209 Chapter 209: Give Her Reassurance

"Wow, this place is busy. Why are there so many people?" Spencer exclaimed in surprise.

Holding Spencer's arm, Nathalia joined the queue. "When was the last time you went to the cinema?"

It made it feel real, with the people around, doing the normal things people do. As her birthday approached closer and closer, Nathalia couldn't help thinking about it more often, and somehow, she found comfort in places like this, where there were people, where there was life. I want to live it real, not like a dream.

This was a new experience for Spencer, waiting in a queue at the cinema. "Too long ago to remember." He replied a bit impatiently, "There are too many people. I will go and get us a VIP room..." What's the point in this? We have a mini cinema at home with the best equipment. He thought.

"I prefer waiting. Let's just do it the normal way today, ok? Have a normal date as normal couples do." Nathalia said encouragingly. Spencer agreed, a bit reluctantly.

Nathalia chose a film and got two tickets for a 'couple seat'. They were seats designed for couples, providing more privacy and intimacy. Afterward, she bought popcorn and coca-cola. Spencer carried the food with one hand and held Nathalia's hand with the other.

As soon as they got in and sat down, Spencer was very pleased, even excited that he had agreed to have a 'normal' date. "This is a 'couple seat'? This is brilliant." He whispered, yet barely hiding his excitement.

Who invented this? This is great. It's secretive and exciting. He thought and heard a couple kissing close by. Encouraged by the sound, he grabbed Nathalia and sat her down on his lap.

Nathalia giggled quietly. It looks like this is also his first time experience. Hahaha.

Spencer showered Nathalia with kisses.

"Now, you will always remember today, won't you?" Nathalia whispered.

"Of course, I will. The first time was going to the cinema with my girlfriend, discovering 'couple seat' for the first time..." Spencer replied as his fingertips traveled on Nathalia's skin up and down.

She surrendered to his kisses and strokes. "And you will always remember me, won't you?"

Then Spencer stopped, he held her cheeks with both hands, and in the dim light, he looked into her eyes and asked, "Nathalia, tell me, why? You are behaving a bit strange today." There was an odd feeling that something was going to happen. He didn't like it.

"Why? Nothing strange at all." Nathalia assured him and pecked a kiss between his eyebrows, then his nose, his cheeks, his ears... "Is this strange? Or this? Or this?"

Nathalia leaned on him like a baby koala, snuggled in his arms. "Spencer, I really, really love you. I love you very much." Her voice was soft and abnormally sincere.

Spencer grew more worried. "Please, babe, tell me. What's the matter? There's something you are not telling me." She's been behaving strangely lately, especially these last two days. She's never asked me to go on a date. This is not like her.

He could see she was hiding something, but he couldn't get her to tell him, and it worried him a lot.

Nathalia put her palm on Spencer's heart to feel its pounding beat. "I'm simply grateful. Don't you know that women are like this when they are in love? I'm a woman in love." She said with an assuring smile.

How could she tell him about having died once? How could she explain? It would be too absurd. I will keep it as my own secret.

"Really, you are not hiding something from me? You are not lying to me?" Spencer was half-convinced, half doubtful. He couldn't understand why, but his heart couldn't find rest.

Nathalia loved the scent of Spencer. Burying her head in his cuddle, she enjoyed the familiar scent of the man she loved greeting her nose. Somehow it made her want to cry. "You know what? I think people overestimated you when they called you a playboy because you don't even understand what we girls are like when we are in love. Hahaha." She teased to assure him. "By the way, do you really not remember the women you dated before?"

Spencer's heart skipped a beat, and he forgot about his doubt straight away as he explained instantly, "I don't remember a single one of them. Not at all. Hey, cheeky, you promised me not to talk about the past..."

Nathalia giggled. "Just this last time."

Hearing her giggles, Spencer heaved a sigh of relief. "Alright."

"I'm so happy today." Nathalia pecked another kiss on his forehead. I feel content, just being here with him, watching a film in a cinema.

"I will make you as happy as today every day, even happier than today!" Spencer returned with an affectionate kiss on her cheek.

His words brought tears to her eyes and a bitter-sweet feeling.

The lights were turned on as the film finished. Spencer saw the sweet smile on Nathalia's face and felt more relaxed. I wonder what it is about. She seemed to be very sensitive lately. I shall give her more reassurance, let her know how much I love her and that everything is fine.

The moon was full on Nathalia's birthday night. It shone brightly in the clear sky.

Nathalia took extra time to dress up today. Looking at herself in the mirror, she gave herself a smile of approval and said to herself, "Happy Birthday, Nathalia."

Spencer came in. "Nathalia."

Nathalia turned around to see Spencer gaze at her adoringly. He had forgotten to breathe, failing to take his eyes off her.

A white open-back bodycon dress revealed her perfect body shape and beautiful back. She wore her hair down, wavy and glossy. A navy blue diamond necklace adorned her fair neck, accompanied by a pair of gold plated blue crystal drop earrings. She looked stunning, like a beautiful flower in full bloom.

"Nathalia, you look ravishing..." Spencer finally found his tongue and exclaimed excitedly. Nathalia replied with a delightful smile and did a spin playfully. Spencer watched in amazement. "You look absolutely beautiful in that dress. I love it. I love you." Spencer exclaimed again.

"Thank you." Nathalia smiled. "Shall we go?"

"Yes, my princess." Spencer did a little bow and offered his hand. Nathalia giggled as she placed her hand on his.

"Honey, you look extraordinarily charming today," Nathalia said and pecked a kiss on Spencer's lips gently.
