Chapter 157 - 157

"The both of us should go shower, we smell awful, and I don't want to be drenched in water filled with fishes' wastes all day."

Lady Melissa jokingly said, as she gave a smile to Justin.

"I agree."

Justin replied to Lady Melissa.

"Alright, I'll give you fifteen minutes to shower, and when you're done just wait outside of the door, until I tell you to come in."

Lady Melissa said, as Justin quickly nodded his head before leaving Lady Melissa's room, to go and shower.

Lady Melissa let out a sigh, feeling much more relieved after talking with Justin.

Unconsciously or consciously, Justin had made her feel better, even if it was a short two-three minute chat she had with him.

There was something strange though, how come Justin hadn't felt that there was some kind of force pulling him down and how the water depth was just exactly how the employees said.

Lady Melissa wasn't sure why, but she had a gut feeling that something wasn't right, and she needed to get to the bottom of things, now.

Lady Melissa couldn't keep brushing the nightmares she had regarding the brunette-haired woman, and now that she had even dreamt of such a thing?

Lady Melissa needed to take precautions now. As much as she didn't want to deal with this mess she had to, she needed to deal with whoever or whatever had been making Lady Melissa dream about scenarios where she got killed.

Things were starting to become dangerous, and Lady Melissa might even face more life-death situations in the future because of the brunette-haired woman, so she needed to figure things out now, before it was too late.

Lady Melissa had initially felt guilty for ruining her parent's anniversary before she had found out that they had just watched while she was drowning.

Lady Melissa still felt guilty of course, but after finding out that they had just watched while she was drowning, she felt a tad bit less guilty.

They hadn't even done anything, only sitting on the boat and starring, and the same thing had gone for Sophia as well.

The least they could've done was shout or ask for help.

Lady Melissa needed to hire bodyguards, now, to help her with finding out about the brunette-haired woman's identity.

Unfortunately for Lady Melissa, Justin couldn't be at two places at the same time.

Suddenly, Lady Melissa had an idea that popped into her head.

She knew exactly the place to go to gather information about the brunette-haired woman, and she'd be visiting that place tomorrow.

Lady Melissa would have to ask permission from her parents, or else the Shayla estate would go into a panic if she had suddenly disappeared and was nowhere in sight.

Lady Melissa was also planning to ask her parents to start cancelling most of her lessons, as she was way ahead of most of them and could just learn from the textbooks.

Though, of course, the exception being with subjects like swordsmanship or dancing, the ones that Lady Melissa needed, she'd still ask her parents to continue the lessons.

Hence, Lady Melissa would only be cancelling the lessons that she could learn from textbooks, which was most of them.

This way, Lady Melissa would have more free time and she would be able to focus on other things, such as the rebellion against the Crown Prince.

Lady Melissa also planned to apologize to her parents for everything that had happened today, she knew how her parents were probably feeling about the whole thing.

It was the one day they had to relax, yet Lady Melissa had ruined it.

Lady Melissa wasn't completely beating herself up for today's incidents though, since it wasn't her fault that she had almost died because of a certain brunette-haired woman.

Lady Melissa finished showering, as she exited the doors, and saw Justin, who was patiently waiting for her.

"Just stay here Justin, I need to go see my parents."

Lady Melissa said to Justin, telling him that she needed to go see her parents, and that he should just stay at his current position and just wait for her.

Justin nodded, as Lady Melissa put on a confident smile on her face, she wasn't going to let the brunette-haired woman kill her.

Lady Melissa knocked on her parent's door, as they quickly told her to come in.

Lady Melissa saw the both of them, in each of their own individual desks, focusing on some paperwork.

The Duke and the Duchess quickly glanced at the door, noticing that it was Lady Melissa and putting down their paperwork.

"First and foremost, I'd like to apologize for the mess that was caused during your anniversary, I didn't mean for things to be this way, this was supposed to be the one day that the both of you could relax, and I ruined it."

Lady Melissa said, as she knew her parents were going to reassure and comfort her the next second, feeling bad that she thought that way.

Lady Melissa was planning to take advantage of their sympathy, into letting her cancel her lessons and allow her to go to the capital tomorrow.

"No, it wasn't your fault Melissa, you tried your best to make this day a success, it wasn't your fault what happened."

The Duchess said, standing up from her desk and giving Lady Melissa a reassuring smile, trying to assure her that it wasn't her fault what had happened earlier.

"I agree with your mother, what happened today was none of your fault, it was just an accident, and accidents happen."

The Duke said, as he gave a pat on Lady Melissa's back, attempting to reassure her somehow.

"I don't know, it's just I ruined everything today."

Lady Melissa said, as she let out a sigh, telling her parents how she 'felt' as if she had ruined everything, when in all actuality she knew she hadn't.

Admittedly, Lady Melissa did feel that way a bit, but she knew that it wasn't her fault.

Besides, how would she know that the brunette-haired woman was actually going to try and murder Lady Melissa in real life?
