What was on the plate was, a giant sized piece of steak, some freshly baked bread, some corn, a bowl of potato soup, and honey-mustard eggs. It looked freaking delicious!! I started to devour the food, it honestly looked like way too much food to me. As I was eating, Orion ate all of his fish, which is odd considering the 2 fish were bigger than him. I then looked over to Arialle, who was looking at me in complete shock.
"What??" I asked her.
"Uhh. . . You almost ate all of your food so quickly!!" She said in an excited tone.
"Huh?" I said while I started to look down.
When I stared at my plate, it was almost empty. Only a bite was left of the steak, the corn was gone, about 2 bites were left of the bread, the eggs were gone also, and same with the soup.
"Holy shit!!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, I know the feeling. . ." She said quietly while looking at her own plate.
Her plate still had most of the meal still on it. The only thing that was gone, was the potato soup. It had only taken me a few more moments to finish my meal, since I only had a couple of bites left. After I finished mine it had taken her about 30 minutes to eat almost all of hers, but she pushed her plate away after that.
"You full??" I asked her.
"Yeah, that was a lot of food. It isn't a bad price for 3 silver." She genuinely said.
"Alrighty, so where are we going first?" I asked her while standing up.
"To the Adventurer's Guild, we need to get you signed up with them." She said while she also stood up.
Orion hopped onto my shoulder from the table while I was standing up. Luckily it wasn't that far of a jump. So I followed Arialle out the door of the tavern. While we walked we discussed some things like, how did I end up there, where did I fall and get hurt, and etc. It only took us about 30 minutes to walk from the tavern to the Adventurer's Guild. The building was quite large! It was about the size of 3 buildings from my world. Which would be the size of a mansion from my world. Arialle ushered me forwards after bit, because she noticed I was staring at the building with my mouth agape. After we went inside, I noticed that there was a lot of people standing in lines, over next to a wall with papers on it, or just sitting down at the tables and chairs they had.
"What are they doing next to the wall?" I asked her.
"They are looking at the quest board where you can get any level of quest. It also depends on what rank you are in the guild." She said while pushing me towards one of the lines.
It had only taken us a few moments to get to the front of the line, which at the front was a very beautiful lady. Actually, she isn't just a lady, she is an ELF!!! I looked at her with wide eyes.
[There are more than just humans in my world. . .]
{You never told me that!}
[Eh, you would have figured it out sooner or later.]
"Hi there! Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild. May I see your Adventurer's Coin please?" the elf attendant said.
"Uh. . . My what??" I asked.
"She means this." Arialle said while taking out her coin from her ċhėst pocket.
"Oh, I don't have one of those." I said.
"Oh are you new to the Adventurer's Guild then?" The elf attendant asked.
"Yes , I am new here. I was told by Arialle that I would have to come here before I started doing any quests." I told the attendant.
"She is indeed correct. If you would follow me, I will get you certified as an adventurer that way you can start your first quest here!" She told us.
So we followed her to a back room where she motioned us to sit down at this small table. As we sat down, she was in the process of grabbing some papers from an alcove in the wall.
"Alright, now I will ask you a few questions first, then afterwards we will take you to a room and determine what you will be!" She told me.
"I don't get to pick?" I asked her.
"Oh you do get to pick, but we also have to do a magic text to find out if you have any magical ability." She said to me while setting the papers down onto the table.
"Oh ok!" I exclaimed.
"Now first question, what is your name?" She asked.
"Arthrall Pendragon." I said to her.
"What class are you wanting to be?" She then asked me.
"Uh. . ." I started to wonder.
[Ranger. . .]
{Oh yeah, I forgot. Sorry.}
"A Ranger." I said immediately after.
"Ahh, a Ranger. So is that dragon going to be your companion?" She asked while pointing at Orion.
"Yes, his name is Orion Pendragon." I told her.
"Well I was about to ask what the companions name was, but looks like I don't have too." She told me while chuckling.
"Sorry. . ." I said to her while looking down at the table.
"Don't apologize, it is a good thing!" She told me while laughing a little bit harder.
Arialle just snickered next to me. . .
"Ok, well that takes care of the question, next is the test. So follow me please!" She said while standing up, and then stacked the papers together and took them with her.
Arialle and I stood up afterwards and follow her outside of the room, She then took a left outside of the room, and went down a corridor to the left side of the main room. We walked for about a minute before she walked into another room. This room was actually quite big, it had targets, a ring on the floor, it had all sorts of weapons on the wall, and there was a guy standing talking to another person.
"Hello Phillip!" The lady said to one of the guys standing in the room.
"Hey there Faylin! Are these two new recruits?" He asked Faylin.
"No, only one of them are." She said while smiling towards him.
He told the other person he would talk to them after he was done here. So the other person bowed towards him and went out the other side of the room.
"Hi there, my name is Phillip. Don't need to know my last name yet until you get higher on the rankings in the guild." He said towards us.
"Hello! I am the one being recruited into the guild!" I said towards him.
"Oh ho ho! So you are the one join us! Good! Now what are you wanting to be?" He asked me.
"A Ranger sir." I told him.
"Hmm a Ranger huh? Alright, do you have a bow and arrows or a gun with bullets?" He asked me.
"Actually, neither sir." I said towards him. Afterwards, I told him about what had happened to me before I stepped into this town.
"Hmm. . . Well that does suck, but I'm glad you are alright. Check to make sure he hasn't registered with the guild before, while I check out his abilities so far." He said to Faylin and I.
"Will do!" Fayling said to him.
"Now, go ahead and take a bow and a few arrows off the wall there and stand over near that hay bale." He told me.
So I went over to the wall and looked at the bows on the wall. There were longbows, shortbows, and crossbows on the wall. I decided to go with a shortbow, so I grabbed a shortbow and some arrows. Walked over to the spot he told me to, and waited for him to tell me what to do next.
"Alright, now go ahead and shoot at the closest target there." He told me.
So i notched an arrow and took aim. While I was taking aim something came into my vision, it was like a target tracker. It moved around when ever I moved my eyes away from the target.
{What is this?}
[That would be your target tracker. Since you told me you were going to be a ranger, I decided to implement it into your vision.]
So I took aim at the target, and noticed my vision getting closer to the center of the target. After i was very close to the center, I let go of the arrow. It went straight towards the center within a quick second.
"Wow, that was very fast. Hmm. . . Alright, I want you to aim at the furthest target there is in here and to try and hit it." He said towards me.
I nodded. Then I looked at the targets, and found the furthest one. I took aim at it, it took me a little bit longer this time to take aim, but I was able to do it. Then I let go of the arrow again, except this time it shot out even faster than before. It hit the direct center of the target.
"Hmm. . . You are perfect at being a Ranger, that is for sure." He said while shaking his head a little bit from side to side.
"I am??" I asked.
"Yeah you are. Now I noticed you have a sword, did you have that when you were found by Arialle?" He asked me.
"Oh, no I didn't. She actually gave it to me because I was being chased by a slime. . ." I told her while looking down with a slight red tint to my cheeks.
"Hahaha. . . Don't look upset there bud. If she hadn't come by when she did, then you wouldn't be here. Ok well, how are your sword skills then?" He asked.
"Terrible." I point blank stated.
"Hmm. . . Alright, I want you to go to that test dummy over there and try to cut it in half." He said towards me.
I did what he told me, except I put the shortbow and arrows I had left back on the wall. Then I went over to the dummy, and stood there in a stance I thought was ok. I turned towards him, and he gave me a nod to continue. So I looked back towards the dummy and swung at it. What surprised me the most was the simple fact that I actually cut the dummy. I didn't just cut it. . . I actually cut it in half!
"Huh. . . Well I guess you have a little bit of strength then if you were able to cut it in half. Which explains the bow and arrow test. Now this next test we have to do isn't part of what you said you were going to be. It is a test that we are required to give out according to the king of this country. It is the magic test. All you have to do is hold onto this orb here, and it will read you to see if you have any magic in you." He told me.
"Uh. . . Alright." I said.
So he handed the orb over to me, and I took it. I held it in front of my ċhėst area for a little bit, but nothing happened.
"I don't think it is going to work." I told him.
"Just stand there a little bit longer." He said to me while looking directly at the ball.
So I just stood there. It felt like I had been standing there for awhile, when all of a sudden I felt this weird tingling sensation in my body that went towards my arms, then to my hands, and then finally into the orb. It was a deep red color.
"Holy shit. . ." Both Arialle and him both said at the same time.
"Uh. . . what??" I asked with a confused look on my face.
"You are not just a Ranger, you are a Battle Mage!! Yelled Phillip.
