126 Chapter 126: He’s Somehow Change

It was obvious that she was thinking about it and she wanted it, but why did she deny it?

Nathalia could feel that she was about to give in, so she pushed Spencer away and went and lay down on the sofa in the corner. She curled up and covered her head with her jacket. "I'm tired and sleepy. I'm going to take a nap." Again, she was trying to avoid it.

Spencer watched her quietly, thinking, silly little thing, you can't solve problems by avoiding them.

But he decided not to push her again and let her sleep.

When Nathalia woke up the next morning, she was shocked to find herself curled up in Spencer's arms. She froze and didn't know what to do. Shit! How did it happen?

Though they had been together before, she had never slept next to him. She swollen nervously, glanced around, and tried to move his hand off her waist slowly. Just then, Spencer said with a laugh, "You've finally woken up. Get up then. You've been using my arm as your pillow. It's gone numb." His morning voice sounded extraordinarily sexy, and Nathalia blushed. Huh. Why did you bring me to bed last night then? So awkward.

Nathalia sat up quickly, crawled out of bed, and rushed into the bathroom without taking a look at Spencer. She literally escaped. Spencer watched her and giggled louder.

When she came out of the bathroom, she found that he had somehow changed. How he behaved and how he looked at her seemed to be different. She wondered why.

Spencer was very clever to take advantage of the fact that he was sick and got Nathalia to do this and that for him, mainly to keep her close to him. Like a little kid, begging to be spoiled.

If she ever said no, he would just look at her with a weak and sad face silently till she agreed. It's unfair to argue with a sick person. I will let him this time. Nathalia thought and compromised.

She ended up being his 24-hour personal nurse, taking care of him day and night. If his bodyguard had not told Nathalia how Spencer actually got hurt, she wouldn't have stayed for so long. When he finally recovered, she was more than ready to leave, but he managed to persuade her and took her to a beautiful restaurant by the sea.

They took a seat by the window with an incredible view of the ocean. Yet, Nathalia couldn't appreciate it. It reminded her of how she died in her previous life. It frightened her. How about this life? In half a year, I will be twenty. Will I have to go through the same pain and death, or will I survive?

She couldn't talk to anyone about it, including the man sitting opposite her, the man that loved her deeply.

"What are we doing here? I've got a lot of things to do back home. I want to go back as soon as possible. I wonder what's happening."

Spencer was dressed rather formally today, an Italian tailored suit bringing out his fit shape. He put on a sulking face and said, "We are having lunch here. That's what we are doing. There's no point worrying now." He had arranged this meal intentionally and just wanted both of them to enjoy and have a good time.

She wasn't in the mood but seeing his sad face, and she decided not to complain anymore.

The food was fantastic. The beef was tender and the seafood fresh and delicious. Every dish was perfectly prepared. As soon as she tasted the food, Nathalia had forgotten her worries and enjoyed every bite fully.

When the waiter brought the dessert, Nathalia almost jumped up from her seat, excited. It was blueberry pie, her favorite.

Delighted to see her happy face, Spencer's face lit up. "They make amazing desserts here. Enjoy." He said gently with a smile.

"I shall. Thank you." Nathalia replied with a bright smile and scooped a big bite. How she smiled made Spencer realize how rarely she showed a happy, childlike face like this. It was just for a meal. She had been holding it in so often and so long. A bitter feeling arose in him.

She had to be away from the heaviness of life in Miami, away from those people and the fights to be her true self. It was sad.

A waiter came over, bent down to speak to Nathalia. He uttered a few words, but Nathalia had no idea what he was saying.

"What did he say?" She asked Spencer, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Spencer smiled cheekily and said, "He said I deserve a better-looking girlfriend than you."

"Huh?" Nathalia pouted her lips and objected, "He doesn't have a taste. I'm pretty and elegant. He should have said that I deserve a better man than you."

"Cheeky little thing." Spencer stroked her hair lovingly and said something to the waiter in Italian. The waiter smiled and nodded.

"What did you say to him?" Nathalia was even more confused. What are they talking about? And with that weird smile.

Just then, Spencer suddenly leaned towards Nathalia and kissed her; a light flashed. The waiter took a photo of the couple.

"Spencer, please ask him to delete it. Quick. He has to delete it." Nathalia said hurriedly. Shit. He's got a photo of him kissing me. People can't see it.

She tried asking the waiter, who either genuinely didn't understand her or just pretended that he didn't. Helplessly, Nathalia asked Spencer again, but he only replied with a smile and said something to the waiter, who nodded happily and walked away with his camera.

Nathalia was about to stop him, but Spencer held her hand, "It's just a photo. Don't make a scene, please. Come enjoy your blueberry pie."

Nathalia was speechless and looked at Spencer in astonishment. He's somehow changed. What happened? Is it because I rejected him? I don't really understand him. "Can you please be a bit normal?" Strange character.
