Chapter 105 - 105

Well not like the T could stand for anything else.

Lady Melissa walked and walked, before stumbling across a maid.

"Could you please tell me where Duke Mason is currently in right now?"

Lady Melissa asked the maid, who had been walking and didn't see Lady Melissa.

"Oh, Duke Mason? Are you perhaps his guest? It's that way though."

The maid said, pointing to the left.

"Walk inside that building and then turn right, and then after that turn left, and then turn right one last time."

The maid said, talking slowly as she didn't want to get Lady Melissa confused with the directions to Duke Mason.

"Yes, I am his guest. Thank you for the directions."

Lady Melissa said, before turning her back on the maid and following the directions the maid had previously told her.

"Okay so walk to that building, then go right and then left and lastly right one last time."

Lady Melissa muttered under her breath, repeating the maid's instructions from earlier.

Soon after, Lady Melissa entered the building, not seeing a soul in sight as she then proceeded to turn right, entering another corridor.

Lady Melissa found another corridor, turning left, as she finally found the last one, before turning right.

Lady Melissa didn't expect to be seeing a door, she had expected to see Duke Mason talking to people or something, not a door.

Lady Melissa however quickly knocked on the door, not wanting to waste any time.

She knocked three times, and waited for someone to reply to her.

"Hello?"

Duke Mason asked, confused who had been knocking on the door.

"May I come in?"

Lady Melissa asked.

"Go ahead Jason. Why are you being so polite though, did something happen to you?"

Duke Mason asked, concerned in his voice as he assumed that it was Jason who had knocked on the door.

Lady Melissa said nothing, instead only opening the door slowly to reveal herself.

"That makes sense now."

Was the first thing Duke Mason had said once he saw her.

"No wonder your voice didn't sound like him, though I must say you look stunning."

Duke Mason said, complimenting Lady Melissa immediately.

"Thanks, though if you don't mind me asking, who is Jason?"

Lady Melissa asked, curiously.

"Jason is my secretary, he's the one who answered the phone earlier if you remember."

Duke Mason said, talking about the phone call Lady Melissa had with him.

"Ohhh him."

Lady Melissa said, finally recognizing who Jason was.

"Now, let's discuss yesterday's incident, okay? We can sit on the couch or wherever you want."

Duke Mason comfortingly said, putting an arm on Lady Melissa's shoulder in hopes of making her feel more relaxed and at ease.

"Can we sit on the couch then?"

Lady Melissa asked, pointing to the couch as she looked at Duke Mason.

"Sure, be my guest."

Duke Mason said.

Lady Melissa quickly went to the couch, as she sank into the couch, enjoying the couch.

"Alright now, before we start, I want to ask you something. Are you okay with this? If you're not we don't have to talk about this, I want to make sure that you're comfortable with the topic, and if you're not that's completely fine."

Duke Mason said, as he looked at Lady Melissa, giving her a comforting smile.

"Thanks for that Duke Mason but don't worry about me, I'm fine."

Lady Melissa said, giving Duke Mason a smile as well.

"Alright then, would you like to tell me what happened yesterday?"

Duke Mason asked, curious to what had happened yesterday, he knew what happened but he didn't know the full story and why Lady Melissa was even there in the first place.

"Well, uh yesterday I was there to confront the man who i murdered, he is known as Jack The Ripper and has killed many women in the whitechapel district."

"Yes, I heard of that, though my concern is why he had attacked you, what were you even doing there?"

Duke Mason asked, he knew about the infamous serial killer Jack The Ripper after all, he didn't live under a rock.

"I was actually waiting for my friend, Baron Kevin, the one who died yesterday."

Lady Melissa said, her tone filled with sadness.

"My deepest condolences on your loss yesterday, I am sure your friend Baron Kevin, wherever he is, is now in a better place."

Duke Mason said, trying to comfort Lady Melissa as she breathed a sigh out, before looking at Duke Mason.

"Thank you, it was late and I was waiting for Baron Kevin because we had decided to go outside to the whitechapel district to reminisce in the memories that we had together in the past."

Lady Melissa said, making up a lie on the spot, she didn't want Duke Mason to know the real reason.

She trusted him, but it was only to a certain extent she knew she could trust him, she would purposely leave some parts of the story out or lie about them, while telling the truth about some others.

So she wasn't completely lying, only partly lying about the story.

"I assume the two of you are childhood friends then? Since you said to reminisce about the memories that we had together in the past."

Duke Mason asked, quickly jumping to assumptions as that was the only logical thing his brain could think of.

"Yes, we have been friends ever since we were around 4 or 5 years old if I am correct."

Lady Melissa said.

"Alright then, moving on to the next question, how are you coping with everything that had just happened?"

Duke Mason asked, curious to know how Lady Melissa had been coping with everything that had happened to her.

"It's simple, I just bottle up my emotions, I've had my fair share of crying yesterday, and I just bottle up the rest of the emotions I guess if that makes sense."

Lady Melissa said, honestly replying to Duke Mason's question.
