Chapter 24 - Heartbreak

At the Wilsons.

As one of Los Angeles’ Seven Great Clans and one of the seven most powerful families in the city, the Wilsons’ residence was also a grand manor that occupied a large expanse of land.

In the study, Neal Wilson, the current head of the Wilsons, was having a drink by himself.

In the hospital.

After Ruby woke up and learned from the nurses that Nelly was currently undergoing an operation, she immediately ran to the operating room!

However, the doors to the operating room were closed!

“Nelly! Nelly!”

Ruby sneered and said, “Are you that kind? You probably want me dead instead!”

Michael let out a resigned chuckle and said sincerely, “Ruby, do you still not understand me even now? I-I’ve always had feelings for you all these years!”

Ruby was taken aback for a moment. Then, she snapped, “What nonsense!”

Michael sighed and said solemnly, “I’ll admit that I’ve certainly made a lot of mistakes during the last few years, but that’s because I was jealous! I was jealous of Heller! It was because I was jealous that I was so angry!

“But the truth is that I wasn’t able to forget you all these years!”

“Otherwise, why would I spend so much time and effort—and even fight desperately with Sebastian—to rescue your daughter?”
