"Good Morning Melissa, sit down, we need to have a talk with you."

The Duchess said, greeting Lady Melissa whilst giving her a smile, her tone sounding both strict and caring.

"Good Morning, what is it?"

Lady Melissa greeted her mother back, acting clueless.

"So, we've realized how we've been treating you these past few days, and your father and I would like to say something."

The Duchess said as she and her daughter made eye contact with each other.

"We'd like to apologize to you, Melissa."

The Duke said, speaking up.

"About?"

Lady Melissa asked him, wanting to know whether what the both of them truly did wrong was.

"We've been treating you like you're a child, and truth be told, it's hard to see you as an adult, it's hard to believe that our lovely daughter is now already of age when it was just as if yesterday she was only five."

The Duke said, as the Duchess suddenly continued.

"We want to say that we're sorry Melissa, for everything the both of us have done that have hurt you, we can promise you that it's not the truth, it's just that we care for you, and we always want the best for you, but what we think might be the best for you, isn't what you think might he the best for you."

The Duchess said, stopping her sentence before she quickly continued, looking Lady Melissa in the eye.

"Next time, we promise to confront you and ask you for your opinion regarding any sort of big decision that includes you, we're sorry, and I hope you can forgive the both of us."

The Duchess said, looking at Lady Melissa's expression, wondering what she thought about this whole thing.

"Well, I can't say that I'll forgive the both of you."

Lady Melissa said, as she quickly saw how her parents' moods went down.

"I haven't finished my sentence yet. I can't say that I'll forgive the both of you, but I'm willing to talk to the both of you again, maybe I'll forgive you in a matter of days, weeks or even months, but I'll forgive you. I can't hate my favourite parents for too long right?"

Lady Melissa said, giving her parents a smile as they returned one back to her.

"One correction though, your ONLY parents."

The Duke said, as he jokingly corrected Lady Melissa.

"You don't know that."

Lady Melissa jokingly replied as she sent her father a wink.

The Duke and Duchess were happy that their daughter was finally talking to the both of them again.

Truthfully they hadn't expected Lady Melissa to react like this, they thought she'd just ignore them, and that because of their mistake, she wouldn't talk to them again.

It might've been a dramatic thought of theirs, but they couldn't help but think it, knowing how little Lady Melissa would speak to them in the past.

They didn't want the past to repeat itself, and that was something both Lady Melissa and her parents shared.

Not wanting the past to repeat itself.

Truthfully, Lady Melissa hadn't forgiven her father for what he did, but she would just forget about it and pretend that it had never happened.

It was the best she was at doing after all.

Lady Melissa would know, she had been doing this for years, so it wouldn't hurt to do it just a few more times.

"Alright, now, let's eat breakfast."

The Duchess said, bringing her hands together as they all ate breakfast together in comfortable silence.

The last time there was silence between the three of them when they were eating was when they had a fight with each other, but this time it was different, it wasn't the tense silence instead it was the comfortable silence.

The one where it would be weird and strange to break the comfortable silence after how nice and comfortable it felt (if that made sense somehow).

Lady Melissa was a little happy though, now that she and her parents had made up she didn't need to avoid them anymore.

Lady Melissa soon finished her dinner, as she went upstairs back into the comfort of her own room after saying goodbye to her parents, knowing how busy both of their schedules were.

Though truthfully, Lady Melissa didn't want to eat breakfast or dinner with them anymore, she preferred them at the comfort of her own, alone and in silence.

Even though it was for a short period of time that Lady Melissa hadn't talked to her parents, she remembered to never trust anyone, not even Justin.

Lady Melissa trusted him the most out of everyone, although she had known everybody for years, she trusted him the most.

He had given her his knight's vow, at least for the meantime until she didn't want him as her bodyguard anymore.

Although it was practically a guarantee that Justin wouldn't be able to betray Lady Melissa, she was paranoid.

She tried to over-prepare, just in case anything would ever happen, something that she didn't expect.

Such as Justin being able to break the Knight's vow.

Out of everyone, he knew the most about Lady Melissa due to the number of tasks and errands she'd ask him to do at night, and Lady Melissa had no choice to trust him because of it.

She had to trust him, after all, there was no reason anymore for her not to trust him.

He had given her his knight's vow, and Lady Melissa had already known almost everything about his background and childhood.

She had even found out about the brothel he and his sister, Ava used to live in, though as she tried herself to find the identity of Justin and his sister, Ava's mother, for some strange reason she couldn't find it.

Though Lady Melissa had soon enough forgotten about it, too busy with the number of tasks she had to do and errands to do in the capital.

Lady Melissa couldn't find the identity of Justin's father as well, after all, there were numerous clients that the brothel had every year.

Maybe there were hundreds or even thousands and she was sure that the majority of them were probably dead right now, and that even if she did find Justin's dad, he wouldn't be ecstatic to find out he had a long-lost son after what was supposed to be a one-night stand between him and a prostitute.
