276 Chapter 276: A Proud Lady She Is

That was why Spencer felt close to aunt Emma even though his mother was not, even though aunt Emma didn't have a very good reputation.

I see. He probably means the time when mum got hurt and lost her memories. Nathalia thought while listening attentively. She looked him into his eyes with much affection and wished she could have been there for him. Then she thought for a little while and asked cheekily, "If it happens again, I mean, if she's rude to me again, will you stand on my side?" Aunt Emma is obviously someone important to Spencer. I don't want to have more conflicts between her and myself. Nathalia thought.

"Well, I did stand on your side, didn't I? I was worried that you two would get into a flight, and it would upset you. That was why I suggested you go to see Sophie or go shopping. Also, we didn't want to disturb mum, right?" Spencer defended himself timidly. She's still sulking. Ha. My lovely Nathalia.

Nathalia felt much better hearing so; however, she retorted playfully, "Huh. Why didn't you ask aunt Emma to go out instead then?"

Spencer could sense that Nathalia was not upset anymore but simply being playful. He was relieved. "Well, she's a guest after all, right? We are polite people, and we respect our guests, don't we?"

"Huh." Nathalia pouted her lips, looking lovely. Spencer couldn't help tapping her rosy lips gently. A proud lady she is.

"Alright, next time, I will just throw her out. How's that?" Spencer said with a grin.

It made Nathalia smile. "I don't believe you." Of course, Nathalia understood that Spencer was just teasing. The bond between Spencer and aunt Emma wasn't built within a day, and it would not break just like that.

It's alright. If she 'attacks' again, I will find a way to defend. Nathalia thought to herself.

Spencer seemed to have guessed Nathalia's thoughts. He turned her around and pecked a kiss on her lips. "My silly Nathalia, you are the most important to me, always. Always."

Sweetness filled Nathalia's heart as her cheeks grew rosy red. She smiled and hugged Spencer, burying her head in his embrace. "Alright, so if she is rude to me again, you have to help me."

"Yes, madam!" Spencer replied sharply with a salute. And both laughed.

"However, I don't think my Nathalia needs help anyway. When I saw aunt Emma's expression, I was actually quite worried about her. No one had ever dared to talk to her like you did, you see. Hahaha."

Nathalia giggled. "Hahaha. Right. By the way, tell me more about aunt Emma. I'm quite interested in her story." So Spencer did.

Aunt Emma was kind of like the "black sheep" of the family, rebellious and ambitious. She had a talent for design and art since she was little. When she was fifteen, she won an international fashion design competition and became famous. Gradually, she created her own fashion queendom and became an important figure in the fashion scene worldwide. People called her Ms. Fashion. Her brands spread all over the world, and she possessed an incredible sum of fortune.

Nathalia listened with her eyes wide open. "Wow. She's somebody." She had not expected such a story at all.

Spencer felt rather proud of his aunt. "Yeah. She's very successful. She's never married, though, and she doesn't have kids. She can be odd sometimes, so don't take it to heart much."

Nathalia pondered for a while and replied, "Hmmm. I will see it. I don't like to cause conflicts, but if someone doesn't respect me, I defend myself."

Spencer stroked Nathalia's hair gently and said understandingly, "And you should. I won't let anyone hurt you, babe, anyone, including my family."

Nathalia smiled a satisfactory smile, stood on tiptoe, and kissed Spencer. "Alright, I forgive you now." Spencer took the opportunity and embraced her tighter, kissed her passionately, then moved his lips onto her cheeks, her brows, her lips, and down her neck. They could feel both their desire was on fire.

Some noise from the room startled Nathalia. Her body went stiff, and she patted Matt to suggest he stop and blushed terribly. "Honey, we are at the hospital."

Spencer wouldn't stop. His heart was racing fast. He embraced her tighter and kissed her more passionately. Nathalia stroked his back gently and tried to remove herself from his drowning passion, "Honey, mum's outside." Spencer groaned.

He took a few deep breaths to cool down the fiery desire in him. Nathalia stayed still and felt his body relax slowly. She tried to change the subject and redirect his attention. "Do you know what happened between mum and aunt Emma? Mum didn't seem to welcome aunt Emma at all."

"I don't know. I've asked, but they never really told me." Spencer said rather indifferently, still thinking about Nathalia's warm body and soft skin.

A lot of rumors went about town regarding Mrs. Davidson being hospitalized. Photos of her being carried to the ambulance, her face pale, her head bloody, were all over the internet. There were also photos of Curt walking out of the apartment building afterward. Though there were no statements saying directly that he hit Mrs. Davidson, the implication was clearly expressed.

Talks and gossips went on and on. The public started to accuse Curt of his cruelty towards his wife, to criticize him for being violent just because he didn't want to give away any property. His reputation went downhill overnight. They called him 'the merciless violent Curt Davidson.' Someone even named him 'the man of violence' and the name became known within hours.

Curt didn't react to any of it. He stayed in his office. Even the Davidson press didn't offer an explanation. It looked like it was going out of control.

Matt knocked at the door, waited, and there was no answer. He frowned and opened the door. As expected, Curt was watching the news online.

Matt brought some food. He put it down on the desk and said gently, "Dad, I got you lunch. The news is just rubbish. Please don't take it to heart."

"Thank, but I don't feel like eating," Curt said indifferently without even taking a look at the food. He disguised his emotions very well, but Matt could tell he was upset and worried.

An idea crept up his mind. He heaved a sigh and said, "Dad, you have to take care of your body. I'm really disappointed in Spencer. I mean, however, he dislikes you, he shouldn't have told the media."

On hearing so, Curt looked up at Matt. "Do you think it was Spencer?" Matt felt a sudden shiver down his spine. He managed to smile an awkward smile and said, "Well, there was only Spencer and Nathalia there when it happened."
