124 Chapter 124: I’m Scared Losing You

"Come with me." Spencer held Nathalia's hand and walked out of the door. Everyone watched in silence, and no one dared to interrupt.

He held her hand tight, keeping an eye on her, scared to lose her again.

"Did they hurt you? What happened? I'm here now. I will protect you." Spencer asked worriedly.

Nathalia rubbed her hand on her neck. "My neck hurts." Her voice was unusually soft. He had come to her when she was in need of help the most. He had saved her again. She felt his protection. And of course, she was touched, moved.

Despite her usual bravery, her toughness, at this moment, she just wanted to be protected, loved, and looked after.

Spencer gently lifted her hair to see the dark bruise on her neck. Anger flared up in his eyes. "I'm sorry. I wish I had protected you better. I wish I made it to you earlier." His voice was soft and sad, filled with regret.

Imagined if he had arrived a bit later, she could have been in a much worse situation. The thought made both of them shiver. Nathalia felt his genuine worries and tears just filled her eyes. "Please don't blame yourself. I'm alright." She said gently.

It was weird that when they were the closest, she didn't really truly feel his love. They had talked about getting married, and they were even engaged, but she always felt that it was surreal, like it wasn't something that she could grab onto, like it was just a dream, a beautiful one that one had to wake up from eventually.

However, right now, at this moment, she truly felt his love. It was real. It was passionate. It was irreplaceable.

She also felt his regret, his pain, his fear. She felt how he felt. It touched her heart, and it touched her soul.

"Nathalia, I'm scared, really scared." Spencer strokes Nathalia's cheeks softly, fear and pain in his eyes.

A strong sense of pain grabbed Nathalia's heart. She held his hands and pressed them on her cheeks. "What are you scared of?"

How he had missed her touch, the gentleness and warmth of it. It made him want to cry. "I'm scared that you get hurt. I'm scared that you are crying for help, but I'm not around. I'm scared that anything bad happens to you. I'm scared of losing you..."

Nathalia's heart shivered, seeing the pain on his face. "Hush. Hush. Spencer. I'm ok. I'm ok." She whispered, wanting to comfort him, yet at the same time, she was reminding herself not to get attached again.

He pecked a kiss between her eyebrows and said softly, "I'm sorry. Babe. I'm sorry." The kiss was like a key that unlocked the gate to the other side behind the wall of toughness inside Nathalia. She couldn't hold back the flooding of tears. She was sobbing.

They kissed till they were almost gasping for breath. His lips slowly parted from hers and landed on her pointed nose, then her cheeks...

Her face had turned rosy red, her breathing heavy. Then her mind spoke louder than her heart, and she pushed him away, "Spencer. No. We have separated. We can't...Let go of me." Though she had responded to his kiss so passionately, so willingly. Ahh. What have I done? Embarrassing.

Spencer embraced her even tighter, and he said cheekily, "No, I won't let you go anymore. Never again."

He had realized how important she was to him. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her. It would kill him. Thus, there was only one way, which was to be with her, to protect her. However difficult it would be, he would walk alongside her. Through thick and thin. Forever, together.

Seeing that familiar cheeky face, Nathalia felt so lost. Her heart wanted him, but her mind said no. As soon as she thought of the Carter, her mind won again. She threw a punch at him and yelled feebly, "Let go of me."

It was a gentle punch, but Spencer screamed, "Ouch." It frightened Nathalia. She then saw the blood seeping out of the bandage around his neck.

"Spencer!" She exclaimed. "You are bleeding! Your neck. What happened?" How can you get hurt? She had always thought that he was invisible, and nothing could hurt him.

Her face went pale. She put her hand on his forehead. It was hot. She panicked. "My god. I have to take you to the hospital now." She was crying, worried. Please. God. I don't want anything to happen to him. Why didn't he say?

Spencer smiled a content smile, his eyes spoke gentleness and love, and he said, "Nathalia, you do care about me."

"It doesn't matter. Hold on. We have to go to the hospital. You can't die. I only know you here." Nathalia cuddled him tightly, scared to let go.

"Still pretending to be tough. Ha. I know you care..." Spencer smiled again, but this time, he seemed weak. He closed his eyes as if he was running out of breath.

"No. Spencer. Spencer. Wake up! Please! Don't leave me. I can't lose you. Please. Wake up, and I will promise you anything..." Nathalia had almost fainted herself. Tears were streaming down her face. The pain was unbearable.

She had lost her senses and could barely think. All she knew was that he couldn't die.

She loved him. She really loved him.

"I heard what you said." Spencer opened his eyes and smiled another cheeky smile.

"You think it's funny?!" Enraged, Nathalia slapped him. I was scared to death. How could you play a joke like that?!

"Don't worry. I won't die." Spencer replied feebly. As soon as he said it, he fainted.

"Hey, Spencer! Not again! Help! Help!" her screaming echoed in the whole building, the sound of fear, of losing control.
