Without Lady Melissa realizing, teardrops had slowly dropped down from her eyes to her cheeks, and eventually to her lips, the salty taste of them had made Lady Melissa realize she was crying.

She wasn't that close anymore with him, but she had considered him a friend of hers, a friend that she really liked and regretted not spending time more with.

A friend who had been there for her from the very start, trying to get her to stop liking the Crown Prince.

Lady Melissa, in a fit of anger, rage and sadness took Duke Mason's gun that he had been secretly holding to the entire time.

Lady Melissa loaded the gun, quickly pulled the trigger, and before she could phantom and what had just happened it was all too late.

She had killed him.

She had murdered a man in front of everybody and the worst part? She didn't regret a single bit of it.

Maybe it was because of her emotions taking control of her, or maybe it was because she had never done such a thing, but she didn't regret a single bit seeing the man's face who had been smiling the entire time, turn into despair and hopelessness.

That was the feeling Lady Melissa had felt for a split second.

Lady Melissa looked up from the gun, seeing the man's body, on the verge of death, desperately gasping for air.

It was only then Lady Melissa what she had done, in front of everybody.

She looked at the reinforcements, their mouths agape, never expecting her to do something like this.

Lady Melissa turned her head backwards, Duke Mason seemingly quiet, as if he did not know what to say.

Lady Melissa once again stared at the gun in her hands, then averted her gaze into the man's body, which was dead now.

She looked at the reinforcements once more, before looking at Duke Mason again, sending him a signal before disappearing.

'I wish I could change back time. Please. Please'

Lady Melissa thought, desperately begging by some miracle she could go back to five minutes before this had all happened, where Baron Kevin was still alive and breathing, and where she hadn't murdered the man.

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly the time didn't change at all, instead it seemed as if it was going slower.

Lady Melissa put on her cloak, as she exited the Whitechapel district.

If only she had known it would end like this she would've never came here in the first place.

Just as Lady Melissa was about to think of something else, she was snapped from her thoughts.

"Lady Melissa? Sorry I just talked to you now, it had completely slipped from my mind to talk to you about today's lesson earlier."

Victoria said, calling out to Lady Melissa.

"Yes Victoria? Oh that's completely alright, just make sure to remember next time."

Lady Melissa quickly replied, her voice shaky, as she tried her best to make it sound like she hadn't been crying.

"I'm done with today's lesson, we didn't learn much except for the continuation of past chapters."

Victoria said, explaining to Lady Melissa what she had learnt today.

"Oh alright then, thanks for telling me about it Victoria."

"Sure no problem Lady Melissa."

Victoria replied before she went silent.

After a few seconds of the conversation, Lady Melisssa bursted into a fit of tears, just crying.

She had been attacked and almost murdered by a man, and she had also killed the man in question, and the man in question killed her childhood friend.

Needless to say, it was a very shitty day for her.

Lady Melissa sat down on the road curb, crying as hard as she could, and letting out all the emotions she had been trying her best to put inside just now.

Many walked past her, giving her stares of confusion, but Lady Melissa didn't care, she didn't care if she would get called crazy or if people would give her weird looks.

All she wanted to do was mourn now, mourn the death of her childhood friend who had been there with her from the very start.

Lady Melissa cried and cried till she simply couldn't anymore, her eyes looking red and her nose filled with snot.

Her cloak was tear stained as well, though it wasn't as obvious since it was a black coat after all.

Lady Melissa stood up, brushing off her cloak and feeling much better after crying her lungs out.

She decided that she had nothing else to do or nowhere to go, except for home.

Though she didn't want to go there right now, she didn't have much of a choice, she didn't want to face Duke Mason, that could wait till tomorrow.

Neither did she want to go to Baron Kevin's house, it wouldn't be much use to her anyways without him...

Another tear had suddenly dropped from her eyes, just when she had thought she had been crying enough.

Lady Melissa however, quickly wiped the tear before starting her journey of going back to her house.

Lady Melissa decided to walk there, she didn't feel like taking a carriage, she simply wanted to have some time alone by herself.

Lady Melissa was still shaken up from the incident earlier, but who could blame her?

It wasn't everyday your childhood friend gets murdered in front of you, nonetheless one who was trying to help you from getting murdered but instead gets murdered.

Lady Melissa sighed, today was really not her day.....

As she walked and walked and walked, all kinds of memories went through her head, such as the first time she had met Baron Kevin, the first gift he had given her (which was a handmade boat he had made for her as a birthday present), and the argument that they had in her previous life.

The argument that broke their relationship apart. As the memories were flashing through Lady Melissa's brain, she was suddenly reminded of the fact that he was dead, and that she had simply watched him die, not even doing anything.

The very least she could've done was at least try and protect him, yet she didn't even do that.

'I'm pathetic aren't I?'

Lady Melissa thought, feeling that she was pathetic and useless after everything that had happened.
