Lady Melissa was making baby steps every time she had a lesson with Duchess Ella, she could vividly remember the first day she met Duchess Ella, and they had a duel.
Lady Melissa didn't even manage to land a single hit on Duchess Ella, instead only getting beaten over and over again.
The second time she duelled Duchess Ella, she was close to almost hitting her, yet failed.
After her third time duelling Duchess Ella, Lady Melissa could finally land a hit on her. The more times Lady Melissa duelled Duchess Ella, she grew more attentive to her surroundings and had even landed more hits and punches to Duchess Ella.
Lady Melissa, however, was snapped out of her thoughts as Duchess Ella had started to approach her own corner.
As soon as Duchess Ella entered the line, Lady Melissa immediately chanted the spell, making the space inside the line soundproof to the outside.
Duchess Ella quickly noticed Lady Melissa had cast a spell, feeling it.
"Did you cast a spell or something?"
Duchess Ella asked, holding up her sword.
"Yeah."
Lady Melissa responded before suddenly charging towards Duchess Ella, moving quickly to try and hit her.
"Why'd you cast a spell?"
Duchess Ella asked calmly while using her sword to block Lady Melissa's attacks.
"I wanted to discuss something with you."
Lady Melissa said, her tone sounding monotone.
"What is it?"
The Duchess curiously asked while using her sword to hit Lady Melissa, though Lady Melissa quickly dodged the Duchess' hits.
"Well, I need your help with something."
Lady Melissa said before trailing off to explain, explaining the benefits that Duchess Ella would get from helping her.
After some explaining, Duchess Ella had a more vivid idea of the situation, nodding her head while dodging Lady Melissa's punches and kicks.
"I'll see what I can do, but no promises."
Duchess Ella said before immediately charging towards Lady Melissa, acting serious and using her sword to hit Lady Melissa.
Luckily, Lady Melissa dodged Duchess Ella's sword, but only her body did. Unfortunately, her long hair ended up getting cut by the sword, as a few hundred strands of her hair fell to the ground.
Lady Melissa, though grateful that she had managed to dodge Duchess Ella's sword as if she didn't….maybe it would be her ear on the ground instead of her hair.
Lady Melissa quickly took her sword, attempting to hit Duchess Ella multiple times in many different locations in her body. Yet, each time failed as Duchess Ella had used her sword to block each one of Lady Melissa's sword.
"Is that all you got?"
Duchess Ella said, trying to rile up Lady Melissa; it was a tactic that she had often used when teaching her students; that was why Lady Melissa had used the same exact tactic with the knight she had a duel with earlier.
Lady Melissa knew more than better to fall for Duchess Ella's tricks; Duchess Ella had often used it on her, especially during duels, though she ended up not falling for it most of the time, as she realised what Duchess Ella was doing.
Not replying to Duchess Ella, Lady Melissa simply kept attempting to land hits to Duchess Ella, not giving the Duchess any time to think, unlike what she had done earlier.
Lady Melissa kept using her sword against Duchess Ella, trying to land hits, and for a split second, Duchess Ella was off guard, thinking of what to do.
Lady Melissa immediately noticed, quickly using her feet to knock down Duchess Ella to the ground, and surprisingly it succeeded.
Duchess Ella, confused about what was happening, didn't have the opportunity to react or move. Instead, Lady Melissa used her sword, using its tip to point to Duchess Ella's neck, making sure not to injure her teacher too much.
"Bravo, Melissa! It's great to see that you've learned."
Duchess Ella said, pushing the tip of Lady Melissa's sword away from her neck, the sword getting a little deeper into Duchess Ella's fingers, bleeding.
Lady Melissa drew back her sword and dropped it down to the ground before using her left hand to help Duchess Ella stand up.
"Since you performed well in this duel, I've decided that I'll help you on your little request."
Duchess Ella said, using her hands to brush off the dirt on her dress.
"Thank you, Duchess."
Lady Melissa said, bowing her head down a little to show Duchess Ella that she was grateful for Duchess Ella deciding to give Lady Melissa a lending hand.
"No problem, Melissa."
Duchess Ella said, returning to the bench that she had previously sat on just now when watching the knight and Lady Melissa's duel.
Secretly, Duchess Ella was pleased with Lady Melissa, it had usually taken months for people to even land a single hit on her, yet for Lady Melissa, it had only been a few weeks.
"That's all for today's lesson other than Melissa."
Duchess Ella said to Lady Melissa before glancing at her watch, only noticing that her lesson was supposed to be done ten minutes ago.
"It's ten minutes past when our lesson should've ended."
Duchess Ella bluntly said, and Lady Melissa immediately choked on the water she was drinking; she didn't know that much time had gone!
"Thank you for today's lesson, Duchess Ella; unfortunately, I must go now as I have another lesson to attend to; see you next week."
Lady Melissa said, quickly bowing her head down before rushing inside the Shayla estate to attend her next lesson.
Duchess Ella was about to say something, yet she could not do so as Lady Melissa had already disappeared.
'Oh well.'
Duchess Ella thought before heading her way outside the gates of the Shayla estate to go back into her own estate.
Lady Melissa rushed to the flight of stairs, breaking her previous records of running fast, and in a few minutes, she had arrived in her room, where her teacher was patiently waiting for her while sipping some tea.
