust to stay there and protect our little baby? The only way to be extra certain that Maya is safe is to make sure that one of her parents is with her almost all the  time until this threat has passed.
Please, my love, please believe me when I say that under any other circumstances, I would have you right here by my side so that we might stomp out this troublesome issue that much quicker and easier.
I will be home soon, Jacy, so please protect Maya and wait for me.
With all my love, Kyle
GAH! What an adorable moron. I love him too much. And he was right. I wouldn't trust anyone else to protect Maya right now. Only Kyle and myself were capable of doing that right now. She needed me. My little girl needed me. I had to be here to make sure that no one ever hurt her or upset her in any way. She was my baby, my flesh and blood, my whole world.. I wouldn't leave her side unless I absolutely had to.
