"Now, can the three of us spend some time together? It's your anniversary and I want you to relax as much as you can. Both of you deserve it after how much you've been working these past few days."

Lady Melissa said, putting on her puppy-dog eyes, and hoping that her parents would say yes to her request.

"Well...."

The Duchess said, as she looked at the Duke, who was nodding his head, before she replied.

"The both of us would love to spend today with you Melissa, I'll just cancel our plans for the day first."

The Duchess said, as she gave Lady Melissa a peck on the forehead, going upstairs to cancel all the plans she had for the day.

"Melissa, can I see the cake one last time? I want to marvel at its beauty."

The Duke joked, though he did actually want to see the cake one last time.

Lady Melissa happily nodded her head, as she showed him the cake in which he gave her another smile.

"Did you make this cake Melissa?"

The Duke asked, wondering if his daughter had made the cake.

"How'd ya know?"

Lady Melissa replied, wondering how her father had known that it was her who had made the cake.

"Well, if it was the chef who made the cake then the handwriting of 'Happy Anniversary mom and dad!' and the '-Melissa' wouldn't look so weird."

The Duke said, before correcting himself.

"It's a good kind of weird though- you're a good kind of weird, just like your old mom and dad."

The Duke said, as he was happy and proud of his daughter for everything she had done, and for how much effort she had put into their wedding anniversary.

"Aww, thanks Dad."

Lady Melissa said, as she gave a smile back to her father.

The Duke was extremely proud of his daughter, whatever could he do without her? On a serious note though he was extremely thankful for everything his daughter had done for him.

Even when he and his wife had forgotten about their wedding anniversary because they were too busy with work, Lady Melissa remembered.

And this time, Lady Melissa had put in her efforts to try and get them something, and to spend the day with them.

"I'm back!"

The Duchess said, as she walked down the stairs, smiling to both the Duke and Lady Melissa.

"You cancelled everything that we've planned out today?"

The Duke asked, wanting to confirm that the Duchess had cancelled everything that they were supposed to do today.

"Yep, I'll discuss the details with you later, but for now let's relax and spend time with our sweet daughter."

The Duchess said, as she walked towards them.

"Since I know the both of you are hungry, and that you haven't eaten breakfast yet, or at least I assume you're hungry, let's eat breakfast!"

Lady Melissa said, suddenly breaking the few seconds of silence that was in the air, and suggesting that they all eat breakfast together.

"Alright, wonder what you prepared for us for breakfast."

The Duchess said aloud, wondering what her daughter had prepared for her, and her husband for breakfast.

"Oh this one isn't anything special compared to the others, but I still hope you enjoy breakfast, and then we can do other activities."

Lady Melissa said, as the three of them made their way into the dining room, the dishes that Lady Melissa had already asked the chef to order were on the table, still warm, Lady Melissa hoped.

"No way, is that my favourite food?"

The Duchess asked, although it wasn't much, it still meant something to the Duchess that Lady Melissa knew her favourite food, and had prepared it for her.

"Yep! And I've prepared Dad's favourite food as well."

Lady Melissa cheerfully replied to her mother, as the Duke was having an intense staring contest with his dish.

"Thanks Melissa, but where is your food?"

The Duke asked, curious where Lady Melissa's food had been since there was no other dish in sight.

"Oh, you don't need to worry about me dad, I've eaten earlier, now the both of you, go eat up. I know these are your favourite foods."

Lady Melissa said, as she told her parents not to worry about her, and instead for them to eat their breakfast.

Lady Melissa did eat something, a small piece of salad, she wasn't lying. It was just that Lady Melissa wasn't hungry and all.

Lady Melissa had made sure to eat that small piece of salad when Justin wasn't there, since she knew how he would react seeing her only eat such a small thing, especially for breakfast.

Justin would sometimes leave Lady Melissa's side, he had to pee, and as good as he was at holding it in, he couldn't hold his pee in for twenty four hours.

So, during those rare occasions that Justin does go and leave Lady Melissa's side to go and use the washroom, Lady Melissa would make the most she could of it.

Although Lady Melissa hadn't acted differently with Justin guarding her and observing her every move, she felt as if she was being watched.

Though she was being watched after all that was Justin's whole job, but she felt as if she was being limited to only doing things that were 'allowed'.

So, because of that feeling she had whenever Justin was guarding her, which was practically the whole day, she would make use of whatever few minutes she had before Justin would reappear again.

And before the cycle would repeat itself. Truth be told, Justin had spotted Lady Melissa doing that and eating unhealthy little amounts of food, but he thought it wasn't his place to meddle.

All he was hired for was to protect her from any harm from people, and that didn't include her, at least the contract didn't include that bit of information.

Justin wanted his relationship with Lady Melissa to be strictly professional, and if it meant ignoring this then he would gladly do so.
