294 Chapter 294: I Can’t Lose

You didn't mean to hurt me? Hahaha. Spencer found her ridiculous. She's sick. Her mind is twisted. She only thinks about herself.

"What's done has been done." Spencer snapped. Then very gently, he said to Nathalia, "Babe, shall we go home?" He extended his hand out, looking at Nathalia into her eyes affectionately. Though he seemed calm, if one looked closer, one could see that his hand was shaking.

He was anxious. All he wanted was to be home with his wife, to feel safe with her. Yet, he worried that she would not forgive him, that he had hurt her.

The crowd watched anxiously. How will Mrs. Nathalia Davidson react?

Seeing the worries in his eyes and his shaking hand, tears filled Nathalia's eyes. She glared at him briefly, hesitated for a bit, then put her hand in his. Spencer quickly held it tight, brought it to his lips, and gave it a kiss. His eyes sparkled as if he had seen hope in the longest waiting.

The crowd heaved a sigh of relief. Some were jealous, some envious, and some were happy for them.

"Mr. Spencer Davidson, what's your opinion on your wife's decision?" someone asked. Going to court wasn't something pleasant, especially for someone of great success and fame.

Spencer smiled happily, looking at Nathalia affectionately, and replied, "My wife's decision is the best. Whatever she does, I support her one hundred percent."

"And what do you think about this incident?"

Spencer paused for a few seconds before he answered, "I trusted someone, and I was betrayed, but I still believe that there are trust and real love. However," he looked at Emma for a bit and continued, "some people don't deserve it."

Emma gasped. She felt like she could not breathe. She felt that she was going to lose something that was possibly the most important to her.

In despair, she shouted after Spencer as he was leaving the room, "Spencer, I apologize. Please forgive me, Spencer. Please forgive me."

Spencer didn't stop, nor turn around, but went straight into the lift. Aunt Emma collapsed onto the floor, tears running down her face, and she went on pleading, "Spencer, I'm your aunt Emma. I've loved you ever since you were born. It was stupid of me. I apologize..."

People were astounded by Emma's reaction. She was, after all, the renowned Ms. Fashion, the arrogant, proud woman that always composed herself well. Who would have expected her crying in public, begging even!

She must be truly feeling remorseful then. They thought, or she had made them think so.

Showing pity on her, some offered to help. "Mr. Spencer Davidson, she's your aunt after all, and she seems truly apologetic..."

Spencer caught a glance at Nathalia and seemed to guess her feelings. He squeezed her hand gently, then he stopped, without turning around, he said icily, "If you can order the sun to rise from the west, then I might consider forgiving you."

Emma's face went pale. She looked so weak that she seemed like she would faint. "Spencer, you are like my own child. I've always loved you as a son to me..."

A sneer appeared on Spencer's face. "Have you? Have you actually loved me? I really doubt it." I was too young to understand love. I thought she loved me only because I was alone because I wanted love from my parents. I've never really known her and vice versa.

Anna had been standing by the door, watching quietly, but all of a sudden, she ran towards Spencer and screamed, "Spencer, we did sleep together. You were so happy cuddling me, kissing me then. Why? How can you just deny everything? I love you so much, and I would give up everything for you."

Anna still wouldn't give up. She had to give it one more try, she thought. There's no going back now. I don't care how people think of me, or even my family. I can't lose!

The bodyguards were guarding Spencer and Nathalia off Anna, so she couldn't get close, which only made her scream louder.

Nathalia found her so repulsive that she had goosebumps all over her arms. I can't understand how her brain works. Isn't it clear that everyone knows the truth and that she's lying? Has she not got anything better to do but keep chasing someone's husband all the time? Has she got no self-respect? Does she not realize that she's humiliating herself and her family?

Spencer looked at her with contempt and said icily, "I don't want anything from you, and I don't want to have anything to do with you. You disgust me." She had once more astonished him with her ridiculousness and shamelessness.

Anna felt like falling into hell from heaven. How she imagined her future life with Spencer just a couple of hours ago, and now she was totally rejected. In despair, she pointed at Nathalia and yelled frantically, "What about her then? Don't you see how cruel and merciless she is?! She wants you to go to court to embarrass you! How can you allow her to do that?"

Everyone turned to look at Nathalia to see her reaction and was impressed to see that she was as calm as ever.

Spencer snapped angrily, "It's YOU that embarrasses me! Not her. Every time, you only know to blame others when you are wrong; you only know to act pitiful. Don't you even dare to accuse my wife again!" Her 'cruelty' is only for those that deserve it. She's the loveliest, the most loving person I've ever known how she cares for her friends and family! How she brings joy and light to us!

The more he thought about it, the angrier he grew, and he added threateningly, "Remember, don't let me see you again, or I will have someone beat you up every time I see you." No, I won't just kill you because that will be too easy on you.
