Lady Melissa realized something then, why was the water so deep when the employees had claimed that it was only a few feet, if she remembered specifically, it was supposed to be four feet,
Yet, why did it feel like it was longer than that? It was either that Lady Melissa had been saying this because she almost died due to drowning, or because the employees had lied to them.
And, there was one more detail about this whole situation that creeped Lady Melissa. Why was the brunette-haired woman there?
And more importantly why was the brunette-haired woman trying to kill her? Though it did kind of make sense since the brunette-haired woman did try to murder Lady Melissa multiple times in her nightmares.
But those were simply nightmares, hence why Lady Melissa hadn't thought much of them. They weren't real, or at least they weren't supposed to be.
Lady Melissa hadn't experienced dying by drowning in her nightmare or being pulled down by the brunette-haired woman either, so maybe she could start there.
Lady Melissa's head was filled with hundreds of thoughts, and she wasn't feeling well either because of the fact that she had almost drowned earlier.
If it wasn't for Justin who knows what might've happened to her? Lady Melissa was definitely going to hire more guards for this, and for the future. Who knows what she might face?
Lady Melissa knew how much she could lose if she died. If she died this time again, there's no guarantee she's going to get another chance in life.
Lady Melissa had already been given a second chance, one she was sure that many people weren't so lucky and fortunate enough to get.
She had so much to lose if she died in this life, after everything she had gone through and everything she had put herself through, she couldn't exactly just let herself die.
Lady Melissa had so many dreams and big goals ahead of her, the main one, of course, being wiping off the Crown Prince's face-off of Earth.
Soon enough, Lady Melissa and the others had made it safely through the shore, yet not a single word was spoken until Lady Melissa and her parents had made it to the carriage.
"Are you alright darling?"
The Duchess asked Lady Melissa, worrying about her daughter's physical condition and whether she was alright or not.
"I'm fine mother."
Lady Melissa coldly said, feeling bad that she had ruined everything for her parents once again, just when this year could be the perfect year.
"Alright, just tell your father or me if you're not feeling well, but for now we'll go back to the Shayla estate, you need to see a doctor now."
The Duchess said, telling Lady Melissa that they were going to head home now, and see the doctor, to make sure that Lady Melissa was alright.
"We don't need to go home mom, let's just continue with this, besides I have one last place for you and dad to go to."
Lady Melissa said, giving her mother a smile, so hopefully, they would be able to go to the last place she had planned, after all, she had felt bad after everything she had done to them today.
"No means no, we need to bring you to the doctor."
The Duchess said, telling Lady Melissa that they were going to go to the doctor.
"C'mon mom, just this one place please?"
Lady Melissa asked, begging for her mother to say yes.
"Why are you so adamant about going there anyway?"
The Duchess asked, in which Lady Melissa did not reply, the silence filling up the air.
The Duke had simply been watching the entire time, not knowing what to say, afraid that he might be saying the wrong words.
Soon enough, they had arrived home, and Lady Melissa opened the carriage door by herself, as she stormed inside the house, going to her room, with Justin soon following after her, catching up.
Lady Melissa slammed the door, before Justin quickly opened it and gently closed it, not wanting to have to pay for a broken door.
"Sorry you had to witness that."
Lady Melissa said, apologizing to Justin, which was something she didn't do anymore to employees.
"It's fine, I've seen worse."
Justin said, as he let out a hearty chuckle, Lady Melissa soon followed his chuckle.
"Um...thanks for saving me earlier, it really means a lot to me you know?"
Lady Melissa said as she gave him a smile. It did really mean a lot to her, out of everybody there, nobody except Justin was willing to step in and at least attempt to save and rescue her.
But then again, that was the whole point of Justin's job, to save Lady Melissa from dying.
"No problem."
Justin quickly replied.
"Oh and when you were rescuing me when I was drowning, were you perhaps pulled down by any kind of force, or like everything was normal?"
Lady Melissa asked, wondering if perhaps Justin had seen the same brunette-haired woman Lady Melissa saw.
"No...no I don't recall being pulled down by any kind of force."
Justin said, shaking his head at Lady Melissa's words, as he closed his eyes, recalling the moment when he had jumped into the lake to save Lady Melissa.
"Oh, did you perhaps feel as if the water depth was deeper than the employees said?"
Lady Melissa asked, wondering if perhaps the water depth was indeed 4 feet and she had just been hallucinating all over again.
"No, I'm pretty sure it was around 3-4 feet, and even if it wasn't then it'd be at five-six feet at most, hence I was surprised how you could even drown."
Justin said, to Lady Melissa, admitting the fact that he was surprised that Lady Melissa could somehow even drown at three-four feet.
"Why did you ask though?"
Justin curiously asked Lady Melissa, wondering why she had asked him.
"Oh don't worry about it."
Lady Melissa nonchalantly said, as she told Justin not to worry about it.
