Chapter 87 - 87: Barely escaping. . .

"We need to find some water!" I told them while still running.

"Why?" Arialle asked.

"If I remember correctly, there was a river further east of us, we should be able to lose them through it." Dj commented.

"Alright!" I told him.

We turned towards the east, and started for the river Dj happened to see earlier. We ended up hearing a loud roar from behind us, but it sounded like it came from the valley.

"Shit, hurry up!" I called to them.

We ran for about another ten minutes, before Dj dived into the water. Next ones were Onyx and Tyson. Arialle stood at the water just looking at it, but I didn't bother about that and grabbed her arm before jumping in myself.

{{Arthrall, stay under for a little bit. Blue and I are getting them to follow us! There are a lot of them that followed you guys until you jumped into the river!}} Onyx told me.

{Hurry up, I don't think Arialle can last very long.}

[Arthrall: Guys stay under, we need to make sure the lionesses follow Blue and Onyx!]

[Dj: You have to help me out then, this armor is freaking heavy!]

[Arialle: I can't hold my breath that long!]

{Onyx,, hold Tyson down for a moment alright!}

{{Go now guys!}} Orion yelled at us.

[Arthrall: Surface now!]

While commenting, I started to swim towards Dj to help him back to the surface. Once I got to him, he was bȧrėly able to stay where he was at due to his persistent swimming. I grabbed one side of him, when I felt someone go towards the other side. I looked over and noticed Arialle trying to swim back up towards the surface while holding onto Dj. I started swimming up towards the surface, when we suddenly broke through the top.

"GASP!" All three of us were currently gasping for air the moment we came out. We started swimming towards the opposite side that way we could get out of the river. Once out, we dragged Dj to his feet, and I started looking for Tyson and Onyx. Onyx currently had Tyson in his jaws, while Tyson was coughing up water.

{Is he alright?}

{{Yeah, just had water get into his lungs right before we broke through the surface. He will be alright.}} Onyx commented.

"Let's get away from the edge that way Orion and Blue can jump into the water." I told them.

"Why did we have to jump into the river?" Arialle asked me again.

"When you are running away from a predator, and you want them to lose your trail. Then your best bet is to go for a swim. Normally the predator's lose your scent after you jump into the water." I answered her while waking further east.

"I didn't know that honestly. Then again, I've never dealt with a mob of beasts chasing after me either." Arialle commented.

"You alright Dj?" I asked him after noticing he was walking slower than us.

"Yeah, just this armor is freaking heavy when wet. . ." He answered me.

"Alright. We can stop after a few more moments." I told them.

{{Orion, take Blue and jump into the water. Make sure to hold onto her due to her smaller size. Stay under long enough to lose the lionesses. Blue, try to hold your breath as long as you can alright! Don't want to lose you!}}

{{Already on it!}} Orion commented.

{{Can't hold for much longer!}} Blue exclaimed.

{{Hold for another five seconds!}} Orion told her.

I stopped and Looked back over towards the direction the river was. After a few more moments, I saw something darker then the night sky fly over towards us. I was able to tell it was Orion the moment he started flying back down towards us. Once he landed, he let go of Blue, but she couldn't fly until she got her feathers dry.

"Did you lose them Orion?" Dj asked the moment Orion landed.

"He said yes. Since we are officially free from being chased, I'll start the fire." I commented.

I went around looking for sticks, and luckily we ended up around trees, so it didn't take me too long to find some. After finding them, I took and started a fire not long after words.

"Blue, come over and sit next to the fire." I told her.

She hopped on over near me, and sat down next to the fire, but far enough away to not catch fire.

"Dj, come over here. I'll help you take off your ċhėst piece since it is really heavy right now. Arialle, warm up next to the fire." I told them.

Dj came next to me, and I helped him take his ċhėst piece off, and after doing that, he went and took off his other pieces of armor. Arialle came over with Tyson and plopped on down next to the fire.

"So. . . I take it that it was our fault then. . ." Arialle then commented.

"Yes, it was both of your guys' fault on why we were chased. . ." I answered with a slight bit of anger in my voice.

"I'm sorry bud. . ." Dj said with a slight sad look on his face.

"Dj, you gotta remember. We can't die over here! I want to be able to go back to our world at some point, but if we die here. Then we are dead. No returning whatsoever. . ." I looked at him with anger rising in my voice.

"I'm sorry. . ." was all he commented.

"W-We need a healer for our group. . . They can actually resurrect you." Arialle finally commented.

"W-wait. . . What?" I then asked with a surprise look on my face.

[She's right you know.]

{She is?}

[Yep, but there won't be any clerics around until we reach a bigger city.]

{Damn. . . Alright. . . }

"Yep, my parents told me about them once when I was younger, but I haven't met any yet." Arialle commented.

"Zoe just told me about them, and I know where to find them. They are currently in a bigger city right now." I told her.

"Well, I guess that is a good thing then. I mean it doesn't exactly help us right now, but it will later on." Dj mentioned.

"Indeed it does. . ." I answered.
