Chapter 60 - 60: Our new gear!!

"Why do Orion and Onyx have to close their eyes too?" I asked Vic.

"Cause I don't want them telling you what I'm about to give you guys!" She told us.

". . . Fine. . . Everyone close your eyes. . . That goes for you two also. . ." I said while looking at Onyx and Orion.

{{I don't want to though. . .}} Onyx commented sadly.

{{Just do what Arthrall told us. We might be getting a surprise too!}} Orion told him.

{{Fine. . .}} Onyx said grumpily.

After he said that, Onyx and Orion both closed their eyes, I looked over towards Arialle, and noticed her eyes were already shut. So I decided to take it at that point to close mine. I started to hear some shuffling in front of us, I also heard some metal being placed on a table that was beside us.

"Alright, open your eyes guys!" Vic said with excitement.

I opened my eyes to a pretty weird site. Next to me Arialle had her eyes wide open with her mouth slightly ajar. Orion was currently smelling what looked like a ċhėst piece on the ground, while Onyx was on his hind legs with his paws on the table next to us. What was on the table were three items. A helm, shoulderguards, and a necklace. Onyx was currently smelling the necklace that was on the end of the table.

"Wow. . . These look amazing!" Arialle commented excitedly.

"Indeed they do. So what are they exactly?" I asked.

"Well, for starters. The helmet is for Arialle, the shoulderguards are for you, the ċhėst plate is for Orion, and the necklace is for Onyx. I know I said I made some stuff for Arialle, you, and Titus. It is just I couldn't stop myself from making anything for the other two. Although, I didn't make the necklace. That actually came from our Jeweler. He made the necklace for Onyx since that is all he can wear at the moment. It is actually the size of a collar that can be adjusted. The ċhėstplate on the ground is for Orion, I ended up borrowing Orion for the fitting. So he technically already knew about this." Vic told us.

"Wait. . . When did you measure Orion?" I asked her.

"Sorry, I did it while you were sleeping. I actually went to the inn to find out if you were awake or not yesterday, but you were still passed out. So I asked Arialle if I could borrow Orion for a moment. She ended up coming with, but she didn't know about the rest of the stuff." Vic commented to me.

"Oh, that is totally fine. I just didn't know about it." I told her.

After telling her that, I went to the table with Arialle, and started taking a closer look at the pieces of gear. The first one I took a look at was Orion's ċhėstpiece. It was a pretty nice looking piece of gear. It looked almost like a dog harness back from my old world. The difference was the fact that it was made of leather, had an extra thick piece of leather in the middle, and a metal plate attached to the very center of it. I decided to inspect the ċhėstpiece at this point.

"Oh wow, this piece is really well made. Thank you Vic, this will greatly help out Orion. I also need to tell Baldemar thank you." I exclaimed to her.

"Haha. . . No problem Arthrall. Here let me show you how to put it onto him." She told me while grabbing the ċhėst piece. She then pulls the straps out of two of the buckles on the armor piece. It actually had four buckles total, but she only pulled the straps out of two of them. The buckles were placed on sides of the front leg each. She took the right straps off the buckles, she then looked at Orion, and motioned for him to put his left leg into the left strap hole. Once he did that, she took and pulled the ċhėstpiece up. Once the ċhėstpiece was in place, she took the neck strap, and wrapped it around his neck. She buckled it together snuggly, then she went to the back buckle and pulled the strap through it. After she pulled the strap through, she buckled it together. She went back towards her workbench and grabbed some oil and a piece of cloth. She then put oil on the cloth and wiped around the leather straps on the armor piece. Once she was done, she pulled on the ċhėstpiece quite hard, enough to pull Orion downwards.

"Ok, he is done. Did you see how I put it together?" She asked me.

"Yeah I did, but I do have a question. What about the metal buckles? Is he going to be alright with them rubbing on him so much?" I asked her.

"Yes and no. He will be fine for a while, but at some point you will need to get some cloth and wrap it around the buckles." She mentioned it to me.

"Alright, I'll get some cloth from the Tailor once we are done with you." I told Vic.

"That was what I was going to tell you. Haha. . . Now, for Onyx. It is just a necklace that is the size of a collar. It is adjustable, so you can change its size once he gets bigger." She told me.

Once she told me that, I decided to take a look at the collar. It was a fine piece of jewelry, it was silver colored with a gem that looked like a Chocolate Opal back from my world. The silver were actually well crafted hoops that wrapped around each other. Once they got to the gem, the hoops ended up bigger, to the point that the last 3 were the size of a half dollar coin. It honestly looked quite beautiful. I walked up to the necklace, and picked up to take a closer look at the opal.

"That is called a Chocolate Opal. That is the part that gives the necklace its stats boost." Vic said to me.

"Nice! It looks quite beautiful." I told her. I decided to inspect it also.

"Hmm. . . He can't wear this yet." I said.

"Why not?" Vic asked me.

"He isn't at a high enough level yet, but he is close though." I told her.

"Oh. . . I forgot to inspect him earlier. I'm sorry about that!" Vic apologized to me.

"It's ok! I promise. He will level not too long after we leave here. He doesn't need a lot of experience in order to level luckily." I commented to her.

{Hey Onyx, you can't wear yours yet.}

{{I understand, you mentioned I'm close to leveling didn't you?}} Onyx asked.

{Yes I did, are you wanting to go level as soon as we leave here?}

{It is totally possible!}

Vic went over to Onyx, and patted his head. Onyx seemed to like it, because he started to purr.

"Please tell Ailwin thank you from Onyx and I." I asked Vic.

"Oh, don't worry about it! I will tell him once we are done here!" She told me.

The next item I looked at was the item Arialle was looking at. It was a crown of some sort.

"Hey Arialle, is that your item?" I asked her.

"Yes, I do believe it is. The shoulderguards are too big for me, and this is the only piece left." She commented towards me.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"It is called, Circlet of Providence. It has good Defense, Dexterity, and Intelligence." She commented to me.

"Oh nice, you mind if I see it?" I asked her.

"Sure!" She said while smiling at me.

She handed over the Circlet to me. It was rather straightforward. It looked like bone honestly, but it was made of leather. It had six spikes total on it. Two of the spikes went down, and around her cheekbones. While there was a tiny spike going over her forehead. There were three long spikes that went around to the back of her head, two of them went over her ears while the last one went from the middle to the back of her head. I inspected this piece of gear too.

"Wow, it is pretty good!" I told her.

"I know! I also like the way it looks." She commented to me while there was still a smile on her face.

"Well, here. Put it on!" I said.

"Haha. . . Alright." She said.

She took it from me, then she put the circlet onto her head. It fit perfectly. She looked pretty good with it on. It also made it to where her hair won't get into her face too easily now too. Now it is time to look at the shoulderguards. They were actually quite big, but small at the same time. From the way they look, they were a type of shoulderguards that wrapped completely around your shoulders and your neck. The shoulderguards were made out of a darker leather, with black metal plates on the pieces of leather. There were a total of nine black plates on it. Four of them per arm/shoulder, and one for the ċhėst/neck area. I also inspected these shoulder guards.

"Oh wow! These shoulderguards are pretty good!" I complimented.

"Haha. . . Yeah, Baldemar and I worked for a while making these. I believe they are pretty good if I say so myself haha. . ." Vic laughed while talking about them.

"Thank you Vic!" I told her.

"No problem, but here. Let me take your ċhėst piece too. I'm going to add 4 buckles to it that way your shoulderguards can also be put on at the same time." She told me, while taking the shoulderguards from me. I took my ċhėst piece off after she put the shoulderguards onto her workbench. She took the ċhėst piece, and went towards her workbench. Once there she took for buckle ends, and started poking holes into the ċhėst piece that way the buckles connected to it. It took her maybe five minutes to get the buckles attached to the ċhėst plate. After she did that, she took and put the shoulderguards on to the ċhėst piece, and clipped on the buckles that were already attached to the shoulder guards.

"Here you go, it will be a little getting used to it, but I know you can do it!" She commented towards me.

I grabbed the ċhėst piece, and pulled it over my head with my arms going through it first. Once the shoulderguards reached my head, I had to put a little bit of pressure on it to get it to go over my head. After that I buckled the ċhėst piece side together to have it completely hooked to me.

"Wow. . . You look pretty sharp now. . ." Arialle commented.

"Oh? I do now?" I asked.

"Yes you do!" She told me excitedly.

"Alright, so now let's head over to where Baldemar is to turn in your quest. Also, you guys gave me so many beasts to harvest the leather skin that I actually almost have too many. That is the reason why I made so much gear for you all. I also made something for Titus, but he has yet to come by the shop. You guys will be making quite a bit of money today!" She explained to us.

We started to follow her out of her shop, then we went directly to Baldemar's workshop. It was quite busy today also, but the people moved right out of our way while smiling at us.

"Baldemar, come out here!" Vic yelled at him.
