Chapter 24 - 24: Onyx Pendragon!

I woke up in the morning of the next day. I decided to take the Gear out of my inventory that I had gotten a while ago. The Battle Ranger's Pendant, Battle Ranger's Cloak, and Ranger's Leather Armor.

"Nice! I'll put these on!"

I put them down real quick, then I put on my shirt, and boots that I left on the chair. After that, I put on the three items I had gotten out of my inventory.

Passive Skill -- Ranger's Perception -- This ability makes it to where you can see in the dark like it was during the day. It also allows you to hear anything within 20 yards of yourself.

"My god. . . My stats are overpowered for my level. . ."

"Arthrall are you awake?" Arialle said through the door.

"Yes, come in." I said to her.

She came in, once she was inside the room. She took a look at me, and her eyes got a little bit bigger.

"Wow, you look like an actual ranger finally!" She said.

"Hahaha. . . Thanks! I put on some of the gear that I had in my inventory." I said after I chuckled.

"Nice! So, what would you like to do today?" She then asked me.

"Um. . . I would like to go look at professions honestly." I said after thinking for a little bit.

"Alright, wake Orion up, and then head into the kitchen. I've got some food already." She said to me while walking out of the room.

"Alright!" I yelled to her.

'Orion, wake up!'

{{I don't want too. . . Fine. . .}}

Orion then stretched himself, and then hopped off the bed. I walked out of the room, and waited on Orion to follow me out before I shut the door. We walked to the kitchen, and before we got there all I could smell was food. It smelled delicious, but at the same time I heard barking. Then all of a sudden Tyson came out growling at Orion. Orion's face was a little shocked, then he moved his snout towards Tyson to smell him.

{{What is this?}}

'That would be Arialle's dog, its name is Tyson. Don't eat him.'

After Tyson bark for a little bit it stopped, and started sniffing Orion's snout. It then licked Orion, which made Orion flinch a little bit. It was actually quite cute.

"Arialle, what did you make! It smells delicious!" I exclaimed.

"Just something simple, eggs, toast, bacon, and some fresh fish for Orion." She mentioned to us while putting the food on the table.

"Well either way it smells delicious! Thank you for the food, how much did this cost you? I'll help pay for it." I asked her.

"It didn't cost too much, and if you are wanting to help with food. Then we can go around the market, and figure out what we want for the week." She told me.

"Alright that works. Let's go and look for a profession trainer first. Then we can go, and look for food." I told her.

"Alright. Well let's eat first then we can head out." She motioned towards the food on the table.

"Ok, but before we head out. I've got something to show you." I told her while filling my plate up.

"Hmm. . . Alright then." She commented while filling her own plate up.

After we filled out plates up, I grabbed the plate with fish and placed it on the floor. Orion was very happy with this, and he started devouring the fish instantly. Arialle then added food to Tyson's plate, and put it on the floor next to Orion. It had taken us all about a half an hour to eat everything.

"Do you need help with cleaning the dishes?" I asked her.

"Yeah I could use some help." She answered me.

After we cleaned the dishes, we put them up in the cupboards. Then we went outside to the side of the house for the surprise.

"Alright you ready?" I then asked her.

"Yes!" She exclaimed.

I then brought out an egg to show her.

"What is that?" She asked me while looking at the egg.

"It is a Panther Egg." I told her while putting the egg on the ground in front of us.

{{Panther Egg?}}

"I thought panthers were born live, not through an egg. . ." She commented.

"Normally yes, but this isn't a normal egg if you catch what I'm saying." I told her.

"Ohhhhh. . . Gotcha." She said after realizing what I meant.

{{Oh!! I'm going to have another friend battle alongside of me?}}

'Yes you will!'

We waited for a little bit until the egg started to shake. After shaking for a few minutes, I put my arm in front of Arialle to push her back further. It started to have big cracks showing up on it, and then smaller cracks appeared. After the smaller cracks appeared, a big explosion happened. After the dust cleared, there was an onyx colored baby panther laying on the ground. It started to look around, it saw Orion, then Arialle, and finally me.

'Hi there little guy. It is ok, I'm the one that hatched you. Can you understand me?'

{{Can.}} The panther said.

{{It can probably only say a few words for now. It is a baby after all}} Orion told me.

'Alright, I'm going to name you!'

It started to purr.

"Your name shall be Onyx Pendragon!"

[Congratulation Arthrall Pendragon. You have successfully obtained a panther as your second companion animal!]

{{Yay!}} Onyx exclaimed.

{{Hungry. . .}} He then mentioned to me.

"Hey Arialle, do you have any milk I could feed him? He can't eat meat yet." I turned around and asked her.

"Yeah I do, I even have a bottle. Don't ask why I have a bottle. I just do." She looked at me seriously while saying that to me.

"Hahaha. . ." I laughed at her when she said that.

'Orion go meet your new friend.'

{{Alright!}} He said.

{{Hi there, my name is Orion!}} He then said to Onyx.

{{Orion??}} Onyx then asked.

{{Yep that is my name! Good job on saying it!}}

{{Of course he would, I'm a dragon! He is a panther. . .}} Orion said rhetorically.

It didn't take Arialle too long to come back out with a bottle of milk. She then handed it to me that way I could feed Onyx.

'Onyx come here. I've got milk for you!'

Onyx then charged right at me, before he got to me though he ended up tripping, and somersaulting onto my knee.

"Hahaha. . ." Arialle and I started laughing once we saw that.

I picked Onyx up, and then put him on his back on my left arm that way I could feed him. It didn't take him too long to finish the bottle, and then he started dozing off. I decided I should take him with me since he is so small right now.

"I'm going to take him with me. He is too tiny to leave by himself right now. Do you have an extra backpack I could buy off you Arialle?" I then asked her.

"Not that you can buy, but you can have one of them. Why do you need it?" She then asked me.

"That way Orion can still sit on my shoulder, he is getting almost too big to do it now. Hahaha. . ." I told her then started laughing.

"Hahaha. . . Alright, let me go grab it." She said then started jogging towards the front of the house.

It only took her about 10 minutes then she headed back outside towards me. By the time she reached me Onyx was already asleep.

"Here you go!" She told me.

"Thanks, do you mind hold Onyx for a moment while I put the backpack on?" I then asked her.

"Yeah I don't mind!" She exclaimed, excited to hold little Onyx.

After I handed her the sleeping Onyx, I put on the backpack. Then I had Orion jump up and sit on my right shoulder and backpack.

"Did you put something in the backpack to hold his back end up?" I then asked her after noticing the backpack not drooping downwards from the weight of Orion.

"Yep, I put a box inside to hold his weight." She mentioned to me.

"Well thank you! Now go ahead, and hand Onyx back to me." I said to her.

She then pouted a little bit, but she still handed Onyx to me.

"Well let's us head towards the professions area!" I said. Then I started to follow her.
