We waited patiently until Dj woke up finally.
"Ugh. . ."
"You're alright bud. Just open your eyes for now, don't try getting up." Philip told him.
"How long was I out?" Dj asked.
"Hmm. . . At least two hours." I told him.
"Yeah, but you did become an actual Paladin! We saw your eyes once you came out of your prayer." Arialle commented.
"My eyes?" Dj asked while looking confused.
"Yeah, your eyes ended up changing to that of either a snake or a dragon, and considering you were praying to a Dragon God, I would say Dragon Eyes." Philip answered.
"I guess that is a good thing then. . ." Dj mentioned.
"Grrr. . . . ."
"Now I'm hungry. . . Haha. . ." Dj said while laughing.
"Well, get up, and we can go and get a small bite to eat real quick. We need to get you registered as an Adventurer in the Guild." I commented.
"Alright. . . Alright. . ." Dj said.
After getting Dj up and moving around, we went downstairs to the main floor. Once there, we started walking towards the front door, but Dj suddenly stopped.
"You alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, just I need to return this weapon and shield back to the training area." Dj commented.
"Don't worry about it! They're yours!" A voice said from behind Dj.
The moment he said that, Dj turned around quickly, and grabbed his mace and shield.
"Woah there! It's just me bud. . ." Jacob then commented hastily.
"Oh sorry. . . I guess I'm just a little jumpy. . ." Dj mentioned quietly.
"Don't apologize! It is a good thing you're like that. Especially out in the woods. . . It can get pretty dangerous out there. Ask your buddy, he can vouch for that." Jacob explained to Dj.
"He is right, it is a good thing you're like that. Arialle and I had to deal with wolves and other creatures out in the woods." I told him.
Dj just nodded his head while putting his gear back up.
"Anyways, I wanted to come and make sure you were alright, but seeing as how you're about to leave, I would say you're fine. So, on that note. Come back to me once you hit level ten. I need to train you for the next step on your path. Other than that, good luck out there!" Jacob then told Dj.
"Will do! Goodbye!" Dj answered while walking back towards the front door.
After Dj got done saying his goodbye, we walked out of the church, and started walking towards the merchant area.
"You guys just want a quick sandwich before we go to the Adventurer's Guild?" Philip asked.
"Sure." All three of us said.
"I guess we should stop by the guy with the meat too. Gotta feed your companions." Philip then commented.
"Yeah. . . They are always hungry. . ." I commented sadly.
{{Hey! I heard that!}} Onyx yelled.
{{Eh. . . It is true though. . .}} Orion mentioned with his head down.
"Hey don't yell! That hurt. . ." I said while looking at Onyx.
"What did he say?" Arialle then asked.
"Oh, he said 'Hey! I heard that!', while yelling it in my head." I commented.
"Ouch. . . That sucks. . ." Philip told me.
"It definitely can. . ." I said with my head down low.
We continued walking for about another 15 minutes, until we reached a stall selling some sandwiches. Philip ended up buying us all a sandwich, including himself. We then walked while eating towards the meat vendor we saw the day before we left. He also bought Orion and Onyx a slab of meat each. We walked a little bit further away so that way people could pass and get their stuff from the market.Thereafter, we started eating our food completely. Of course I was the first one done.
"How can you eat so quickly. . ." Philip asked.
"I don't know, I've always been able to. . ." Was all I said.
"Well, since Orion and Onyx are about done. We can continue towards the Adventurer's Guild while we finish out sandwiches." Philip told us.
We didn't have to wait long before Orion and Onyx were done eating their food, so we started walking towards the Guild. Once there Philip took us directly towards Faylin.
"Hey Faylin, you ready to get Dj all set up?" He asked her.
"Yes I am. Are you ready to become an Adventurer Dj?" She then asked.
"YES!" Dj exclaimed.
"Haha. . . I like your enthusiasm. Ok, so your full name please." She said while grabbing a piece of paper.
"Dj Wahlle." Dj answered.
"Alright, what class were you going for exactly?" Faylin then asked him.
"Protection Paladin." He answered.
"Alright, well we don't need to do a test since you just became a Paladin with Philip being present. So give me just a moment, and I'll get your. . . Wait. . . What do you want, a ring, or a necklace?" She then asked unexpectedly.
"A ring please. I'm not one for necklaces sadly." Dj then commented.
"Alright, just give me a few moments here." Faylin then said.
She then walked away from us towards the back of the room, There were a few cabinets sitting along the back wall, and once there she opened one up to grab something. She pulled out what looked like a ring. Once she had it, she put the paper to the ring, and a bright glow emanated from the ring. The ring then went back to its original color, and she put the paper into the cabinet next to the one she just opened. She started walking back towards us.
"Alright Dj, here is your ring. I would like you to go over towards that wall to your left, and pick out a quest that you would like to do. You don't have to grab it right now, but it needs to be done within 24 hours after the ring is created." She told him.
"Alright, I will do it later today. I think Arthrall and Arialle need to go somewhere first." He told her.
"He's right, we need to go to Maryra's shop to give her the beasts to skin." Arialle commented.
"Alright, then come back later, and I'll get you your quest set up!" Faylin said.
"Ok!" Dj mentioned.
"Alright Philip, we are going to head on out!" I told him.
"Yeah, later Phil. . . Wait! We forgot to get our money from you!" Arialle then exclaimed.
"Oh shoot, we did!" I commented.
"Haha. . . I had actually forgotten to give it to you guys. Here, 550 Silver Coins each like promised. Just make sure to give the beasts to Maryra!" He told us after grabbing two big pouches out of his ring.
"We will! Thank you again!" I told him.
"Yes, thank you Philip!" Arialle commented.
"Later Philip!" Dj mentioned.
After that, we left the Adventurer's Guild, and started walking towards Maryra's shop. We walked for about ten minutes due to it being Dj's first time here. Once there, we actually saw her on the side of the building talking to someone.
"Hey Maryra! We are here to deliver the beasts to you." I said while walking towards her.
"Ok, just give me a minute here!" She told us, then went back to talking to the person beside her.
She only talked to them for about another two minutes, then turned toward us.
"So, what can I do for you guys?" She then asked us.
"Well, where do you want to put the beasts that you bought? We are ready to give you the leather from them, but we would like to have the meat." I told her.
"Alright, but question. Have you guys skinned any beast since you became Apprentice Skinners?" She then asked us.
"I haven't, but Arthrall has skinned a few rabbits." Arialle told her.
"Hmm, alright. Well I have a feeling that you haven't gotten your skill up yet due to how few rabbits you've skinned. So, I'm going to have you guys skin all of your beasts yourself today. That is the only way to increase your Apprentice Skinner to the next rank. Follow me." She told us.
We followed her back towards the front of her shop, and entered inside of it. Once inside we walked to the back room where we first learned how to skin.
"Alright, since you have so many beasts. It would best to just do them one each. Dj do you want to learn how to skin?" She then asked.
"No, I believe I want to learn Mining and Blacksmithing." He commented.
"Alright, then I want you to hand them the beast that they will be skinning, and you two will be using my tools to skin them quickly. Go ahead and empty your rings out over here." She told us.
"Uh. . . I don't think you have enough room. . ." I told her.
"Hmm. . . How about we just go outside, and skin them out there?" Arialle commented.
"That would work. . . Alright, let's go back outside then. Grab the tools first." She then instructed us.
We grabbed all the tools we were going to need. We grabbed knives, aprons, and buckets for the blood. After grabbing all of that, we walked back outside. We walked to the side of the shop.
"Alright, empty your rings out right here." She then told us.
I took and started emptying my ring out. There were a lot of wolves in my ring, so it took me about five minutes to get all of them out. The very last wolf that I dropped was the King of Wolves. It was really big. Its size equaled the size of about eight wolves. After I got done emptying mine, Arialle then proceeded to empty hers. It took her about five minutes to empty hers also.
"Ok, so I think the first one we should skin is the little wolves, because if you tried skinning the King of Wolves first, you might fail and chop it up." Maryra told us.
"Alright, Dj do you want to start grabbing the wolves for us?" I asked him.
"Sure." He commented.
While he was grabbing a wolf each for the two of us, I went ahead and put my apron on. I handed Arialle an apron, a knife, and one of the buckets.
"I will be right back. I'm going to go inside and grab some hooks to make it easier to drain the wolves blood." Maryra said.
We waited for her to head inside, and to come back out with two hooks and stands. She placed one in front of Arialle, and then one in front of me. I took and lifted the wolf Dj put in front of me, and hooked it up to the stand. I then proceeded to cut its throat with the knife while the bucket was right below it. I waited for it to drain the blood for about five minutes before it was safe for me to start skinning it. After that, I started to skin the wolf.
======================================================================
(Five Hours Later)
"Wow. . . That took a while. . ." I commented.
"Indeed it did. . ." Arialle commented.
"Why did you guys have to kill so many freaking wolves. . ." Dj complained.
"Blame Maryra for that. . . Haha. . . She tasked us with killing 10 sets of wolves. Each set has roughly 5 to 6 different wolves in them." I told him.
"Well, to be honest I wasn't expecting you guys to complete this quest so quickly. I figured you guys would have taken at least a month to finish it. Not a week. . ." Maryra mentioned to us.
"Alright, we got all the meat, and you got all of your leather correct?" I asked her.
"Indeed I did. So you guys are free to go, just make sure to put my tools back into the skinning room please." Maryra asked us.
"Sure thing." I told her.
We took her tools back inside of her shop, and placed them where we had gotten them from before. After that, we waved goodbye to her, and started walking back towards the market area.
"Let's go ahead and go back to your house. We have meat, vegetables, and spices already. So we can always make some food there." I told her.
"Alright, I miss my little pup anyways. Dj, you're more than welcome to stay over." Arialle told him.
"Alright, thank you very much." Dj answered.
