Chapter 722 - 47: Call Me When You’re Ready

"You should apologize to her. You're embarrassing her,"

Sitting next to Ivy, Clarence looked at her and warned her with impatience.

He helped Ivy because she was Angela's sister and her mother asked him to take care of her. Otherwise, he didn't bother to do it. He hated to come close with this woman, but he had no option at all.

"I'm sorry. I don't know modeling much."

Ivy learned Clarence's kindness and knew she had to do it.

If she continued embarrassing Angelo, she would ruin her image. But if she admitted her shortcomings now, people might forgive her.

Since Clarence warned her, she knew he would help her.

Hearing Ivy's apology, the audience lowered their voice.

Clarence picked up the microphone and gave a warm smile.

"Could you please do me a favor and let Ivy stay here? After all, this is not a modeling contest, right? She's just mistakenly done something out of her control,"

Most of the audience was Clarence's fans. Since Clarence spoke for Ivy, they didn't want to embarrass him and just shut up.

"I heard that Clarence was close to Ivy. Now it seems like that," the host joked to activate the atmosphere.

Ivy blushed, looking shy, but deep inside, she wanted to scream and slap this young model who humiliated her in public.

Angelo felt sad. There were many reports about Ivy being in love with Clarence. Angelo knew it. That was why she had buried her love for him deep inside.

Now she knew she couldn't do anything about Ivy, which was not what she wanted. But it was a start. She would get revenge sooner or later.

Thinking of that, she clenched her hands and looked at Ivy with a smile. Then she walked back backstage.

"This is Gabrielle Clark's work. Now let's move on to the next model's presentation," the host declared.

Daisy was confused about all these things, but she could only wait for the result of the match.

Angelo got back to the dressing room. Looking at herself in the mirror, she gave a wry smile. She had never expected to meet Clarence here.

"Excuse me, may I have your name, Miss?"

As she was in a daze, she heard a familiar voice. She turned around to see Clarence standing behind.

At this time, the host was announcing the winner, and Clarence didn't need to be at present. So, it was not surprising that he came here.

"I'm An…" She halted immediately.

Subconsciously, Angelo wanted to say "Angela," but she then remembered her identity as the sixth young master of the Thorne family now and stopped her words.

"Is there any problem?"

Clarence sat down. The more he looked at Angelo, the happier he felt.

"Yeah."

Angelo nodded. She didn't want to lie to Clarence.

But Clarence just gave an understanding smile. He tapped the table and asked tentatively, "Do you know Angela?"

Angelo didn't expect to hear her name and was panicked. Did Clarence see her through?

No! Angelo was nothing like Angela, he couldn't recognize her. She tried to calm down and nodded.

"Yeah, I know. She was a famous actress."

Angelo didn't want to give herself such a high evaluation, but she was clear in mind that those were the words anyone who knew Angela would say.

"Yes, she was a good actress. And I think you can be another her. Do you believe that?"

Clarence said, and his eyes were firm. Angelo froze for a moment, then a look of resignation came over her face.

It was Angela. Of course, she believed she could be "another Angela."

Seeing her expression, Clarence thought she didn't believe him. He frowned and looked at her again.

"Do you know the movie that made her popular?"

"Yeah. The one you directed."

She said the name of the movie, as well as the impact it brought.

Looking at her talk, Clarence had more confidence in his eyes and asked as soon as she finished her words, "Are you a fan of Angela?"

Hearing the question, Angelo hesitated. "Yeah," she still gave a firm answer. Of course, she was a fan of herself.

"That's good!"

Clarence clapped his hands, looking excited. He coughed to calm down and then said seriously, "Actually, I'm looking for a heroine for my movie. I think you are the right person. Do you want to come to the audition?"

He was a little nervous because he finally found the right girl for his movie after such a long time. If she refused, he didn't know when he would find "another her."

When he saw Angelo, he knew that he could never find a better girl than her for the movie.

Angelo hesitated. She knew Clarence was preparing for a new movie, which she was interested in.

But then she thought of Drake's cold face and her responsibility as a Thorne, she shook her head.

Seeing that, Clarence turned his head away, pretending he didn't see it.

Angelo saw his look like this and couldn't help laughing. When Clarence asked her to be his heroine for the first time, he shook his head because of her bad acting. Now he did this again.

Hearing her laughter, Clarence was confused but still tried to persuade her, "Miss, I know you are a fan of Angela. I promise you will be as popular as her if you act in my movie."

Looking at Clarence like this, Angelo felt that he now was like a human trafficker who was trying to fool a little kid.

"Think about it. Please don't rush to answer me. Call me when you're ready."

Clarence took a name card from his pocket and handed it to Angelo. Then he stood up to leave.

Looking at the back of Clarence, Angelo's face blushed. She covered the card on her c.h.e.s.t and closed her eyes.

Just then, Daisy came in with a trophy. When she saw Angelo like this, she gently placed the trophy on the table, crept up to Angelo, and wanted to take the card from Angelo, who suddenly hid the card away. So, Daisy's hand just touched Angelo's c.h.e.s.t.
