Chapter 205 - I'm Sorry, Baba

"Guangru? What do you mean you're not a ghost?" Yun He shuddered. What not a ghost? This facility only had two kinds: human or ghost. There's nothing else that could exist here that wouldn't make news. Then again, Yun He had seen what a ghost could do. Guangru couldn't really be… just a ghost.

The child giggled and didn't answer. He then pranced along the hallway and took a few turns, soon arriving at the corridor where Pacman was. The King growled at him before attacking relentlessly as if not knowing who Guangru was. However, the child only continued to prance through the hallway as if unaware of the danger.

Yun He's mouth opened, but he didn't know what to do. Even if he was afraid of Guangru's nature, how could he watch a figure—who seemed so much like a child—die so helplessly? He had never seen Guangru go against anything in this facility; even the fight between Liu Xiaodan and Mian Qingwei shocked him.

It's just that… Liu Xiaodan's nature was questionable, but Guangru was still a kid ghost.

"Guangru, that King will devour everything it sees. Get out of there!" Yun He couldn't help it. He was a nurse, and even if he wasn't in pediatrics, he still used to see a lot of children being misdiagnosed because of their ability to see spirits.

"Devour?" Guangru stopped prancing and watched the humongous mouth open and land on his spot.

Before Yun He could say anything again, Pacman's body wriggled. Soon, it exploded as vines had enlarged and uncurled from where the King should be. In the center of it was the child who wasn't even drenched in blood or saliva. He even giggled. "Nurse Yun, don't be like Baba. It's bad to lie. That's not how you devour things!"

His eyes then reflected bright red light as he blinked, gaze straight right at the camera. A low howl then echoed through the headset. "Do you want to see what devour means?"

Yun He slapped the headset off of him and shoved his back against his chair. He wanted to run off, but his knees were locked in their places. His feet wouldn't even move as well. He was just staring at the red-eyed thing gazing at him from the screen. Since Guangru's lips were moving, he seemed to be saying something. However, the nurse couldn't pick it up again...

"Nurse Yun, relax." Wu Zhong took the headset and wore it. He looked at the child and noticed that he had stopped talking. The smile was also gradually decreasing as the eyes started to glare. Wu Zhong then pushed on the talk button. "Your name is Guangru?"

"Listen to me, disgusting mortal. Liu Xiaodan only stays here because he feels safer within the bounds of a facility that could keep him from killing more people." The voice coming out of the headset was a bit more of an old man's than a sweet child, but it had its own bone-chilling tone. "However, now that you are compromising that idea of paradise, it will be a matter of time before he tries to leave.

"When he does, I will swallow everything in this place, and that will include you and your blatant pursuits of death and destruction." The child then smiled, but the grin was threatening. "This is your last warning. If you push it further upon Mo Xingli's death, I won't be responsible for keeping everyone around you alive.

"You will become… one of many who had fallen underneath these roots…"

Wu Zhong frowned back at the screen before sweeping his eyes across the room. Not everyone was looking at the screen or at him. He then flicked his eyes at the nurse staring at him before bringing his gaze back to the screen. His lips curled up as if acknowledging the warning. "Funny how you speak so big, little demon. If you really want to go on with your plan, I'll be ready. Do you really think I'm scared of you?"

The man held onto the button with his left hand before suddenly taking out a 9mm revolver from a hidden back holster. In a swift movement, he aimed it at Yun He's head and shot him point-blank. Even Song Qixi was shocked when someone dared to kill in what was supposed to be a no-killing zone. The agent next to the nurse couldn't help but scream, as well as the rest.

Thud. The body hit the floor after falling off of the chair. Wu Zhong holstered the gun again before pulling off the headset and throwing it on the ground. Guangru didn't make a sound, but it's evident in his eyes that he knew of what happened. Wu Zhong then moved to leave the room. "I want everyone who got in contact with Liu Xiaodan to be under surveillance twenty-four hours."

He paused right next to Song Qixi. "Keep an eye on that boy you paralyzed. If that thing could jump in and out of the Treatment Hall, the demon's bound to find that boy. If you cannot handle the responsibility, kill the boy immediately. Don't be too scared. The demon can't stop a bullet."

With his hands behind his back, Wu Zhong left the Control Room. Utility people quickly raced inside to deal with the dead. Song Qixi then made a move and spoke to them: "Don't dispose of it. I need that body as fresh as possible. Do you understand?"

The child was both furious and afraid. That Mr. Wu just shot Yun He point-blank without a care as if he knew the limitations of a demon's power. He shot Yun He today… what was Guangru's guarantee that the next bullet wouldn't be on those Liu Xiaodan would genuinely care for? As long as the other Halls continued to be outside Guangru's reach, no one would be safe…

"...I'm sorry, Nurse Yun…" Guangru took off the earpieces and destroyed them with the crumple of his small fists. He then continued to stand there before looking at his small hands. "I'm sorry, Baba… but you won't be able to handle any deaths… not one of your own..."

Faint light glowed before him, and Guangru hopped into the light. When he emerged from the other end, he was standing in front of an open room. The door was huge just like the door on Liu Xiaodan's cell. This was a paddock of another King, just one in this corridor where all of them were kept. Since all the paddocks were open but with the cameras breaking one by one, the Kings began to crawl out as if wanting to butcher the weakened demon.

Abaddon, the owner of the paddock Guangru was standing before, moved out like a slow black flood. "Are you here to be my food, child?"

"Abaddon, let's have a truce." Guangru looked up at the eyes of the black flood before smiling. "You have to promise me that you will stop trying to eat my father. In exchange…"—the voice changed again—"I'm breaking the maze here in the Treatment Hall, and you can have the whole facility for yourself."
