139 Chapter 139: Greedy People

Nathalia took a sip of her drink, without turning around, and said indifferently, "Will I? Let's wait and see. I look forward to the day Mr. Frank Carter taking over the European market."

Evette walked up to Nathalia angrily. Every time she made an appearance, she made sure she was beautifully dressed up—an expensively made red dress with luxurious jewelry, totally attention-seeking.

"You are his daughter, but you are not giving him any support. Do you think that's acceptable? I pawned all my jewelry and took out my savings to support dad."

"They were given to you from him, though. Why are you proud of it, giving back something to someone?" Nathalia didn't take a look at Evette.

"Huh." Evette took a deep breath to calm herself down and swallowed the anger before she could continue, "All you have is also from dad, and you should give it all back to him." Evette looked Nathalia up and down, noticing the dress she was wearing was designed by a well-known French designer, as well as the beautiful diamond necklace, wondering how much they would cost.

It was the latest design on the Milan fashion show a couple of days ago. Apparently, it was the only one. She was shocked to see Nathalia wearing it. Immense jealousy burst inside her. How she wished she could take it away from her.

Nathalia bit her lips slightly, thinking, greedy people. A cheeky idea came to Nathalia. She smiled, turned around, and shouted to the stage, "Mr. Frank Carter, your lovely daughter Evette said everything I have is from you, and I have to give it all back to you. Is that right?"

The words reached everyone clearly. The crowd looked at each other and wondered what was happening. Nathalia herself already caught a lot of attention, now with her shouting out loud, of course, she'd got the whole crowd watching.

Frank was in the middle of a passion-filled speech when he heard Nathalia shout, and his face froze. Ann, who was sitting next to him, put on an annoyed face.

Sally's jaws dropped, at a loss.

Silence fell. Everyone waited quietly. Neither Frank Carter nor Ann Carter was someone to mess about. But Nathalia wasn't someone that anyone would want to displease either.

Richard, seated next to Frank, answered, "That's a joke. Nathalia Carter got the company shares from her grandfather. She was kicked out of the family with nothing. Nothing."

Richard didn't want to attend the meeting, but Frank insisted, saying it was for the benefit of the company. He only came to find out that Frank was just using him to boast himself. Anger had been brewing inside Richard. Now he had the chance to get revenge.

An evil smile appeared on Evette's face. "Mr. Richard Smith, why are you always so protective of Nathalia? I wonder if there's something going on between you two. It's..."

Before she could finish her words, a palm slapped hard on her cheeks, left and right. It left two red marks. Evette covered her face with her hands, shocked, sad, and embarrassed. "Spencer, you, you..."

Just then, the crowd noticed that Spencer, Patrick, Steve, and James had arrived, all looking serious.

Spencer walked closer to Nathalia, put one hand around her waist naturally, then said to his bodyguard coldly. "Not enough. Give her a few more slaps."

The bodyguard nodded, and he slapped Evette again. The sound echoed in the silent room. Evette was too shocked to know how to react. She just stood there and cried. No one dared to interfere or say a word. She asked for it, and she deserves it. All she's got is just a pretty face and an empty head.

Ann felt a stabbing pain in her heart, watching her daughter getting slapped in public. She asked their bodyguard to help, but he was useless compared to Spencer's bodyguard. Helplessly, Ann ran to Spencer and begged, "Mr. Spencer Davidson, please forgive my daughter. She didn't mean what she said. Please, please, stop this."

Ann went on begging, but Spencer wouldn't even take a look at her, and instead, he watched quietly. "Dad, mum, help me. Help me." Evette cried louder and louder from pain. Her face hurt terribly. My face is ruined! My god. The thought frightened her as her face, or her look was what she cared about the most!

It was driving Ann crazy. She couldn't stand it anymore, and she turned to Nathalia to plead with her. "Nathalia, she's your younger sister, after all. Please forgive her. Please stop this."

Nathalia learned onto Spencer, looking indifferent, and coldly said, "Again and again, I forgave her, but she never learned. I suppose she'd better have a taste of pain, and she might learn this time."

As it was Evette that started the insult, no one found Nathalia's reaction inappropriate. Also, Evette had gained herself such a bad reputation, and since the threesome incident, she had gone wild and got herself surrounded by men of money and power.

They came to her simply for her pretty face, and she had lost herself in their adoration, not thinking if they actually cared about her or loved her. And now that she needed help, no men offered it. No one would speak up for her.

Mrs. and mistresses were more than happy to see her suffer as she had been a threat to them.

Ann had dropped her pride and begged both Spencer and Nathalia, but it was useless. Desperate and furious, she turned to her husband, who had been struggling to find a way out. With so many people watching, how can I beg them? I don't want to lose face. "Enough, this is our place, and this is our own family issue. Mr. Spencer Davidson, please don't interfere."

Spencer lifted his eyebrows, and he replied sternly, "I'm just punishing someone who insulted my girl. If the Carters are so competent and proud, then the Davidson Group isn't good enough to cooperate with the Carter's Company, and we shall stop all the cooperation projects. From now on, wherever the Davidson Group is, the Carter's Company won't be involved at all."

His words thundered through the room, and everyone was astonished. Some gasped in shock, and some had their eyes wide open, staring at Spencer.

It was an announcement that the Carter's Company and the Davidson Group would have nothing to do with each other. Everyone in the field understood very well how influential Davidson was, and no one would like to be the opponent of them.

Shocked and frightened, Frank answered instantly, "Mr. Spencer Davidson, it was a pure misunderstanding. I will..."
