Chapter 324 - Theory Test

Guangru vanished, and the wooden vine steps collapsed. The ground started to tremble, and it was like an earthquake was hitting the whole place. Chuan Nayi gathered her wits and got to her feet, as much as everyone in the place. What Guangru did had countered the shadow woman's presence.

The woman growled as she waited for the other's attack. What surprised everyone in the room was that a single huge vine shot out of the ground and pierced through the shadow woman. She tried to block his attack with her arms, and yet she was quickly pierced as if it was a hot knife against butter.

An agonizing scream came from her as her c.h.e.s.t was impaled, and she couldn't even make use of her arms. The big vine wrapped around her and crushed against her body. Upon feeling this massive pressure coming from the demon child, the woman only cried out again.

"Do you still refuse?" A low howl echoed in the place, and the shadows were even wavering as if they were also scared for themselves.

"...re… release… freedom..." The woman started to laugh out softly. Death should be the next best thing for her. If she couldn't be released from her seal, then she should just die and vanish. At least, even if she wouldn't reincarnate in the next world, she wouldn't be forced to live longer than necessary.

However, who was Guangru? Was he a normal demon who would devour everything in his path? A soft huff then came from the wind, and the wooden vines broke in an instant. The shadow woman let out a scream as she was spared from death. The dust that came from the breaking vines then reformed into the demon child.

Unlike earlier, he was now sporting a rather malicious smile as if he had already claimed victory. With the black horse in his arms, he ran back to Mian Lunsen who was now doing better after getting hit by the car. Even if he was dying, Guangru could simply heal him. 

He then used a hand and pointed at the limping shadow woman in midair as if he was an innocent child that was aggrieved from having his candy stolen. "Uncle! Guangru found her sealed shrine three floors underground." His smile then grew extremely evil. "She's already so weak. You can seal her again."

"What?" Hao Chengyi was terrified by the look in the eyes of the child. Even Chuan Nayi stepped back from the view. It's just that Mian Lunsen laughed out and even reached down to pet the child. "So this is why the doctor likes you so bad. Well, then… as a member of the Mian family, I am obligated to dispose of entities that are deemed terrible at coexisting with humans.

"As my powers are not strong enough to completely purify or destroy such a very powerful and impossible entity as you are, I must at least do my very best—even through my dying breath—to make sure that you will never disturb humans ever again." Mian Lunsen made quite a strange speech that only angered the shadow woman… at the same time exciting the demon child. "I… will proceed with the Infinite Straw seal."

The Infinite Straw seal was designed for demons with human origins. Mian Tianyu had devised this seal and had been one of the most powerful seals of the Mian family. Only a few could accomplish this seal… and Mian Lunsen ended up being one of them.

Hearing about this had made the shadow woman roar, but her threats were rendered useless when the demon child took a look at her. Of course, he knew what the woman wanted the most; he was an ancient wishing tree. If she didn't want to be offered to his Baba, then she should continue suffering after rejecting Guangru's offer.

This kind of tactic wasn't new or even brutal to the people of Mr. Li. Actually, they would use it a lot to make people pay. Neither was it something that Mr. Li would shy away from. This was also why Guangru felt okay working with the henchmen of Mr. Li. They understood him at some point.

"Monsters! Insolent creatures! Ugly humans!" The woman clawed at the ground as soon as she fell down on it slowly. She couldn't really pose so much threat now that she had been weakened by the demon child to be resealed without repercussions against Mian Lunsen. It didn't help that the henchmen proceeded to descend to the lower floors with the protection of the black horse and the demon child.

"You should've taken the offer." Mian Lunsen only smiled. "But sure, let me call that child's father and see if he wanted to deal with you himself instead. Come on, Chengyi, Miss Chuan." He gestured to the two who were only looking at them as if they didn't realize that this… was an acceptable way to do things.

Then again, Chuan Nayi remembered that these people were used to doing the dirty work for Li Heilong. With a ruthless master, how could she expect his underground people to be golden-hearted—humane even? She quickly gathered her wits and walked with Guangru holding onto her hand. Since she had gone away, Hao Chengyi decided to follow suit.

However, Hao Chengyi took one look at the shadow woman before completely leaving the floor.

Liu Xiaodan was actually doing a mock theory test at the Mian Residence's study hall where potential students take exams before they become apprentices of the Mian family. Right now, he was the only one sitting there while Mian Tianyu was at the cushion seats for the teachers. Li Feng was called out by some seniors and had to help out on a mission. Unfortunately, Mian Tianyu decided to take over since it was just a mock theory test.

Since it was the Mian master who was there, the other entities didn't dare show up. Neither did Li Yunru and Qiao Shan decided to hang out with Liu Xiaodan. Truly, it was Liu Xiaodan who was answering his theory test… and my, was he struggling.

On the other side of the room, Mian Tianyu only stared at the young man who had a visible 'I am screwed' written on his face. His frown then deepened. "Why are you taking so long in answering the questions, Xiaodan? Aren't you supposed to be done an hour ago?"

"...I… I don't know the answers..." Liu Xiaodan lowered his head as he stared at the half-filled test paper page. Even if the theory test was normally taken through a computer, the Mian family didn't have an exam room for that. Li Feng had to print out the exam he did for Liu Xiaodan.

"Didn't you study with Feng'er?" The tone of the grandfather was too curious and bewildered that Liu Xiaodan wanted to cry. The young man could only scratch his head. Then, Mian Tianyu frowned. "Could it be that he didn't teach you the memory seal?"
